This family friendly joint on the main drag in Pittsburgh's Regent Square features an excellent draught list and truly excellent old-school bar food. Wings, 'rings, sandwiches and 'dogs are always perfect.

This place has evidently been closed a few weeks/months after a kitchen fire and we lucked out dropping in their first night reopening. The staff were friendly and the place felt like a comfortable old shoe that makes feel as if you’re at home. They...carry an excellent selection of beers and of course the dogs are the main show. Shout out to the bratwurst done Big Ben-style as an ultimate Pittsburgh treat. Large fries shared for the table and some sriracha coleslaw were great sides.More
I'm within walking distance of this gem, so I frequent it pretty often. Very friendly staff with a great vibe. I have no qualms about stopping in when I'm solo, very comfortable. Food is really good and they have a great selection of beers. Be...sure to visit the famous "Beer Cave" where you can find a whole spectrum of worldwide beers. Even if I didn't live here, I'd certainly make the effort.More
Really good hotdogs. So many options to pick from a little something for everyone. Frys are crispy and good. Service was great.
Atmosphere 100%, taste and quality of food 5 stars. Only 4 stars because $6 is a bit much for a hot dog. I had a chilli, bacon dog with grilled onions, OMG so good. I highly recommend it.
Great place to hang out and watch some sports, eat a variety of really good food and have some drinks. Staff is always helpful, service is great. Next time I go to Pittsburgh, I'll hit up D's again.
D’s is just around the corner from us so it is an obvious choice for people love a good beer. Which they always have on tap. And if you don’t like what they have on tap you have hundreds of bottled beers to choose from....They are famous for their dogs, but as we seriously dislike dogs you will have to read other people’s reviews. We love fries though and their seasoned fries are not only world-class they are also quite cheap! The chips are also good. And yes: service is like you want your friendly watering hole’s service to be: fast, friendly, pally.More
Hubby and I love a good hot dog so whenever we visit a new town we immediately look for local shops that specialize in them. We were in town last weekend for Lumaze and found this place not far from the venue, parking was surprisingly...effortless and we were able to be seated as soon as we walked in. This can best be described as a local's bar and grill with a liquor store attached but we loved the vibe. For our dinner, hubby went with the Cuban Dog while I chose the Mason Dixon and we got sweet potato fries to share. Hubby couldn't stop talking about how much he enjoyed his hot dog, he loved the pickles on top and felt it brought all the flavors together. My Mason Dixon dog was equally as yummy, great chili flavor balanced out by the cole slaw (could have used a little bit more) on fresh, poppy seed rolls. The sweet potato fries were very good too and I'm glad I asked our server about the sizes, turns out that a "handful" is more than enough for 2 people. Lots of cool things to look out while waiting for your food, especially loved the huge mural of old movie stars and assorted icons. There are plenty of options other than hot dogs and they have a huge beer menu as well. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.More
Great tasty hotdogs, staff is funny and friendly, cool bar to grab a bite, and a beer cave you could spend days in,
Decided to pop in here on our way home with a BOGO in hand. This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that you wish would fill the hole-in-the-wall in your hometown. Great little bar atmosphere. Friendly faces on both sides of the bar. Had a...Mother Earth draft - WOW was that good! It hit the spot with the all beef dog I ordered with sweet potato fries and Siracha cole slaw, called the "Hot Valentine." The slaw had a bite too it that stayed with me until after I left but the Mother Earth cooled it down. My buddy had the Bacon Cheddar dog -- full strips of bacon,...no crumbled bacon bits here. Wish the place was closer but definitely a place I'd go back to,...BOGO or not.More
What a fun place! It’s noisy, packed, full of craft beer varieties, tv screens and families. There is also wine for the non-beer drinkers, but if you do drink beer and want to take a six-pack home, there’s a small cooler packed with beer you...can grab. There’s also a punch card for frequent visitors - get enough lunches and get a free hot dog I had the chihuahua with avocado, jalapeños, and salsa. My sister and law had the vegetarian with bacon salt and potato salad on top. My brother’s personal favorite was the Cuban with ham and cheese, and we all devoured the bacon cheese fries with ranch. This place does it all right.More
Since the day they opened their doors I have been going to D's. Then I moved away about 11 years ago. But each time I return to Pittsburgh I make a trip to D's. I was just their 40 minutes ago and the place has...not lost any of its quality or charm. Their hots dos are unmatched anywhere, and heir beer selection - both on tap, and in the beer cave, is phenomenal!More
Great garage door atmosphere, wooden tables and large tap bar on otherside. Huge microbrew selection in back and separate refrigerator section. Went for the hot dogs and was not disappointed. Huge topping selection. Great fries. Vegetarian selections also.
Chef Corey is amazing. His soups and dog creations are great, not to mention all the beer choices. Service is consistently good. Has the feel of a hometown hang-out.
We've been here a couple of times with our 7-month-old. The staff are great, the food is yummy, and they have a solid beer selection. It can be a little loud, but this is a fun spot for families looking for an easy night out.
