So quaint. What lovely picturesque cottages. Seems like a step back in time. Lovely photo opportunities. Wish I lived there!

Picturesque but hard to find.

Just 6 miles north of the Bristol CBD, but found Blaise Hamlet difficult to find on a quiet Sunday. We could not not find any signage to this National Trust location, though I'm sure it must have been there. I had a voice in a TomTom telling me where to go, but the GPS is not alway right, as occurred on this occasion. Yes it was visually very English and we would had enjoyed more time to wander, but did not want to intrude on looking too hard, as residents live in the homes. Visually impressive.

What Quaint Homes
paź 2019
Was a little bit hard to find, but so worth it! Beautiful houses that are currently occupied, we ran into a sweet old couple who showed us how to get in. They knew people who lived there and shared with us that no homes front door faces each other to give the upmost privacy within close quarters. Took some amazing pictures.

Interesting to see on the way past

A set of designer cottages purposely built to look rural and cute. They are, but they are privately owned and although you can look at the outside, that's really it. Interesting to see, but not an afternoon out.

A unique place in Bristol
lip 2019
Blaise Hamlet is simply magical, the inspiration for Christmas cards, another example of the wonderful buildings and places Bristol constructed in the past. It is the place to take visitors, it never fails to impress and enchant my foreign friends. It's one of those places I wish I could keep it secret and avoid having it trampled by too many visitors... Please treat it with respect.

A wonderful hidden picture perfect enclave, it almost looks like a film set but is real!

I think via the National Trust’s Instagram I saw a picture of Blaise Hamlet and it caught attention due to it being so picturesque and it was easy to combine with my road tripping, it’s less than 20minutes from Tyntesfield.

I was not convinced I was in the right place as from all the pictures I had seen I thought it was a country hamlet but in fact is a real hidden gem among suburbia and right by a traffic bottleneck which makes it even harder to believe you are at the right spot. I’m not quite sure where people should park if they are with car but I just parked on the road and went in through the wrought iron gate.

It very much is a picture perfect enclave, almost like a film set but real. It sounds very twee but it is very sweet and surreal with the 9 quirky cottages (each unique) around the idyllic green with its stone sundial and water pump. It’s certainly a worthwhile pocket to go and visit but in combination with something else or if you are walking though town etc.

We took a stroll around the hamlet, looking at the quaint little houses before heading to Blaise Castle. Full of character and charm.
