It is always a pleasure of mind to meet people who love their food. It comes across from the way they describe the food, the way they present the food, and lest we forget, the food itself. Its a great find.

We were staying at the hotel with a group so the evening meal was set with little choice but we tried the a la carte which was good. It has a good ambience and has a range of eating areas - inside, outside covered and...al fresco so all weather. The a la carte menu obviously had more choice and was very enjoyableMore
Thank you very much for your comments, we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to have you here again.
As part of a group we usually had to sit at tables of 12 but on our free night a lot of us opted to stay in the hotel and eat. We asked for a table for two which was in the middle - the...window tables were given to independent travellers so we were still discriminated against. None of us were offered the pretty restaurant even though we were a la carte. The burgers were popular with most people but we opted for bowls of spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti carbonara. These were both very good as was the service. For dessert I ordered Affogato which was horrible - ice cream in a dish of cold milky coffee (usually it's a shot of hot espresso). Overall a good meal.More
Firstly thank you very much for choosing l’Approdofor your holidays and for having enjoied your stay overall; about your note for the restaurant, we would like to clear that no one is discriminated against here, simply the restaurant is organized with 8/10 tables for groups...More
Yesterday I decided to surprise my girlfriend with a diner alongside the lake. We chose the tasting menu and the wine selection with it. The food was delicious and was so beautifull laid up on the plate. The wines were good as well. The restaurant...also offers a broad selection of wines and food a la carte. The only feedback I can give is that they should take a little more time between the dishes. Now we felt a little rushed sometimes because of the lack of time between the dishes(and wines as well). I would definetily recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a beautifull location for a diner down the lake.More
We thank you for your kind comments about the excellent dinner with your girlfriend and for appreciating the excellence of our service! Be sure that we appreciated also your suggestion regarding the time between dishes, we will certainly consider it for the future. Thank you...More
The frontage of this hotel based restaurant has a feel more like a leisure centre than a top end restaurant but don’t let that misguide you. The staff were all superb and the location is simply beautiful. Excellent food and a good choice on the...menu. Would definitely recommend and well worth a visit for a special meal out!More
Dear Mark, thank you so much for the precious review, we hope to be able to welcome you soon on our beautiful terrace on the lake. with the kindest regards
Good food but check they have the correct wine that they have on their list if you order a bottle. I ordered a 2014 but they brought a 2015.
Great spot for coffee or Aperol. Lovely view and peaceful. Staff could have been a little more attentive.More
Dear Ben, thank you very much for your comment about our position by the shores of the lake, it is true it is a real great spot. I can not but excuse if an element of our staff did not give you attention enough, it...More
What a fantastic way to spend a sunny long lunch. Lakeside, Italian food and wine, great service, friendly staff:... just great! The restaurant off to the side is the perfect way to sip the afternoon away. A must if you're in the area.
We decided to spend a nice day in this Hotel where they offer a great location with a nice pool and a great restaurant. We had a blast in all those 3! The pool is just amazing , big , clean and near by the...lake. The restaurant is in the other side of the hotel also few feet away from the lake. We order couple of apps and a nice bottle of wine to start then a nice burger for our little girl and some pasta for us. Everything came on time and super tasty , service was very friendly and honestly was not expensive at all. No doubt ,we will be back again soon! Thank youMore
Very good food and very good staff in a very pretty lakeside setting. My husband enjoyed the bolognese pasta and we both enjoyed marinated salmon to start.
The food was very good and plentiful. A good selection at breakfast and in the evening. As I was on a coach holiday we filled in from a menu on the breakfast table. For other guests there was an a la carte menu.
Just returned from a week's stay at the L'approdo as part of a Titan tours holiday. Set on beautiful Lake Orta, the hotel has fantastic views over the lake though some rooms face the other way toward the road and overlook the tennis court and...car park. However, even from these rooms there is a lovely view over the trees toward the small town of Pettenasco. The setting really helps to sell the hotel. The sound of bird song is almost overwhelming mainly from the Blackbirds and the Redstarts, of which I have never seen so many in one place! Our room had a slightly tired feel to it (a complaint I often make about hotel rooms, and I guess it's down to the numbers of folk who use them unless you get them just after refurbishment) but was spotless and the domestic staff tidied and cleaned every day keeping it up to standard. Outside there is, as mentioned, a tennis court and a very nice pool as well as nice garden in which to sit and relax. The staff are without exception brilliant, speak very good English and are very welcoming. Being there as part of a large group (48), meals were being prepared for us as a group, though each day there was a choice for the evening meal from two first courses, two second and two desserts. Meals were all well cooked, nicely presented and very enjoyable. While there another large English group arrived and although there were a lot of us, I noticed no decline in the standard of service. I am unable to comment on the restaurants al a carte menu. The hotel seems to be very popular with the Italians in the north of Italy and many come at weekends from nearby Milan. Cars in the car park suggest the hotel is also very popular with Swiss and German visitors. Saw at least one Ferrari, one Aston Martin Vanquish and a Bentley which possibly indicates something of the standard. The pool is open to the public, for a charge, and the pool and gardens can be very busy at weekends. There are conference facilities and weddings also take place. If you were visiting under you own steam you would definitely need your own transport and there is not a lot in the local town/village of Pettenasco itself. The hotel is however well positioned near major routes giving easy access to Milan, Lake Maggiore and northwards, Switzerland via the Simplon Pass.More
Nice place and ok for small children. Friendly staff in the reception. Good restaurant with view of the beautiful lake. Could have been more service minded. Good food.
Nice place where to sit and have lunch in front of charming Lago d'Orta. In spite of being an "hotel restaurant", food is well prepared and presented: light, tasty and cooked at the right temperature. I chose "sea-food gnocchi" and "luccioperca filet": good shots! Little...boats are used to approaching "L'approdo", berth and occupants land on the restaurant and ask for a "Club Burger". Looking delicious. I think to come again.More
We went to this restaurant (which is owned by the same people who own the Hotel Ristorante Giardinetto where we stayed) and found there the same recipe for success: very good food, attentive service and beautiful lake view. Everything was just as we liked it...and we warmly recommend itMore
