What a spectacular small one of a kind resort over looking the bay towards St Angelo. Owners welcome / treat their guests like family. Ischia is lovely peaceful island north of Capri and reached by ferry from Naples ( 1 hour ). If renting a car, compact is much easier to get around the very narrow streets in places. Backing up to let on coming traffic is not uncommon in places. This resort is place to put your feet up and relax in 2 warm pools and a grotto which is located under the hotel and between the 2 pools. Lovely meals prepared daily, the cantenna for lunch is very good. Best tomatoes I have ever tasted.

Next door are steps down to the hot springs at the beach, lovely little cafe with loungers available at a reasonable cost. Water taxi to St Angelo for 5 Euro, taxi back to Punta Chiarito 5 Euro.

Room tip: Superior room in the main building, 207 has hot tub on the point, very romantic

This small and quirky hotel is off the beaten track but a few days here and you feel like you are in paradise. The pools are gorgeous;small but great fun and swimming between them by a tunnel is so unusual. The restaurant was lovely. The food was excellent and fresh; the restaurant was comfortable and the balcony views only got more magical as the sun set and the stars came out. We were there on August 15 and the fireworks on the island were lovely. The beach nearby although a steep treck down is another great experience. Get painted in thermal mud. Lounge like a lizard in the sum whilst the mud dries then swim in the warm thermal sea to wash it off then have a delicious snack in the beach cafe.
The bruschetta and mozarella lunch at the hotel's lower lunchtime restaurant is fab!

Room tip: Stay at the hotel and not the annex to get the full ambience of the place.

Some places are so special that you don`t really know if you want to tell anybody about them. Punta Chiarito on Ischia is such a place. In one way you want to keep it as a private treasure and a secret - and only tell your very closest friends about this magic spot. But on the other hand this is the kind of place you would like to be told about.

This hotel on top of a cliff is truly a small paradise with excellent dining, the freshest vegetables and fish we`ve ever tasted, breathtaking views, magic pools and welcoming service. The only problem is that you don`t ever want to leave once you get there. We keep coming back and have always stayed in the main building.

I stayed at this beautiful place with my girlfriend for two nights. Its quite far from the main port but once you get there you are in paradise.

We stayed on the annex building which is quite a distance from the main building however there is a shuttle that takes you back and forth. We like adventures and also like walking so we didnt mind walking to the main building or the beach to enjoy the thermal baths. The restaurant at the main building is excellent and the food is very delicious. The owner and his family were very friendly and helpful they explained and showed us how they plant and grow almost all of the food used in the restaurant, the true organic way.

Both pools are beautiful and if you want extra privacy and dont mind walking then I can suggest the annex building, the breakfast there is also enticing. However if you dont really want to go to town or do much walking and just want to relax at the spa then stay at the main building, this will allow you to be pampered and enjoy the delicious food.

I would recommend this place for anyone wanting a romantic getaway.

Room tip: Annex rooms are very private but separated from the main building, not suited if you have a problem with walking because of the hills.

The family who run the annex were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The location of the main hotel is beautiful with great amenities and the annex is close to the lovely village of Panza. You can get a taxi boat from il Sorgento to San Angelo or Testaccio which is a beautiful way to visit other beaches and also good bus links to other parts of the island.
My main grievance is the fact that if you book a room in the annex this is nowhere near the main hotel and this is not clear at booking! The annex is lovely in it's own right but not a 4 star hotel which is what I thought I was getting. The annex is not really a hotel, more apartments so you don't have the ease of room service or any facilities such as a bar or restaurant (apart from breakfast). You have access to the main hotel but need to call a shuttle bus so it's not convenient. I really don't think the annex should be advertised as the same hotel because you're really not getting that. Again, the annex is lovely but NOT Punta Chiarito and it is important to know that before booking.

Dear guest
I thank you for the compliments that you made to our Resort and I hope to host you again here in Punta Chiarito.
When you made the reservation online on the Web Site you chose the annex room.
In the room description it says that the Dependance is 800 meters from the main building.
I sent you an email with all the information at the moment of your reservation.
So you could change your reservation with a room in the main building but you did not.
It’s not the hotel to assign the rooms to the guest but the guest chooses the room according to their needs and their budgets.
The annex is a very nice Villa with a pool and a beautiful view.
Villa Caterina is not the Resort but it’s the Resort’s Dependance and you have not paid the same price of the guests who choose to stay at the main building.
So it is normal for guests who have reserved a room to the main building have many more services available. But with the our free shuttle service you could come every day at the hotel and use the other pools, sauna, hot tub…
Dear guests we suggest you to read more carefully before choosing the type of room that way you can avoid unpleasant surprises at your arrival to the hotel. I remind you that you choose the type of room and the price and not the Hotel..
In any case we hope to see you to our beautiful Island again.
Best Regards,
Teresa
