Brilliant atmosphere and food. Exceptional staff. Wonderful beer! The lady serving on went out of her way to help us, really can't speak highly enough of this place!

This is an honest and well deserved 5/5. If you want the whole package - superb food, friendly and fast service (well, actually our waiter asked if we wanted a quick bite or first to rest & relax with our drinks before ordering food), relaxed...ambiance, at the right price - go treat yourself. Lovely terrace (covered for in case it rains, heaters for when it is cold and open on a few sides for a lovely breeze when it’s hot). Smaaklijk!More
Another visit to Den Heksestoel & as always it did not disappoint. Excellent food from crocs to fine dining including some amazing local dishes which are not to be missed. 80 beers to choose from & pair with your meal. An Orval Ambassador & I...hope the trial Orval ice cream makes it onto the menu for future visits. Interior in old, historic & funky all at the same time. Service always top notch with many languages spoken. Well worth going out of your to visit. Great walking or riding locally in the 'Flemish Alps'.More
We visited this place while travelling across France and Belgium. We were staying fairly close to Loker during our trip and fell in love with the place. We decided to try this restaurant out on our last night in Loker before moving on through Belgium....It was very busy when we arrived but initially staff seemed very friendly and accommodating when showing us to our table. We asked if we could sit in the beer garden/seated area at the back as we had two young children with us and didn't want to disturb anyone's meal but we were told this wasn't possible. We had intended to stay for a meal but had waited ten minutes for our drinks therefore decided to just have a few drinks instead of a meal. When staff became aware of this they were very abrupt and we felt very uncomfortable so we paid for our drinks and left soon after we arrived.More
Came in a little late for lunch, but the chef was able to give us flemish beef stew which we said yes please to. And we didnt regret, it tasted soo good, probably one of the best beef stews we’ve ever had! And it was...so generous portions since there came extra on the side as well. Those who work there are very friendly, and the environment is casual and it is a nice place to eat. Lots of people there, so pretty popular place i guess.More
We were taken there by some french friends who rated this place very highly ............. they weren't wrong. This fabulous restaurant was perhaps the eatery highlight of our trip. From the Kwak beer to the Pork Knuckle to the beautiful decor, this place ticks all...of the boxes. There is a small place with tables that seems more like a corridor to the outside - avoid this if you can. Everywhere else is superb. The food was plentiful, high quality and delicious.More
nice meals, great taste... nice place to go with friends... you have a lot of place to sit. don't forget to reservate.
When we visited Den Heksestoel it was a full house, still the services and athmosphere were great. Our table really enjoyed the very nicemy cooked Côte à l'os and the 'Varkenswangetjes'. In additional to the wonderful food, the restaurants also serves pretty much all Belgium...Trappist beers. Once you've been here you definitely come back. Congrats Veerle and Pieter!More
The atmosphere is wonderful. Start the meal with their dry sausage with mustarde. Wonderful and caused us to buy some to take home. We had the whole gambit. Escargot, bone marrow (l'os à moelle), carbonnade flamande, and steak au poivre and of course fries! It...was all very good. There is a wide range of Belgium beer choices. I will definitely come back.More
After a nice hike on Mont Noir we went to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. The atmosphere was wonderful. Our drinks were beer and cafe. Had the dried saucisse - absolutely out of this world as an appetizer. Ended the break with...a sundae. If you love chocolate try the Dame Noir. Cherry lovers should go for the Den Heksestoel.More
I went to this restsurant last Thursday evening . It was a business dinner with colleagues from Germany . The food was good and typically flamish . The atmosphere is charming and a good place to unwind after a long day .
Came upon this place by chance the day before when we stopped for a coffee after a longish drive from Troyes on our way to Ypres. We decided to return for lunch the following day and were not disappointed. As vegies we were well catered...for by our Hostess who took time out from a very busy lunchtime to talk to us. The food was excellent and the service from all the staff was first class. Once again full of locals which is always a good sign. Highly recommended.More
Good regional meals, many Belgian beers, nice decoration (drawings on the wall) and the staff is sympathic. Nice estaminet next to Mont Kemmel, Mont Noir and Mont Rouge
When you enter the restaurant you feel cosy in the nice 'old flemish' interior. You can notice that 'den heksenstoel' is a very busy restaurant, and when you see and taste the food for such an honest price you know why! Highly recommendable for couples,...familiys or groups who want to taste some good Flemish-French kitchen for an honest price.More
Trying to write 100 chars about this but this is the same restaurant as 'De Heksenstoel' already on TripAdvisor. You might want to merge both citations
