Read ALL the reviews and concluded Robin & Frank are delightful business people who serve delicious sandwiches and yummy desserts. We walked through RB Labor Day weekend and noticed the shop would be closed Tues. so, visited Monday for an eggplant Sammy and an Italian...sub. If you can't discriminate between good, better or best, just know this places served quality cold cuts and roll plus the eggplant is "fatti en casa/mano", as are the assorted speciality desserts. Loved it all. Especially the cream puffs, peanut butter cookies & their own butter cakes. It's call in or order at the window. Simple. To all who had a hand in preparing or making the delicious food, great job. Highly recommend this side street gem.More

If you have been to Italy you know that their sandwiches are not based on quantity but quality and diversity of flavors. The C&C is legitimately spicy so be warned. Each of these 2 sandwiches had thought put into every ingredient and were carefully crafted....The best Italian grinders I have had since Italy. Gem of a find!More

I recently booked a vacation on the Empire Builder (Amtrak Train) to Glacier National Park. While I was on the train, I was served lunch. I was offered 2 choices for dessert after lunch. A brownie or a "butter cake". I had never heard of...butter cake so I said sure, I'll take one of those. It was outstanding! This will win the award for best dessert of the year in my book. This butter cake was simply a heavenly delight. If you ever get a chance, without a doubt, always order the Frank and Louie butter cake made in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. You will not be disappointed!More

We have been visiting Rehoboth for a number of years. Each time, we like to try a place we haven’t been to before. This year’s choice was Frank & Louie’s. We are so glad we did! Not only were our sandwiches deliziosa, the staff was...wonderful! When we called to place the order, a message informed us that they were busy serving another customer and to try again in a few minutes. Before we had the chance to call again, Robin called us. She was friendly and accommodating. Our order was ready in 20 minutes, as promised. Both she and Louie were full of smiles as they thanked us for coming. Upon returning to our hotel, we immediately enjoyed our sandwiches. The portions are huge! We are so happy to have discovered this gem and will certainly make it a regular stop whenever we visit Rehoboth!More

On my recent train trip I discovered a crazy tasty dessert treat. One of the choices for lunch and dinner on Amtrak is a butter cake thar are rediculously awesome. I had one at every meal and managed to bring a couple home with me,...seriously delish! I'm not sure how a local Deleware bakery landed the Amtrak contract but I'm glad they did. Frank and Louie’s Italian Specialties is a family owned and operated deli, bakery and specialty store nestled in the heart of Rehoboth Beach, DE. For more than two decades they have offfered an array of prepared foods, including ready to serve, “Heat and Eat” entrees, made-to-order sandwiches, and homemade baked goods. They are not a walk in establishment and no longer have customers enter the store. They suggest call in orders prior to pick-up. Walk-up orders are accepted but not recommended. They accept orders days/weeks in advance. I can't find any indication on their website or anywhere else that mail order is available which is unfortunate, I'd be an online customer with frequent flyer status LOL Check out their menu: Bottom line: While I don't have any insights to any of their other offerings but if this amazing vanilla butter cake is any indication of their culinary prowess then definitely check 'em out. While in town, I phoned in an order for an Italian sandwich. The person who took my order was very cordial and efficient. Said my sandwich would be ready for pickup in 20 minutes. Didn't require my credit card at that point. So when I...showed up 20 minutes later (at their take out window, they are not yet allowing people inside the store), I was greeted cordially again and received and paid for my order within all of about 2 minutes. It was wrapped in white paper, and put inside a paper bag (no plastic or styrofoam, thank goodness). The sandwich was very traditional, and tasty. Not inexpensive. But because my overall experience was good and uplifting, I didn't mind the cost.More

Our family visited Frank & Louie's for their St. Joseph Day pastries. They bought us a few as they are supposed to be a specialty item. They reminded me of cream puffs. Honestly I prefer a cream puff with a custard filling over this creamy...filling. I thought they were just OK. My husband enjoyed them. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if in the area check out their sandwiches and desserts.More

I was very happy to have found this place; we were taking the 11:15 am Lewes-Cape May Ferry and wanted to pick up lunch before we boarded. We showed up on Easter Saturday and while they were super-busy preparing orders that were called in, the...owner kindly accepted my walk-up order and prepared our sandwiches ahead of the larger orders in progress. It was such a kind gesture and one that shows that the family that runs the place truly cares for their customers. The sandwiches were enormous and delicious and please respect the owners' decision not to put lettuce, tomatoes, and other condiments on them; they were fine just they way they chose to make them. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and I can't think of a better lunch to have on the ferry than one of their sandwiches.More

Boy oh boy, are we glad we found Frank and Louie's! These brothers treated like best family friends...that's a welcomed change these days. Each brother donned a shirt with their first name on them because they look nearly identical. Louie met us first and then...Frank. Covid-19 restricted us to enter their small deli, but you could see a lot of their food items through the small screened door they use to interact with customers and take orders. Highly advisable to call in your orders Frank said, especially during summer hours and now due to restrictions. Our food selections were fantastic. I suspect now that they all are after eating and reading the reviews. I had Sal's hoagie, lemon squares, meatballs, Anise waffle cookies powdered with sifted sugar, abd awsome sharp provolone cheese. I cannot express enough just how tasty everything was. The olive oil seasoning and fresh NY baked bread are the best tasting we've ever had. These people know how to bake and make Italian food. We'll be back to try the other sandwiches, baked goods, and anything else they concoct.More

I have been looking for great desserts in the Rehoboth area and have been very disappointed. I finally found a winner. I ordered a selection of cookies and pastries and was thrilled with everything. I enjoyed the best cannoli I have had in many years:...just like I remembered in my youth. Every type of cookie has been wonderful. I also ordered eggplant parmesan. Can't wait to try it.More
