This is the second time we've stayed at the Hotel Andreas, and we returned to it with enthusiasm. We loved the warmth of our welcome there and the help with practicalities like getting to and from the airport. The Andreas is a visual treat: a group of buildings around lovely courtyards. The shared central terrace with its view over the old town is a wonderful venue for the sumptuous breakfasts: homemade jam to go with the thick Greek yogurt, lots of fruit and bread, and a bottomless pot of terrific coffee. Our room was tiny but clean and tidy, with a wonderful view and even more wonderful breeze. The Andreas is in a quiet corner of Rhodes town and usually well insulated from most of the loud disco celebrations. A few steps takes you to a quiet plateia surrounding a decaying but beautiful mosque where several cafes provide a comfortable setting for leisurely afternoons. A lovely hotel in a lovely location.

Wonderful hotel in a quiet area of the old town with a rural feel. Rooms are an absolute delight - there are two with an adjoining terrace with views over the walled town, and sitting there with a glass of wine at sunset was a joy. The jams and marmalade at breakfast are homemade, and we were offered 7 different types of bread. This is a real gem, and Patrick is great fun.

Hotel Andreas is a wonderful little place tucked back in a flower-lined street in the the old city. The staff is fabulous-Patrick and Anne-Camille do everything they can to make your stay pleasurable. We stayed for 8 days with our 22 month old daughter and had no problems. We stayed the first night in a great "loft-like" room and then moved to a wonderful room up a tiny narrow staircase with an amazing view of the harbor. The rooms are traditional Greek housing- not a hyatt. Simple furnishings, concrete walls, sparse bathrooms; but we didn't go all the way to Rhodes to stay at a Hyatt. The breakfast is great- Patrick makes the best coffee in Rhodes! Our daughter still talks about her friends on the island and we can't wait to take our son (born 11 months later) back to meet everyone. His name is Rhodes.

Room tip: Get the room at the top of the tiny staircase!

This was the last hotel I stayed in on a three week trip to Greece: talk about leaving the best ’til last! I was met at the airport by Anna of Jay tours and taxi service as arranged by the hotel; it was enormous fun to be introduced to Rhodes with a short tour en route to the hotel. They also helped up the many steps into the hotel with my baggage, for which I was very grateful. The end of my trip was in sight and frankly, I was exhausted…and my baggage seemed mysteriously to be getting heavier by the minute! A tip here: do bear in mind that many taxis in Rhodes town don’t venture into the old part of the town so it’s worth checking if you are staying there.

My room was utterly adorable and I had my own private little balcony area where I could gaze at the harbour and the old town around me. The only downside was that my private bathroom was not en suite but, believe me, the hotel more than makes up for this.

The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Meals are held in a lovely dining room with fabulous views and while there I was fortunate enough to meet up with the previous owner of the hotel and we got chatting about her time on Rhodes. Before long I felt completely at ease - it’s the kind of place that everybody chats to one another and it would be hard to feel lonely or excluded here. The pub is attached to the dining area and it was great sitting having a few sundowners in the evening, sharing the day’s events.

This is one hotel I will be revisiting – indeed my best friend and I are already planning our trip out there early next year!

Room tip: Ask for a room with a view - it's worth it!

I couldn't have been happier with this place.

Great location (definitely stay in the old town if you are going to Rhodes Town)
The wifi actually works IN THE ROOMS! (this is not always the case in Greece)
Decor is funky and different in every room.
Breakfast is lovely, with homemade marmalade.

I would definitely stay there again... in face I did. We went to Lindos for a couple of days and then returned to Hotel Andreas one last night before flying out of Diagoras.
