Interesting building but not much to see
lut 2020
This was the Rivera casino opened in 1930 & closed in the 1940s. There is only the original building with a few artifacts, with most of the furnishings stolen or ruined over time. You can walk through in about 15 minutes. It is located across the main street from where the cruise ships dock.. It takes you back in time when Hollywood stars visited and gambled. You can still sense its glory days.

Nice stop
sty 2020
This has an interesting history, and is a nice place to stop in and have a margarita. In addition to touring the building. there's a small market on the courtyard.

Peaceful Park
sty 2020 • Pary
The grounds of the cultural center are a quiet spot to get some respite from the cruise ship crowds. The park is located a short walk from the ferry terminal. There is also a museum on the grounds of the cultural center which you need to pay to enter.

Interesting building and museum.
lis 2019
Had a cruise stop in Ensenada and wanted to just look around the old Riviera building. There's not a lot to see, but he architecture and history are interesting. mWe could not stay around for the folklorico show which was about 5:00 (not sure if that was daily) Discovered the small, interesting museum on site as well.

Excellent guided tour
wrz 2019 • Pary
We were offered a free tour with an English speaking guide. It was well worth the tip we gave for nearly an hour of narration through the historical displays, and opportunity to ask questions. Many English signs, as well as an English guide book, were available but the live tour guide was excellent.

Visit the History Musuem of Ensenada
mar 2019 • Pary
Great place to visit - may be hard for some people because of the stairs up and down. You have to pay around $6 US for 2 to see. Takes about 1+ hours and gives the history of the area to include pictures of the early missions, either in ruins or still operating.

Spend some time to see and understand, very interesting the history of more than Ensenda

Within walking distance of the Cruise port - head out to main road and go right across street.

includes a very interesrting historical museum!
sty 2019 • Znajomi
we went on a slow day, so no margarita, no dancing, no vendors except the permanent one inside the entryway. the casino was viewable from the museum, through slits in the ceiling coping - a lovely room. the main hall was closed - it looks like a civic or state assembly hall, but could be used for dancing with galleries around.

this place was once the riviera hotel & casino, and they have lots of great pictures of the construction back in the 20s. the museum has a number of small rooms that are made to be a real travel adventure - you enter through 'rock caves' (built by local craftsmen) made out of fibreglas. these are decorated with simulations of ancient petroglyphs.

the exhibits follow the history of baja and of course all of mexico, from prehistoric times to the early part of the 20th century, including fine baskets, weapons, the age of colonisation, maritime history, etc. fascinating!

and they have a great little gift shop at the end of yoiur touir upstairs 7 downstairs through the various rooms.

The absolute highlight of our city tour! The Folkloric Show was fabulous!
lis 2018 • Pary
We (two couples, brothers with our wives) really enjoyed the Riviera del Pacifico as the highlight of our city tour in Ensenada. Our guide, Abner, "El Guapo" had told us we would stop here last before returning to our ship, the Emerald Princess, docked at the pier. We had a wonderful time. We shopped for all our souvenirs from all the vendors booths that were set up on the day of our visit.

We had an enjoyable time in the bar, learning about how the drink "the Margarita" came to be invented there. We also enjoyed tasting free: sodas-Mexican Coca Cola (it is made with real cane sugar): Tecate beer; and last but not least Margaritas - all were delicious. Note: There was ice in the soda, but none of us got affected by it (in case you were wondering) The same with the Margaritas - since they were free several of our group went back for more and more (after all we were not driving we were on a bus tour going back to our ship.

The real highlight was the folkloric floor show in the main ballroom which was wonderful, colorful and fabulous. It featured dances from different regions of Mexico, great Mariachi music and a special performance by a rope tick master (his name escapes me but not his age he was 81! Doing the lasso around and round and up and down over his body and head. At one point he laid down on the floor while still doing the lasso it was amazing!! Most people his age would need help getting up . . . We really were impressed! This is a must do in my opinion! I should also mention that they took American money dollars and gave change in American dollars. This building was said to have been an old casino now a cultural center. It is also available to rent for events.
