We had a few bottles here, great assortment, reasonable prices, will for sure come back here - had no food since we just had been at a restaurant, but will try out the finger food next time.

Daniele is cooking every day new fresh courses. The antipasti are very good, always looking for the best quality. Usually they are only 3 main dishies, but allways very fresh and testy. The deserts are amazing. The selection of red and white wines is wonderful....For lunch or diner, one of the best place in Berlin for Italian food and wines.More

Daniele welcomes you as ion his own kitchen. The atmosphere is familiar also if the service is perfect and based on high level standards. I never had a so good carpaccio (Daniele Bragato told me the provenience of the Simmenthaler cows (the reason of this...unbelievable taste) and how the meat was made so soft and agreable (frolling it for long periods at certain temperatures. He tried to understand my taste and wishes and broughgt me to the table an estonishing Tocai 2006 vintage: never had a Tocai like that nor aged so long: on the level of my best beloved Mosel and Saar Rieslings. All the evening I had his descrete and presernt attention and it was wonderful staying at this place a couple of hours thinking kless than one has passed! When I got the bill I was surprised for the small money I payed for all that quality and emotions. I suggest it to everyone looking for high quality Italian food and rare Italian bottles of wine. I'll return for sure at the next visit in Berlin.More

Very nice and climatic place with a great housewine of Bragato family + big choice od other special winetastes... Each gourmet of a dry wine will find there a dream taste which Bragato's nice service will help to search and always like to recommend. Other...beautiful thing is food... You won't find in Berlin so extremely fresh and perfectly relished meales. Big choice of fancy italien ham and cheese which taste amazing as a starter (f.e Vitello Tonatto or marvelous plate Insuperabile which is a mix of delicacies).. Everyday fresh pasta (3-4 kind of main dish) selfmade from mr. Bragato! And as a dessert best homemade Tiramisu ever! This place is my favorite one from first time of try all this magic flavors!! Necessarily try!More

We were staying near Checkpoint Charlie, so the restaurant was 12 stops on the U-Bahn and a bit of a walk. Fortunately, I had my car Garmin with me as the numbering on Dahlmannstrasse is somewhat strange. A small restaurant with only about 10 tables...with a limited menu, it succeeds in producing exceptional simple food from good ingredients prepared with love. We shared a raw spinach, pine nut and bacon salad to start - perfectly dressed with slivers of parmesan. We both had the pasta of the day, penne, me with a delightful spicy tomato and olive sauce and my wife with a veal goulash sauce. Perfectly cooked fresh pasta, al dente. We shared a tiramisu for dessert. The recommended Italian wine was very drinkable and modestly priced. Friendly, slightly haphazard, service. Not a smart place but has ambience. Only warning is that they don't take credit cards.More

We went without reservation on a Thursday evening when there was live music. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to know each other but we were made welcome and had a good evening. The food offering is built around the deli. We started with caponata and...caprese. The mozzarella was the best we have had out side Italy. The only mains on offer were penne with four different sauces . We had puttanesca and bolognese, both very good. A shared chocolate pannacota rounded the meal off nicely. They have a wide range of Italian wines, but we just had the house red demi which was a nice Chianti. The staff were attentive and friendly, and clearly care about the food. Recommended. Note that credit card are not accepted.More

The secret of great Italian kitchen lies in its simplicity, and Daniele is a master at it. Today happiness came from Spaghetti allo speck col radicchio (we're in season). Speck. To be sure, isn't even remotely a cousin of what you might think - bacon???...It is a way of presenting pork to to connoisseur. That came accompanied by a Great Tuscan, a 2012 Bolghieri Rosso, Le Macchiole, "small stains". Could they improve a thing or two? Probably. Sometimes the pasta nods to German palates, to me tonight it could have been more al dente. But that doesn't do a thing to the overall experience, the hospitality, the graciousness, and the way things are prepared, tastefully, and lovingly. And btw. Whoever rates this place lowly has either never eaten here or has some other lowly motive to do so.More

We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant and were pleased we made the effort to get there. Simply divine antipasti, and heavenly tiramisu. Good pasta, albeit from a limited selection. Delightful young waitress looked after us well.

We were here last night (christmas) and ordered the anti pasti plate for two. I told Daniele, who is very friendly, that I prefer a light red wine. Out of all the different wine bottles he picked a perfect one which matched the food excellent....Even my boyfriend, who isn't a whine drinker started drinking the wine. In the end we bought a bottle! The food is of a perfect quality. I normally don't eat pork since I find it greasy but here I ate the ham and saucage (soooo good). Since we had a big late lunch we didn't take the pasta (next time we definitely will). The desert, tira misu, was delicious. We had a very pleasant evening!More

Very cosy place, like a "cantina italiana" with the owner cooking specially for us. We felt like we were at a friend's place. Service is very friendly, food very tasty and well prepared with great ingredients. We had a carpachio from argentinen meat (delicious), a...wonderful penne with goulash (just my father's - if you know what i mean - makes it maybe better), a delicious panna cotta (with fresh mango souce) and an original italian Espresso. Great experience and we are already frequent customers. Can't wait for next visit! Now I understood what one of the reviews said about budget limitation (cheaper or same price as thr rest around)... if we could we would go there at least twice a week! Yummi...More

If you think I'm biased, you got that right. I'm biased when it comes to great food, and yep, I'm picky. At Bragato's you get consistent, superb quality in everything from antipasti to pasta to dolci. Take their outstanding quality signature tajers, cold cut plates...from his Northern Italian home region, or his Caponata, a sweet-sour eggplant dish, the Sicilian version of a ratatouille, that he does so well you can't stop eating. Or take their select pasta dishes: There's always a choice between a meat, fish, and veggie pasta, and what appears simple never is. Try his penne con salciccia. A bit ordinary, you may think? So did I. Now how about this: The sauce simmers on the stove for hours. During the process, Daniele takes away all the fat and focuses on the flavors. The result is a surprisingly meaty texture of the sausage that melts in your mouth. Is this really salciccia? Yes, it is. The same miracle happens to his Amatriciana pasta, another hearty dish turned deliciously unfatty and pleasurable in his cuisine. And his pumpkin gnocchi, so perfect for the season, are a class on its own. A good idea at Bragato's is to take a friend... That way, you can share his generous servings of antipasti and taste even more: tajer dishes come family size, and the Caponata is served in two little saucers - perfect for two to share and leave room for the next course. And for the desert... If you know that Daniele trained as a pastry chef, you must try this fabulous chocolate cake. Forget brownies... The thing about great food is that it isn't just about the food. It's a complex mix of many ingredients - like hospitality, vibes, and the music, as has been so well described elsewhere here (#americano_berlin). Not least it's about the looks - das Auge isst mit, as we say in my vernacular language. If there were room for improvement at Bragato's, I'd suggest to do something about the lighting. Now that we're eating indoors again, the dim light of the big round bulbs hanging from the ceiling just doesn't allow to visually appreciate the nicely decorated, often colorful dishes. As I said, I'm being picky...More

If you're in a hurry and looking for a quick meal, this might not be the right restaurant for you. On the other hand, it might just change your life. When you are in the presence of the wonderful host Daniele Bragato and his lovely...wife Aneda your cares seem to slip away, the light around you seems to grow warmer and you unconsciously start to kick back and relax and smile. The well-lit and friendly room with high ceilings is flooded with good music, jazz, classic or pop. The service is prompt, friendly and professional. At lunch my wife likes the fresh spinach salad with roasted pine nuts best, while I'll invariably order the toast with Daniele's special sauce. But what a shame not to have the pasta. Daniele cooks several pasta sauces fresh each day and it is the best pasta north of the Alps. For dinner, we would start with a carpaccio of beef, veal, tuna, or octopus, each with it's own topping, or maybe just get a mixture of thinly sliced meats, with fried veggies and cheeses, and to finish off the panna cotta or the tiramisu, both hand made at the restaurant. A burger and fries might have been cheaper, but for the quality of the food, the prices at Bragato are absolutely fair. You don't have to be a wine lover to enjoy this restaurant, but if you are, you will come back again and again to try the fantastic wines. There are several known names, such as Pio Cesare, but also many small wine growers who have been personally selected by Daniele. You can drink wine by the glass or for the store price plus 10 Euros by the bottle. Daniele comes from a family of restaurateurs and is a professional in every respect. He is also a perfectionist who demands the highest quality in the food and wine he serves. Most of the products are imported directly from Italy. Daniele knows most of the wine growers personally. My wife and I have been there for lunch and dinner several times since the opening of this new restaurant (it is really a wine bar with great food!). Daniele and his wife greet us as old friends and make us feel at home. At other restaurants something always seems to be missing by comparison. I'm sure we'll be there again next week for the Bragato Experience.More
