Hidden gem. Don’t let the well loved building fool you. The place is amazing. Food great and the staff superb. Was music bingo night and the place was a little loud, but we had a great time.
Hi! Thank you for your positive review. We're thrilled that you enjoyed your experience with us. We appreciate your support and hope to welcome you back soon.
I was craving a Bloody Mary and chicken wings on a Saturday around lunch, and I happened to be near Mill Creek with my two kids. I thought it would be a great time to stop in and see how the place had changed with...the new owners. At noon on a Saturday it wasn't packed but there were a decent amount of people there - lots of TV's with games on. We sat at a high-top near the front windows and the bartender was our server. She was attentive and on top of us, even thought she ended up with a bar full of people. I was excited to have her ask if I liked my bloody spicy when I ordered it and it was very good, so that was a good way to start off! The kids got their usually grilled cheese and chicken tenders - no complaints from them. I saw pickle fries under their appetizers and had to try them because, yum. They were good! Pickles thinly sliced, battered, deep fried with ranch - I'd get them again! They also came with a LOT of them. I got the boneless wings with both buffalo and garlic parmesan sauce - i was not expecting the sauce to be on the side, as the menu said tossed in our homemade sauces... so that was disappointing. The chicken was not overly breaded and was moist, so that was good. My SIL jointed us and got the chicken Cesar salad and said it was good. Menu is not huge and it is typical American pub fare but it looked good. I'd be interested to try some of the sandwiches and others apps that looked good. Get here early on a weekend or evening! Gets busy fast We'll stop back in when in the area!More

They have a great selection of high end bourbons. Service was wonderful, food was great. Very enjoyable time. We will be eating here any time we're in the area.
Marissa rocked it tonight. Thanks for good food! Great atmosphere. A little chilly with the air conditioner.
I heard the Mill Creek Tavern had received an inside facelift and was also curious about the menu offerings. Being Lent, the wife and went with the perch dinner. Also tried the side salad for $4 extra. The basket came with 5 large perch fillets...breaded with a thin crispy crust and was delicious and not at all greasy. the fries were great also and plenty of them. All was delivered to the table nice and hot. The salad was nothing special but looked fresh, could have used some croutons on it to be a little nicer. The service was attentive and very friendly. the perch dinner was $16 which in this cheap person's view was a very good value. The burgers also looked great and were price $7 to $10. The only downside the place is the noise level from all the hard surfaces.More
Mill Creek was an after work favorite for many to grab a quick/small bit and a cold beverage. Just went online to order lunch under the new owners and was pretty shocked to see the significant price hikes and limited small plates and affordable prices....Not sure I will be returning anytime soon. #disappointed #nottherightfitforsmallcommunityMore
Came with my brother and niece to try a new place for me. They’re locals but I live 10 hours away. Pretty straight forward setup as for the type of bar food menu. But the offerings had a good mix of unique items. I had...the French Dip and it was fabulous! The beef came from a super tender, fall apart pot roast with just enough cheese! The bread/roll was tasty, fresh, airy and held it all together throughout the baptism in the au jus!! The jus was very good but just a tad salty. Smiles all around the table when we finished!More
The Mill Creek Tavern is one of my favorite places to go in the Grand Rapids area. There are always interesting people socializing and laughing. Mill Creek has great food and drink specials. When it is not packed the food is excellent. The service can...be spotty. There are some servers and bar tenders that are on their game, but others that forget orders and make mistakes when it is busy. Regardless, it has a beautiful old bar and is a friendly place to have a meal.More
Good service, menu, food and drinks. The BAD: Way too much noise since the place was full of customers. Everyone was yelling at each other to be heard over everyone else in the place. My ears were hurting because of the noise and I have...hearing aids. We won't be going there again. Food was OK but not worth it.More
Quality of food has declined a great deal.I used to like the food here.Wait time was longer than usual there.
Meet a friend here for a quick weekday lunch. We choose this location as it had a decent vegetarian selection in comparison to other nearby options. Arrived at 12:15 and it was sit where you want. My bacon cheeseburger was good and my friend loved...her veggie wrap as she at more then she originally planned. Nice proposition of tasty French fries. Overall had a nice lunch experience and will probably be back when I’m on that side of town again.More
The French Dip was too salty, per the guy that salts everything. The homemade potato chips were yummy! Hubby said the burger thingy was just OK. Homemade chips were yummy. I had some sort of app, loaded fries. I they were good. Just missing something....Salt? Staff seemed nice enough. The place was pretty empty at 2pm on a Thur. Yet I had to ask for menus. Don't think we will give them a second chance..More
Good pub menu and good selection of beer as well. Their service has always been good, too. I'd recommend their burgers.
The Mill Creek Tavern was recommended by locals. And it is obviously a popular place. We arrived a little early for dinner, but within about 1/2 hour the place was full. It's got a rustic décor. The service was very good. The food was also...good. Service was timely, and our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The temperature of the food was perfect, and it was very tasty.More
