We were here last night and decided to return tonight. Meal was fantastic. Unfortunately it took 3 attempts of asking before we got a creme brulee. I had finished my dessert and we had both finished our espressos.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining here and I must say, it was nothing short of a culinary disaster. I had ordered their burger, and when it arrived it had the smallest portion of fries (honestly more or less three to four single...fries) and the burger itself looked as though it had been prepared a couple hours beforehand and handed to another costumer who rejected it. Stone cold and unappetizing. The menu promised a burger adorned with bacon, lettuce, and tomato - what I received, however, was a patty with some cheese and bacon. Not a hint of lettuce or tomato. The burger was brought with a sauce tartare on the side and it looked as though it had already been used by previous diners. To add insult to injury, the bill arrived, and I was slapped with a 16 euro charge for this culinary catastrophe. I can say that I will never ever be back again, absolute scam.More
Disappointed really. Very slow service. Ordered a ceasar salad and an entrecot du boeuf, took forever to arrive and was just about acceptably warm. Steak was chewy. Salad was not more than OK. Waited a 25 minutes after finishing eating for table to be cleared....Water and bread never arrived. Frites were good, but needed salt. Was looking forward to a nice meal. Didn't happen.More
We had an aperitif here before eating elsewhere and it was lovely. It was our wedding anniversary and, after having a terrible meal, we decided to go back and have a dessert and some cheese here. Our waitress was called Laura and was just superb....She even brought us a dessert with sparkler for us as a surprise. She really went the extra mile! Thank you 16 Carnot!More
We happened upon the “16” strolling around Poitiers. We didn’t want anything too rich or heavy and liked the sound of the salads. We were welcomed by a charming lady who offered to speak English although we could manage in French. We had the tomato...and mozzarella to start - very tasty. The Salade Gréco-Romaine was delicious - everything tasted really fresh. Service was charming and efficient. We opted for the wine that was suggested to accompany the entrées which turned out to be sweeter than expected - a little advice about that would have been helpful as it was perhaps not the best wine to have with the salads. But overall a pleasant experience - despite the passing noisy motorbikes!More
Starter of soup, 1 cold & had to be taken back to be reheated....waited 45 mins for a pizza & chicken salad. Chicken was covered in anchovies. Explained the problem, was asked would we like to choose something else. We didn't as it was so...disgusting appetite was lost. Pizza, 1 tasted of salt, 1 tasted of nothing. Bill arrived & told we had to pay for meal that was taken away from the table because it was so bad. We were told actually we were lucky not to have chosen a replacement as we would have to paid for 2 meals. We have lived in Poitiers for 15 years. We speak fluent French. Our daughter, the meal this was IS a CHEF! ....in Poitiers! In all these years we have never left a bad review. But this today ruined our lunch, & to add insult, they asked perhaps you would like a lolly pop! No one wants a chicken salad that tastes like fish! We will never return, 75€ wasted & a birthday ruined. Merci!!!!!More
Title says it all. We waited for menus, then drinks food order then watxhed as tables arriving after us were served first. My slow pork was the best and that was ok, my wife's tête de veau lacked flavour and the kids (12+14) pizzas were...similarly uninspiring.they left 1/2 each and did not want to take the remains away. A busy place, they must be doing something right but certainly not for usMore
Nice family oriented restaurant with decent food for our for American kids. Burgers are different than typical American fair but server was excellent
Fantastic food served with a smile , would definitely recommend , great for couples . Had the plat de jour and the pork was fantastic compliments to the chef
Visited with my family . My son ordered a burger which was really not good at all so he left it all . The manager didn’t care about our comments in the slightest no apology at all . No one enjoyed their meal and it...came to 90 Euro’s . We left feeling upset to have wasted our money particularly as they didn’t seem to care about the service or quality they were offering . I would strongly recommend you pay attention to the poor reviews even though they aren’t as many as the good reviews - take heed !!! If the owner would have sorted out our poor quality food with an apology I probably wouldn’t be leaving such a bad review. Spend you money elsewhere !!!More
This place does not take its customers seriously!! Here is my tale...……...My wife and I set out from our hotel to have a nice dinner out. All good so far. We settled on Le 16 Carnot. We both decided on the House Specialty …...the slow...cooked pork. The waitress proceeded to ask how we would like it cooked.....which was somewhat strange unless we were waiting 7 hours for dinner. Well the kitchen is upstairs and we were sitting downstairs. The waitress brought the meals down the stairs carried in her bare hands. Not a good indication of things to come! Well to cut a long story short the plates were stone cold....the gravy was stone cold.....the potato was stone cold.....in fact the whole meal was COLD!!! Call over the waiter (and the owner/manager(?)) came to, explained the problem and sent the meals back to the kitchen. We also explained to the staff the importance of a hot plate and steam being evident when bringing a meal from the kitchen. Well you can guess what happened next...….yes the meals were returned to the table barely warm this time...……..The owner/manager(?) could not have cared less. Will I ever go back...…...NO WAY!!!! The one positive......the flavours on the plate were excellent...….shame it was spoiled by the indifference of the owner/manager(?) and staff...………..My advice to you.....go find another restaurant!!!More
The best gros macaron in my life. Extraordinaire!!! I was for my birthday dinner and was the best ever.
We walked the high street Sunday evening and chose here. It was bustling. Decent menu. Two mains and wine = €41. Efficient staff. Nice atmosphere. Good quality food (both ‘posh’ and burger / pizza).
We walked along the street several times looking at the food being served in all the town centre restaurants and this one had the best. Even though it was a Monday night the restaurant was heaving unlike some of the others. Always a good sign....We were seated in an air conditioned room which was great as was over 30 outside. We had the slow cooked pork special with delicious gravy and grandmother mashed potatoes. Didn’t have time for dessert but our neighbours’ looked lovely.More
We had dinner in the terrace , business three guys. Too much drinks, cocktails, aperitif, etc. compared with dishes Meat and fish options were limited , went for Spaghetti with prawns bit overpriced 22€ , for a pasta dish. Starter , foie, very good tasty....Must say that my colleagues dishes had a very good appearance . Especially the salmon Wine offer dominated by French wines, not bad. Dessert , yes tasty Not much else to say. Average city center restaurant. Between 3 and 4stars. The feeling when you is like this review . Without emotion.More
