Pauline took me and my girlfriend on a thoroughly enjoyable tour of the city and 4 wine bars. A really good mix of wines, 2 red and 2 whites from some lovely hidden gems of the city, as well as ones with nice riverside views.

Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a taste of Bordeaux without feeling too ‘touristy’ or formal. Really friendly and informative

A great afternoon walk. Possibly by dumb luck my wife and I were the only two on the tour. We were met right on time and after a brief intro started our walk. There are 4 wine stops on the tour and in between we got a pretty good dose of the history of the city and the buildings. The wine stops were all well done with a variety of Bordeaux wines sampled. We were given lessons on how to taste and appreciate wine, on identifying smells and appreciating the information on the labels. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and her English was good. Maybe a little basic for experienced oenophiles but we found it just right. We did this on our first day in Bordeaux and found it to be a great intro to the city and the wine of the Bordeaux region. Very highly recommended.

I strongly recommend wine course in Les Ateliers de Bacchus. I had a full day workshop with lovely Pauline. She has incredible knowledge and experience, she’s very nice, friendly and she’s a great and very experienced teacher. I had a lovely time there and learned a lot!! As an example of what I learned I could mention: wine tasting techniques, methods of wine production, wine label reading, French wines and vineyards, wine and food pairing. Thank you, Pauline so much!

Poor value for money and definitely wouldn’t recommend. We chose this tour based on reviews and started to wonder if people had been reviewing a different tour! The tour was 16 people and tediously slow. The sites visited in Bordeaux were interesting but not much information given about each. Our guide, Amelie, was lovely but had to explain everything twice as our group was a mix of French and English - not what we expected since we had been asked to select a language on purchase. However had she been energetic or enthusiastic this wouldn’t have been a problem but the tour was very quiet, slow and lacked any sense of fun or holiday excitement!

The tour could have been completed in 2 hours but we ambled along slowly and no location seemed in the slightest bit ready for us; we gathered our own chairs and had to ask for water. Our biggest gripe was the serving size as we received less than a full glass during the whole trip, 4 locations. I’m not sure if this was down to the size of the group but we had one bottle at each tasting, which doesn’t go far amongst 16. We had paid £62 each for the tour so are extremely disappointed and are keen to ensure others don’t waste their money.

Pauline was such a lovely person and winemaker. She introduced us to the intricacies of the wines while also giving us a tour of some highlights and history of Bordeau. It is not a trip to wineries and vineyards, rather an education on how to view and taste wines. She added some elements of fun to the tour, testing us. Highly enjoyable and would take this tour again.

The 1 week wine course was well organised.
Comapred to other wine course we attended, this was by far the very best one, learned a lot and had fun. I can really reccomend it.

Pauline is not only incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but also a wonderful teacher. We shared a lot of jokes as a group throughout the week and really felt that she invested herself in teaching us and making it enjoyable. She has a lot of great contacts in the industry and so we got exclusive access and experiences, including trying wine straight from the barrel at her château where she works as oenologue. If I want to learn more about French wine in the future, I wouldn't go to anyone else!

Rebecca's tour of the city and the wines of Bordeaux were spot on! She was very educated on the wines and the region. She knew all the answers to our questions and was a delight to converse with for the 3 hours together. Very professional and fun!

had a great time walking around the different areas of bordeaux to do some wine tasting.Stopped at 2 unique places i would not have found on my own.
Enjoyed tasting the different wines although even with instruction my nose failed me terribly.
Our guide was fun and it was just 5 of us so we got to know one another
