We had dinner for the second time. We loved the food here very much. Chef Francois was very kind and made a fantastic food. We loved Beef Steak. It’s the best steak for us. The service was superb. We will definitely come back again.

This was our second visit to this wonderful little French restaurant. It’s the sort of place you want to return to. Chef Francois is clearly very experienced & the food produced in his kitchen is of a high standard every time. Yes by Koh Samui...prices it is expensive but the quality of the food & craftsmanship (meat & fish) is worth every penny. Thank you to Chef François’s & his team. Very memorable onion soup.More
Dear Francois, I'm always on the lookout for the best food, the best restaurant and the next culinary delight, so I'm naturally a fan of French cuisine. Despite the great competition for good restaurants, especially in Thailand and Europe (here Italy, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland and...other countries), France always remains my undisputed number 1. I came to your restaurant as a stranger and passionate gourmet and as a friend and admirer of your high art of cooking I have left it. You have enchanted not only me but also my family and I have to apologize that I am only able to write you this review today. It was simply divine with you!! Dining like God in France takes on a new meaning, because obviously God also likes to go on holiday to Ko Samui and then he dines with you "Chez Francois". Attached is a photo of the two of us in your kitchen in August 2022 :-) Thank you for your hospitality and for pampering us with your team. I will never forget this evening!More
You need to try the Foie Gras Terrine, Amazing... Perfect Balance, Salmon confit, Nice Texture and not Overpower the Sauce. Lamb and the Magret de Canard perfect for me. Thank you chef for Good couple dinner I had in your Restaurant!
Classic menu, cooked to perfection. Great staff only added to the occaision. One of the best resturants, not onky in Samui but in Thailand
Oh my! What a find on Koh Samui! Chez Francois is a charming little bistro style eatery in Fisherman's Village - it took me back to Paris with the ambience and overall vibe. Food prepared by Chef Francois was just perfect and such good value...for money - Michelin star worthy food at a fraction of the price. Our meals were lovingly and expertly prepared, wine was very good for Thai standards and we absolutely enjoyed our evening - particularly meeting Chef at the end of the night - who was so humble and gracious. This restaurant is highly recommended for anyone who loves quality food - we will definitely return when next on Samui.More
Fabulous attention to detail from our warm welcome to the end of our superb meal. Lots of tempting choices and an exceptional wine list.only little criticism would be the speed of service, felt a bit rushed and full with all the courses coming fairly close...together. Would definitely recommend. There is an upstairs which we didn’t see , but the downstairs was small and delightful. Duck confit and beef cheeks were a highlight.More
This is not the first time we visited this restaurant and every time we came Samui always booked the table. Food is fabulous staff very friendly and the Chef always welcome everyone by himself. The only thing was disturbing us is the table next to...us is to loud we can’t hear each other.More
This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at and I live in San Francisco where we have many high quality restaurants and have eaten in great restaurants in France too. In my opinion, it should be a Michelin star restaurant. I...went for my birthday with my husband and adult son and girlfriend and every dish that was served was absolutely delicious. The scallops with a seafood ravioli had a sauce that was out of this world! We each ordered different things and we couldn’t stop raving about each dish. The place is tiny and not pretentious but just made the dinner feel more exclusive. Chef Francois is so friendly and makes a point to thank the diners at end of the meal. A reservation well in advance is a must! I would return to Samui just to come back to this restaurant!!!!More
What an absolutely divine little French restaurant in Bophut. We love French food and we were blown away with the quality and presentation of everything we ordered. We ate there three times during our holiday and everything was just sublime. We had the 3 course...set menu twice but getting the complimentary Amuse bouche before the starter and the lovely sorbet after the starter made it a 5 course meal and all for just 1435 baht. Starters of ham and duck terrine with foi gras, Scallops with ravioli, and mains of beef cheek in red wine and duck breast in spiced orange and cranberry sauce. We also had a la carte with large Burgundy Escargot to start and fillet steak cooked perfectly! The dessert is 4 miniature sweets Crème brûlée, panacotta, chocolate ganache and meringue with fruit and cream. Chef Francois and his team were absolutely wonderful and the service was great. Just disappointed that our holiday came to an end and we had to come home. We would highly recommend this restaurant and just wish we could have stayed longer in Samui to enjoy more nights at Chez FrancoisMore
Our second attempt at visiting Chez Francois, the first (a few months ago) scuppered by a power outage across Fisherman's Village which closed the restaurant that night. Good thing we booked as the place was full, at least downstairs. We enjoyed a well-executed, thoroughly satisfying...and surprisingly filling 4 course tasting menu. We chose a variety of courses, terrine, scallops, duck and fish and everything was beautifully cooked and well-presented. The staff were attentive and the whole evening was gently-paced and enjoyable from amuse bouche all the way to the desserts which I really didn't have room for .. but just had to eat anyway. Extra marks for the Creme Brulee and the amuse bouche mushroom cappuccino which bracketed a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Expensive perhaps for Samui, 1/2 or less the cost of a similar meal at home, definitely excellent value and a highlight of our stay.More
Our visit to Chez Francois was prompted by the “rave” reviews posted by previous diners on Trip Advisor, so our expectations were high. We were shown to our table on the upper floor that was accessed via the kitchen, and as we passed through, we...were pleased to see that Chef Francois was in his whites and present. Sadly, the meal did not start well. On ordering our wine, we were informed it was not available, and were shown a limited choice of only 3 other red wines, none of the same grape. We settled on an alternative bottle, which proved to be more expensive and as we were offered such a limited alternative choice, we would have expected to be offered it at a similar price to our original but we were charged 300 Baht more, 1900 Baht in total. Our first course was Pan fried scallops with a seafood ravioli. My husband´s two Scallops both had some of the muscle still attached, mine had one attached and all the scallops were overcooked. The accompanying Seafood ravioli was not good. The ravioli was thick and the seafood tasteless. Not what I was expecting from a restaurant of this standard. My husband complained and sent his Scallops back to the kitchen and was offered an alternative starter. Second course were Angus Fillet steaks, ordered medium. Mine although cooked medium was still oozing blood leading me to conclude it had not been rested properly and it wasn't as tender as I was expecting. In contrast my husband´s was cooked perfectly. However, both steaks had a thin tasteless sauce. The accompanying broccoli was totally overcooked and half a boiled potato cold. The desert course consisted of 4 offerings, a Creme Brulee, which was good but the other 3 desserts we found ordinary. At no time did Chef Francois visit any of the upstairs tables and when we finally saw him again, he was by the entrance ushering people out... No comments, no thanks, and certainly no apologies for or recognition of our poor meal. Chef Francois was obviously having an "off" day.More
C'est magnifique! Excellent food in an open kitchen environment. Impeccable taste, good quality and well presented. Every dish scores 10/10, plus the very nice Les Quatre Délices dessert added as a final touch to heaven. Waiter and waitresses also provided great service. Will definitely visit...there again.More
I have been lucky enough to enjoy the delights of Chef Francois’s food for the past 25 years. His restaurant in Dubai, Le Classiqué at Emirates Golf Club was a regular haunt for me, with family and friends. So of course, when I was in...Koh Samui, it was top of my list of places to visit. We booked our table under a friends name to surprised Chef Francois, what a welcome we had. We were then treated to the most amazing supper, God I’ve missed his food….sooo good. If you get the opportunity, do go, you will not be disappointed. Bon appétit 🍽More
