A very welcome return to form by Laura and her team at Prime. Lunchtime service was friendly, prompt and professional. The oysters were very fresh and my wife’s starter of mussels came in really delicious stock with beautifully balanced flavours complementing the fresh west coast...mussels rather than overpowering them. The chateaubriand was full of flavour and cooked exactly as we requested. Sides were served hot, the garlic crushed potatoes were particularly good and the cheesy pasta went well too. Sauvignon Blanc and the Prosecco were really good and so was the Malbec once it had been open for a while to let it breathe.More

There was a nice feel to the restaurant, all staff were very welcoming especially Megan who was very attentive. The scallops were the tastiest I’ve ever had, the T bone was on special and was cooked just the way I requested, as was the blade...of beef, very tasty and succulent. The cocktail and whisky bar upstairs is very cosy with great drinks which added to the enjoyment. We’ll be back.More

Delicious seafood starters, great wine and fantastic service from our lovely waitress. Unfortunately the steak was disappointing as we asked for medium-rare but it looked & tasted more like medium-well (see photo) and the sauces were bland. For the amount we paid I think we...were expecting a bit more for a sharing platter - even just a few more chips for two rather than a single small portion. As this was a very rare treat for us, we didn’t want to make a fuss and just enjoy our night. Before we went we had read some previous reviews that reported similar issues with overdone steak but we decided to give it a chance anyway. However, unfortunately, our experience was similar. We did leave some comments with staff afterwards but again, we just didn’t want to be awkward on our special night out.More

Booked tonight (16/2/24) for a family meal for 2. Arrived at 1945 per reservation. Ordered food…..and waited……and waited. Food for 1 arrived at 2115….then nothing. After a while another dish arrived - not what at all what was ordered. Staff were pleasant and really apologetic...but I am really, really disappointed and this spoiled a special evening out. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me at this restaurant. Please take a look at your processes and please get it together.More

Great restaurant. Food fabulous! Fresh and presentation wonderful. Friendly staff. Very busy even at 6pm. Book I would suggest especially if you want to sit by window overlooking River Ness.

We had walked past for 2 days and as the restaurant is called prime we thought we'd be in for a treat as my husband is a lover of steak. He ordered the sirloin and I ordered the chicken supreme. Steak should have been medium...to well but it was cooked the whole way through and was very thin so was very well done. The chips were, in his opinion, oven chips... which were very mediocre and that cost £35. My chicken supreme was far from supreme. It was on the largest bed of pea shoots and red cabbage 'slaw' I've ever seen. The accompanying sauces were tasteless, and the portion of chicken was far from worth the £21 price tag. I didn't complain at the time as I was so saddened that this was my treat for my husband's birthday (we'd travelled 8 hours by train to Inverness for a short break and this was meant to be his main meal out) and I didn't want to cause a scene. If we'd sent the steak back it would have meant us eating separately whilst waiting for a new meal to be cooked for him. When asked if everything was OK I actually replied with errrr yes it's OK. Usually I'd be a little bit more enthusiastic, the waitress must have noted my downbeat response. So unfortunately not the experience we'd hope for and quality was not reflective of the prices.More

In with a party of 5 of 5 work colleagues just before Christmas. Place was busy, but not overcrowded. Nice ambience, could comfortably hold a conversation without having to shout. Drinks order taken promptly as we were seated, and ample time to browse the menu....Starter dishes were all demolished in quick order. I can highly recommend the scallops. Mains were equally delicious, 2 blades of beef disintegrated at the merest touch from cutlery, and 2 ribeye's done very differently, but both to perfection. Even our token vegetarian was delighted with their choice of meal. An single desert from 5 was apparently also delicious. Staff were great all night, attentive, personable and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you.More
