- Mr. WayanUbud, Indonesia18 contributionsLovina, A Romantic Beach In North BaliWhen to visit Lovina beach almost every week for a tour with my clients from all over the world. Lovina Beach is one of the best Black Sand Beach in Bali. Lovina Beach offers amazing sunrise and sunset views every day. That's why coming to relax a few nights in Lovina is a must. Lovina is a romantic place. Relax and make the mood better. All of my clients are so happy to be here in Lovina to stay a few nights or come over a day trip to watch Dolphin.Visited June 2023Traveled on businessWritten June 4, 2023
- Odyssey542280495322 contributionsBali's best kept secretLovina is tucked away on the north coast well away from the busy south of Bali. It is a quiet retreat for those wanting to just stop in a friendly, hassle free place with a lovely beach and a mountain backdrop. It is a favourite location for long term visitors and has all the accommodation and food options including a western supermarket. Sunsets are divine and the locals are welcoming. It's an ideal base to explore the jungle clad hills. There are hot springs and a Buddhist monastery nearby.Visited July 2023Traveled soloWritten August 18, 2023
- Dan LBunbury, Australia7,494 contributionsVolcanic sand beach and bottle-nosed dolphinsI doubt that Lovina would be noted for the quality of its beach but nevertheless there were a number of locals and tourists enjoying the rather coarse sand, some parts grey, other areas black in colour. Our friendly driver from Agus Dolphin Tours advised that the waters are safe for swimming and other water sports. We were impressed by the number and variety of outrigger boats, Jukungs, lining the beach after returning from early morning fishing and dolphin tours. The beach stretches over an 8km length and offers many tourist facilities in it's hinterland.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 30, 2023
- Tika WJakarta, Indonesia12 contributionsCute DolphinsLovina is discretely located on Bali's northern shore, far off from the island's more populated southern region. It is a peaceful refuge for individuals who want to merely stop somewhere that is nice and stress free, and it has a beautiful beach and a mountain backdrop as its setting. Because it provides tourists with a complete range of lodging and dining options, including a Western grocery store, it is a destination of choice for those who plan to stay for an extended period of time. The natives are really friendly, and the sunsets are breathtaking.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 27, 2023

Terrible beach you can see the change of colour as what looks like raw sewage running from the drains straight into the sea in between the only two bars on the beach ,dirty and debris’s all over the beach no sun loungers and whilst sitting at the tables we were constantly pestered to buy ,picture, beads, shawls and boat trips not a very pleasant place .I think covid has turned it a run down old sea side resort !

Nice beach in north bali. Black sand beach. Calm wave. Best for sunrise and sunset. A bit dirty in some point but that is just an organic stuff. Some reastaurants near the beach will give you a perfect spot to seat and enjoy the view. Very relaxing. But please don't wish something like what Canggu and Kuta has to offer. Lovina is a hidden gem.

We did a snorkeling trip and saw a view dolphins wich was amazing. It was so sad to see all the trash in the sea. In the water I saw a dolphin with a plastic bag on him. I think they need to do more for all the trash in the ocean. In the snorkeling spot, was the coral more dead than Alive. The most strange thing about this day, is that the seawater stings. First I thought something was biting me, but I felt it over whole My body. My friends felt it olso. Is it about the condition of the seawater? I really dont know, but i think its strange.

Beach is not nice. Loads of creepy old men with younger Asian/local women and men. Other than that mostly teenage/twenties backpackers. No decent restaurants. Lots of pizza burger BBQ places. Definitely cheaper than other areas in Bali but it was so bad we cut our stay short and moved on.

Hello,
My wife is from Poland, she does not like crowded places but we are planning to go to see dolphins in December. Can I know what time you left your hotel to see dolphins? If not early, if later we can see dolphins too or we need to pay later higher price. I sent already email to Edis brother/
Cheers,
Sutisna

Sorry Andy. Only see your question now. I do not have an answer for you. Perhaps look on fb for Lovina Bali page and ask there. Maybe the bigger resorts will offer what you want. C

Just straight off The beach. But be aware of the rather large tidal differences in water level

How far is Lovina beach from kuta??Is it worth to visit so early (3am)??

maybe a tip if you have to drive from Kuta. don't go on the Dolphin tour at 6 am, with the other 100+ boats. unless you like hinting dolphin.
instead, find a captain that will take you out later. We did this last week. Took off at 8 am, when all the other boats left already. Only us on the sea. Oh yes, and a few hundred dolphin!

Lovina is around 4 hours drive from Kuta. The main two attraction of Lovina are...
1) Dolphin watch.
2) Black sand beach.
3) A flat beach where you can walk much deep into the ocean.
On the way from Kuta to Lovina, you can stop some other attractive points like Ubud, Batur Volcano, Water temple, ulun danu temple, waterfall etc.
To me, it is worthy to visit Lovina.
