Food was very good. Did not care for the crab/shrimp stuffing mix. Fish bites were great. Clam chowder superior. I had the stuffed flounder and it was just fair. Way too much heavy melted cheese (and the crab mix) and I was expecting a light...cheesy cream sauce. Good specials but otherwise pricey. But everywhere is.More

We ate at the bar. I had a tuna steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and zucchini fries. My husband had crab cakes, cole slaw, and wild rice. Perfectly cooked. Best meal we have enjoyed in ages. Bar wasn’t so bad. The bartender was very busy. Tuesday...night and at least 8 people working the restaurant.More

We arrived for a weekend visit and popped in for a bite. Good food and fast service for some hungry travelers. Kids had chicken tenders and we enjoyed some good seafood.

Great experience with our family while vacationing. The kids meals were huge portions and the adults food was amazing. Great amount of food for the price.

When we asked a local for a good resto for fresh fish, we learned about "Fish Bites". We followed the advice and had wonderful entrées. TWICE! (We went back the next day and had equally flavorful dishes.) The service was as good as the food....Attentive but not obtrusive. Give "Fish Bites" a try!More

FISH BITES RESTAURANT WILMINGTON NC. Sunday August 13. WE ordered fish N chips and were told they were out of French Fries. I asked if they would substitute Zucchini Fries Without an up charge. NO! So we Walked out! No Fries!?! No substitution! Harris Teeter...nearby and no one went for Fries? This place was Dirty! It was early during their short brunch service! No excuse! Looked like there was no cleaning after service the night before or before Sunday Brunch hours. We are locals and have been frequent diners since this business opened several years ago! What has happened? We heard later in the day that the restaurant was sold! Be aware!! So sorry!More

Hands down the best 2 meals we had while in Wilmington. The Stuffed Flounder was so AMAZING that my mom ordered both visits. The Shrimp Bombs were super tasty. All the good was fresh, hot, delish & the service was great! Small restaurant with only...about 12 tables but well worth it!!More

Drove down to Wilmington from Raleigh, NC passed "Fish Bites" and turned the car around. I had the pleasure of eating there before and it was fabulous, so wanted my Family to experience it as well. Two of us had the special "Ponzu Tuna stir-fry",...while one had Stuffed Shrimp Appetizer as an entre and the other had Shrimp and grits. Once again, the meals were spectacularly delicious and we left so full. Going to the "beach"? Don't miss "Fish Bites", they are wonderful!More

The staff are very friendly and efficient. The food is good. But please please do something about the interior. It’s so outdated and the flatware would be better plastic than what they use. Update and clean up the inside. It feels dirty. Otherwise, a good...place to eatMore

Very good food. Had crab and lobster Mac and cheese. Excellent with definite leftovers! Broiled oysters were good according to husband and other couple. Fish tacos were very good with mahi-mahi. Clams and linguine were good but they used big clams. Prefer small clams. Definitely...would go again!More

This is a very small place, about 12 tables and bar. A few outside picnic tables. If you go prime time, there will be a wait. I had the salmon BLT pan seared and my daughter had the salmon mixed greens salad. A bit pricey...as that and two sodas was $45. The food was excellent, cooked perfectly, and appropriate portion size. Friendly staff.More

This restaurant had great reviews on TripAdvisor so we went on a Tuesday night and waited about 45 minutes. We didn’t realize how small the restaurant was, so we were beginning to question our choice. We ordered 3 appetizers since it was getting too late...for a heavy meal. We had the crab and shrimp dip, stuffed shrimp and the peel and eat shrimp. Everything was outstanding, except the boiled shrimp were extremely hard to peel. It was closing time, 9:00, by then so we gave up finishing them. If we return, it will be for lunch, due to the long dinner time wait. We understand why it’s so busy because the food it really good.More

Made a lunch stop here recently on the way to the beach. Comfy, fun nautical vibe. Menu is, of course, seafood centric with a few “land” favs thrown in. The shrimp bombs are a must order appetizer!! Deep fried shrimp with bacon and cheese in...a delicious batter- need I say more? The Thai chili dipping sauce makes them even better. We also tried the fish and chips (very impressive white fish fillet in that same great batter) and a lobster/shrimp salad (the fried pita points take this one over the top). Loved all of our selections and the service is very efficient and friendly. Well run eatery!!More

I do not believe they accept reservations, but they do have call ahead seating. They do get busy at times, especially on the weekends. We typically try to go at an off peak time to beat the rush.
