I love this place. Sadly, they burned down last year. It doesn't look like they will be back in business for a while.

you would probably never stop but you need too. This place is off the beaten path off FM 725 from New Braunfels to Mc Queeny lake.. They have an inside and a patio. We opted for the patio which had a great breeze and sun...cover that I highly recommend. See the pics. ; They had live music. Daily changes of food so ask. I had the chicken fried steak with a corn bread style stuffing. Amazing. My wife had a prime rib special that was tender and cooked correctly at MR. My son had the sampler plate which he took home it held so much. Bread and butter served also. Michael Hernandez is the chef and our waitress was Sandy. Both did a fantastic job. Frankly for where it is and what you get, you need to go. Will I be back? Hell ya! Oh, they have no liquor license so its beer and wine only!More
We ate their yesterday because we wanted a different restaurant from our usual. Does not look like much from the outside but that is very deceiving. The staff is very friendly and helpful and our waitress Claire was very attentive to our needs. Gave us...a great rundown of the menu and made some suggestions. My husband had the all you can eat catfish, and I had sausage, both meals were good portions and they have like 18 different sides to choose from. For an appetizer we had the Gouda, spinach, artichoke dip it was wonderful with generous proportions. We will definitely go back.More
Had the brisket special on a Tuesday. U can choose your 2 sides. Brisket is a bit dry. Cole slaw is good. Beans are too sweet and I was raised up north. Given no corn bread or a roll. Thought that was wrong. Trying to...help locals. Will go again and try something else.More
It was my husband’s birthday last week. He loves the Chicken Spaghetti here, but it on their catering menu not the restaurant menu. With social distancing now, this is a good idea. I called and ordered a pan of chicken spaghetti to go. We made...our favorite sides but he got his favorite dish and leftovers to boot, and we could freeze some for later. We have been to several events they have catered and the food is always great in the restaurant and at events. This is a good way to support local restaurants now with Covid 19, order to go. We love to eat out, so we still can get our favorite food.More
good food. From the outside, it looks like nothing. Nice service. Good food. Local favorite. On the main road/725. I would recommend it.
Just had dinner - Friday night, place was packed, Cindy was my waitress and the service couldn’t have been better, personable (they all seemed to be) but not overbearing - had the chicken fried steak, breaded and done to perfection. Sides were equally good. They...process their crowd very well here while still maintaining their cool. I don’t see how they could improve the place. This was my second visit (the first was equally good) and I will definitely be back.More

We have eaten here for over 20 years because it is a great place to eat. From smoked meats to salads to brunch on Sunday. We eat here for lunch and dinner. They have daily specials on the board, so ask about them. The staff...is always friendly and service is usually great. Ask for their special refrigerated BBQ sauce.More
From the busy road in front this restaurant doesn’t look like much but looks are deceiving! This is a cute cafe with a large dining room and patio oasis you would never know were there. The staff here is one of the friendliest we have...ever seen. The food is delicious and the patio cool and relaxing on a hot Texas afternoon. Go enjoy!More
We were looking for a place to eat and saw the parking lot full. We looked it up on trip advisor and based on the reviews came in to eat. We were not disappointed the chicken fried chicken was tender and the sweet potatoes fries...were good. The jalapeño corn casserole was also good. I will recommend stopping here if you are in the area.More
We had just come off tubing the Guadalupe River and wanted to eat a late lunch/early dinner before heading back to Houston. We wanted to try somewhere we hadn't been before, so we turned to Trip Advisor and found this place. What a great find!...It is located outside of New Braunfels but isn't hard to find. This place has it all -- great food, great service, and a nice interior and exterior dining. I had a (small) chicken fried steak, along with mashed potatoes (both with cream gravy) and mac and cheese. The steak was perfect for the meal. So I'm glad I chose the small rather than large! We also got an order of River City Queso which was normal queso but spiced up. I'm not sure what was in it, but it was really good!! The tortilla chips were freshly made. Both of my boys got PB&J and the potato chips were home made and very good, just a tad spicy (which was great for me). The server and other staff were very welcoming and friendly. After a day on the river, it was perfect. It's definitely not a dress up place and there were lots of other choices on the menu. Next time we go tubing, we just might go back here to try something else!More
The food never disappoints and is always fresh! The jalapeño corn casserole is the best!! They have more than one portion size which is nice also.
Though the food is decent for a quick place to go, at best it's generic. And for the menu and quality, the prices are a bit high.
On the outside it looks like a shack (but that usually means it’s good) ... It was a beautiful Spring day breezy and cool. We sat outside in the back with nice trickling water falls and rustic atmosphere. I ordered grilled chk salad. Baked potato...all very good. My 3 friends ordered fried okra - excellent. Their entres for lunch were delicious. Comfort food! Delicious hot rolls. Cute decore and atmosphere inside and out. I ordered peach cobbler for dessert. It was cake-like (I prefer crusty) but still very good. The coffee was average. But overall when u have a fantastic waitress like Sandy, everything is great! We will return!More
