I think Kumagawa is beautiful town in the middle of forester.
But it needs more production (lights, etc.)
and much lively welcoming shops. (Like miyama-cho)

Kumagawa is still having old Japanese styles houses called "Machiya" or "Kura".
They are protected by country program.
Now in winter season. That's a very nice viewing snow covered old japaneease houses there.
That's located near Kyoto only 35miles.

Stayed one night in one of the heritage guesthouse here. The house was simple, clean and original as it was a century ago. The elderly attendants at the house were villagers of Kumagawashuku. Now that they had retired, they helped at the guesthouse to showcase the history and hospitality of the town.
The most memorable thing happened on the next day -- I sat at a bench outside a snack shop, and left my coin purse there. It was 3 hours after I've left the shop that I realised I'd lost my purse. I returned and looked for it and there it was, sitting on the bench untouched after 3 whole hours. It proved how honest the people here!
