Used to go in here lots prior lockdown, arrived tonight at 6.40 and told they were closed but loads of tables sat outside. Won't bother again until back to normal times as feel they close when they like. Went back to Louis on tombland.

Worth a visit to see this architectural gem but the facilities don’t seem to have changed in 30 years and not that welcoming.

Would you Adam and Eve it?

Lovely pub but as CAMRA members we asked about discount(as given other pubs in the near vicinity). The rather bolshy bar man launched in to reasons why we shouldn’t ask for discount!! We are really long term members of CAMRA and he made us feel really uncomfortable. How rude!! We would have stayed for another but decided not to!!

This is a delightful old pub and since we parked nearby it seemed only fitting to call in for a drink after an absorbing Heritage Day visit. Well worth it, a wonderful old pub full of character and all credit to whoever sets up the outside planting.

A True Heritage Hotel

If you visit Norwich, you simply must visit the oldest hotel in the city.

It’s got a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and although we didn’t eat, the menu read like you could get a top feed too.

The hotel is smallish but comfortable and has plenty of ambience to make up for the lack of size. An impressive array of awards is displayed on the walls as are some photos of Norwich in the earlier days.

Outside seating is plentiful if the weather permits and paid parking is available nearby.

I do Adam and Eve it

Often park next to this pub, notice that they've cautiously rebranded as "Probably" Norwich's oldest pub, which is wise because there sure are a lot of old pubs in Norwich. I was here on a glorious sunny spring day in March and after walking around Tombland and the Cathedral was very pleased to take lunch here. I don't get the comments about this place being eerie or spooky, to me it's just quaint and a most agreeable place for a pint and a sarnie.

this is a very quaint and charming pub.it is the oldest pub in norfolk and reportedly has it's own ghost!it is a lovely old building, quite small inside but many benches outside and is in a good location between the cathedral and the river.there is ample parking and they serve food at a reasonable price.we didn't have time to sample the food but it looked and smelled very nice.we love popping in and having a pint here if we visit the city as it has a nice feel to it.

Bountiful Baguettes
maj 2017 • Znajomi
We met friends here for a light lunch among historic surrounds. My wife and I shared a generous tasty beef baguette with a filling bowl of ample fat chips. Our friends also chose to share a bountiful brie baguette and chips. Whilst our 11 year old nephew had the biggest bowl of chips ever!

Clearly although this is the oldest pub in Norwich their food is very fresh and appetising. The quaint interior soon filled up with happy lunch time dinners. The adjacent council car park is ideally positioned to access the cathedral and city centre.

There is also space outside which on our return from shopping was very busy.

Quaint olde-worlde sort of place. Reasonable food and beer. American tourists love places like this.

Disappointed

Took friends from Nottingham around some of the pubs of the area, had heard really good things, i was woefully dispoitned as the Barmaid (pink hair) incredibley rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Unhappy to let us taste Ale questioned our order at each point. Then told us to hurry up as she had people waiting. Will not be returning any time soon.
