Not best choice
lut 2018
The Hotel itself is convenient but a little old. Skiing area is broad but some connections between courses are terrible. Moreover. several courses are closed there is much snow more than.enough though... And.this makes the connection much worse. If I have known this , I would have stayed other better Onsen hotel where we can enjoy skiing hopping near Yuzawa station.

Interesting and relatively large in Japan standard
mar 2017 • Pary
~ a large ski resort in Japan standard
~ 4 zones/areas, linking up by ski lifts
~ the views, different in each area, are fantastic. Trees are of different species, including pine on the top of north side.
~ lot of snow, especially on top, and powder snow beside the trails, so its easy and safe despite it said restricted.
~ no good for snowboarders when transitting from one area to another, but interesting as there are many snow parks and wide slopes.
~ the longest slope is the one parallel to the ski lift transporting from the bottom visitor centre to the starting point outside the hotel. Its fun!
~ Overall, worth to visit, and in fact when we took the local train from Ishiuchi, the whole train was full....need a whole day to spend there.

Great spot for learners , very crowded
sty 2017 • Dla rodziny
We didn't use any of the runs, just some novice snowboarding in the large practice area, extremely crowded spot. Hotel was a huge money making factory, endless day trippers, food expensive and WOW $7 for a small cup of luke warm cocoa, could have got 5 hot cans from the machine for that price.

Snowboarding
lut 2016 • Znajomi
I sometimes enjoyed snowboarding, there. it's very large field, so I need 2 or more days to enjoy full courses of this field. It has a nice hotel, I always stay the hotel.

The resort has natural hot spring, various buffets, and easy access from JR.

The accommodation is not bad, as long as you pick the side where you can view the slopes from your windows.

The ski slopes are not bad. It is comparable to Vail and Copper Mountain in Denver, Northstar in Lake Tahoe, for those who are more familiar with skiing in the United States.

Nice size of the ski resort for a few days
lut 2016 • Pary
Only 30% beginner slope, but the longest run is 6km. The intermediate slope are manageable with short steep slope for beginner levels (not first time).

Good resort with a JR station on its doorstep
mar 2015 • Dla rodziny
Joetsu Kokusai is dominated by the large hotel on a bluff above the valley. Most of the slopes are on the other side of the hotel from the main road and JoetsuKokusai Skijomae Station. The slopes can be quite steep and the coloring on the trail map is not the same as most ski resorts (green is not beginner here!). Head over the back of the resort and there are some nice runs for beginners and intermediates over towards Ozawa. Good resort for a day of skiing or snowboarding.
