On a Tour of Sintra and needed a nice lunch/drink an somewher to sit out in the sun. This place was great on all scores - the nice little veranda meant we could watch everybody too! A pitcher of Sangria de Espumante was the perfect...opener followed by a Salada Caesar de Frango and Bagel de Salmao. Lovely lunch, friendly helpful staff and a great little spot. Hope to return some day and try out the full offering.More

Sinatra was packed and this place had a nice shaded table available on their patio. I ordered the sea bass ceviche- it was good but a very small portion. It really should be classified as an appetizer and not a meal. And the price was...a bit much for the small portions. My partner got the Lawrence burger and really enjoyed it. The patio and service were great.More

We stumbled upon the restaurant for the building's charm. The staff were all very friendly. The restaurant looks out over the mountain forest… feels immersed in nature and the atmosphere radiates calm. We had the ceviche to start and sea bass with risotto and cod...with fresh roasted veggies and mains. All excellent! The chocolate meringue cake with ice cream and strawberries at the end topped it all off wonderfully.More

Hopefully you get better attention/service if you are staying at the hotel. We were not, so we got seated in a separate room without a view. Service was slow to say the least. They were out of one of the main items we went in...for-a vegan soup for my vegan daughter. The bread (which you pay for) was delicious, along with the olives, but the rest of the food was expensive but mediocre. Tr cod was full of bones, the sea bass was bland and boring and we expected much more for $36. I had the beef Wellington, which when i cut into it was completely raw. When I sent it back, I’m not sure what they did to it, but it was flashed up, and still just as raw in the middle, and dried out around the edges. I ate a very few bites only, but was never offered a solution for it. The waiter was busy serving the other room where hotel guests were seated, and we were basically ignored until we had to ask for the checkMore

This hotel is cute and full of old world charm, but, to us, the restaurant is what really stood out as the hotel's strength. I mean, beside the absolutely gorgeous and incomparable location. The best salad ever consumed. The other dish we ordered (because we're...cheesy and share our food) was the same thing we had ordered at a very expensive restaurant the week before in Paris. Good comparison point, don't you think? (Or maybe we were just telling ourselves that to ease the guilt of ordering the same thing twice when we're supposed to be exploring and trying new things.) This blew the Paris dish away. Not even close. Lawrence's for the W.More

We stopped at Lawrences's Hotel restaurant after a hike to Pena Palace. On pupose i tried to avoid the very center of the city to avoid typical tourist hunting restaurants with poor food quality. Lawrence's restaurant was attracting due to its history of almost 200...years (since 1800s written on the wall).. Unfortunately the food quality was very poor, and this is through for almost all the dishes. We ordered Lawrences salad as starter and a cheese and cold cut plate. the salad seemed not so fresh, croutons were bought in supermarket, nothing special about it. cheese and colt cut place was full of supermarket low quality products. its the same type of cheeses that you can buy in Aldi or Lidl, some even had the plastic wrap remained on them. for main dish we ordered cod burger and portugese steak. Cod burger was totally cold when served, bun was not even heated, it was just used right after taking it out from the supermarket plastic bag, chesse was melted on the cod patty, but already hard, cold, dried out when served. This dish we did not even touch but sent it back right away. I saw another guest complaining bout the same dish just before we received it.. finally, protugese steak i would rate as ok, but quite chewy.. since the cod burger was unacceptable we ended up eating the steak together with my wife.. i do not recommend this place.More
