This old inn has been recently extended and we stayed in the new part overlooking the sea (great for sunsets.) The staff were clearly busy when we arrived but they took the time to find us a parking space and show us round. Dinner was enjoyable and breakfast was excellent.
We were booked on a boat trip to the Farne Islands next day and they let us leave the car there and pop back at lunch time to use their facilities. Would certainly stay there again.

Room tip: Ask about having a harbour view, I don't think all rooms have this. Also enquire about parking, there is a small car park for the hotel, otherwise there is street parking.

Charming hotel next to the harbour of Seahouses. The hotel is lovingly decorated with a collection of old marine artifacts and has lots of personality. You could easily spend a whole morning just looking at all the paintings and things - it's like a small museum!
Clean room with a comfortable bed and a good bath/shower.
A great pub with a wide selection of local beers and ales.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Highly recommended - we will definitely stay there again during our next trip to Northumberland!

We stayed here for two nights in June.

The welcome was warm and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.

The busy bar was crowded, full of atmosphere, jam packed with character (and characters!) and served a wide selection of great real ales (by efficient, friendly and hard working bar staff)

Breakfast included a good variety of options (including fantastic kippers) and the room we stayed in was quiet considering the volume of people at the bar, eating in the restaurant or out in the beer garden during our stay.

The menu in the restaurant offered a good variety of options, with a good selection of local fayre (we had the shared seafood platter which was excellent) and they seemed to cope with the volume of people requesting tables/food very well..

We really enjoyed our stay and the only slight downsides were a small, slightly uncomfortable bed that squeaked every time you moved on it!

The location is perfect for exploring Seahouses or jumping on one of the many boat trips to the Farne Islands in the harbour (which is only 100 yards away)

We booked this hotel as we have stayed here many times. It was every bit as we remembered, the old world charm , buzzing bar with not `rip off` prices as we experienced in The Bamburgh Castle Inn. The room we were given this time (6) was extremely small, but adequate for our needs. The breakfast is very good and offering Craster kippers is a bonus. Staff are polite and helpful as, when we arrived there where no parking spaces but the receptionist asked a staff member to move his car for us. We will certainly be returning as we learned on leaving that they do not take children under 10 years, double bonus.

Room tip: room 6 is extremely small.

Had a meal at the Olde Ship Inn and the meal was marvellous could not fault anything, the staff were brilliant nothing too much trouble. They had rubbarb crumble on the desert menu served with custard which made my husband day said it was best he had for a long time.

It is a lovely pub and was packed - one tip if you go for a meal reserve a table or could be disappointed
