We went to Dresden as group of friends. All the important sites including Royal Palace are all within walking distance. Beautiful city. Overall: 4 Stars

Going on this wonderful walking tour gave us an overall idea of the city history.
We were so lucky to have Laura as our tour guide because she is not only knowledgeable but very enthusiastic, it was a total delight walking with her and learn all the details, told in a very casual and engaging way.
I recommend this tour on the first day in the city ( but if not, possible any day) because it helps to plan the rest of your stay.
Laura gave us suggestions and answered all our questions.
Thank you so much! She is definitely an asset to DresdenWalks organization.

This is not a free tour, but at 12€ it is about the same, if not less, than what you usually pay for a "walk first, pay later" type of tour. Our guide Seema is knowledgeable, and provides a lot of interesting tidbits along the way, without getting too much into history or detail. She is also well prepared, bringing along a book to illustrate the subject.

Really appreciate her suggestions of places that we can visit after the tour, as well as restaurants to try and local specialties to order. At the end of the tour, she stayed to answer any question the tourists have from where to get lunch to money exchange. We only did a day trip to Dresden, and this tour helped us get the most out of our day, so we could enjoy every minute of our brief visit.

A terrific introduction of the Old Town was delivered by Seema on this 90 minutes plus walking tour.

It was remarkable to me that the tour was conducted by the delightful Seema from of all places New Delhi who advised at the end of the tour that had found herself in Dresden from the love of her man from this iconic cultural city of eastern Germany. It was clear that her love of her man had extended to her great fondness of and passion for this city.

Seema proved to be both funny and very informative throughout the tour on what was otherwise a pretty gloomy day in Dresden. Unlike some walking tours, at no point were the group anything but transfixed to the tour leader despite the weather.

At 12 euros per person and in an English speaking group of only 10 people, the tour was great value.

I took a tour with my less than 8month old son and the tour was so interesting and well thought. In the old town everything is quite close so there wasn't too much walking. Katharinas knowledge of history was great and she even showed us pictuces of different eras. It was really interesting and learned alot. Her english was perfect and I truly enjoyed the tour and learnt alot. Only minus is that now I want to learn some
more and probably have to go back to Dresden some day 😊
Thank you so much Katharina and ladies we shared the tour with.

The Dresden Walks historical tour is an excellent way to learn about the development of the city and the significance of the painstakingly restored old town. Seema was our guide. She was thoroughly informed and had an excellent delivery of the facts. Her insights were fascinating and we appreciated her good humour. We only had one day in Dresden and could not have sorted out our priorities without the walking tour. Thanks Dresden Walks!

We only had two days in Dresden, and this tour was our highlight. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Dresden history and current affairs. The duration of the tour was just long enough to give you a good overview and appreciation of the city’s history.
Don’t visit the city without learning a bit of
It’s incredible history.

We had a lovely time walking historic Dresden with our guide Susan. The history of this town is long and complicated, but she broke it down in a simple way that made it come to life. We take a lot of these kind of tours and this one was solid as they come.

The tour itself fully lived up to expectations; our guide was very knowledgeable and very good at engaging with her customers. HShe adapted the details of the tour to suit the smaller number of customers and came across as someone who enjoyed the job. Our one disappointment was that the Friedenkirche was closed by the time we reached it at the end of the tour. Entry to this church was not included in the tour but was an expected next step. It was not her responsibility, but our guide had known, she might have changed the route of the tour to fit in a brief visit. However, the tour itself is very highly recommended as an introduction to Dresden.

This tour gave us an overview of the history of Dresden -- done by a woman who was extremely knowledgeable. She really knew her stuff, and could answer just about any question. We were really glad we did this as a first thing in Dresden. After the tour, we then knew where we wanted to return.
