Highly recommend this beautiful Tibetan style hotel for your visit to Shangri-la. Wonderful atmosphere and location in the old town area, with an amazing view of the Dafo Temple and Prayer Wheel. Jackie has perfect English and was so helpful with booking transportation, recommending restaurants and experiences, and even getting up early to make us breakfast before a 6:30am airport departure! The service was outstanding, and the rooms were very nice with beautiful Tibetan artwork in the rooms and lobby. I’d suggest this to a friend in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel, clean and with all facilities. We were at the "3" hotel and had an excellent view on the town. Not the best breakfast I have ever had, food is fine but served in a small and dark room outside the hotel. Staff very polite and helpful.

In spite of booking 4.5 months in advance, I had been walked to the e-outfitting hostel due to overbooking. I had been given a comfortable room but for breakfast I had to walk to for about 5 min. to the other hostel. However, I had been charged the same rate.

The hotel is located near by Guishan Temple which is in the Shangri La old town area. You can walk to Guishan temple and old town area in 5-10 minutes. The facilities are very good. Hosts are very kind and helpful. They can speak english very well. They guide me the travel information. The room is large, clean and confortable. There is air heater and blanket heater provided in the room. The shower and toilet is very clean and large. There are bathroom amenities provided. There are 2 breakfast options, Chinese and American breakfast. Both of them are good. You can ask more portion if you need.

During my staying in April 20, 21 2019, the hot water supply for shower and sink was turned off from 01:00 midnight every day. But actually it was beyond performance there was just warm water on 20 April 2019 approximately at 23:00. Even it come worse there was no hot water supply at 21:30 during the central hot water system had only maintained at 25 degree C hotel staff showed me on the apps of mobile. It can only be resumed normal after six hours later , i.e. 06:00 the following date. I was disappointed to such poor hot water supply that was no 24 hrs in operation.

This was a really nice stay, one of the best I have had in China on this trip (stayed in 11 hotels). The staff are extraordinarily nice and really look after you to the point that they come and look for you when you are lost! Andy was a really helpful guy, carried my suitcase from the wrong hotel to the correct one and booked tours for me by walking a kilometre to the tour agency. He also walked with me a long way to show me another ATM when the one in the ancient city ran out of cash. Iwa was also very helpful. She helped me plan and book a day trip to Balagezong which I had not even heard of and was truly breathtaking (pun intended - it was at 5000 metres altitude). In the evening she helped me with jewellery shopping and stayed with me showing a lot of patience when the credit card machines wouldn't work. She was also very helpful in offerring a very late checkout because my flight was late in the evening. The lobby of the hotel is very impressive and tastefully decorated. The room was huge and very nicely furnished. A very good quality hotel - I cant sing its praises enough. It is situated in Ancient city next to Tea Horse museum. Petrol vehicles are not allowed in Ancient city so you have to take a taxi to South Gate (Naan men) and call the hotel, they will come and pick you up in an e-trike. Best to call the hotel a night before and confirm arrangements for pick up or book a transfer. Food was not served in the branch I was in (there are 3) and it was a short walk to branch 2 for breakfast which was by far the best I have had in China.…

apparently they have 3 locations around old town of shangrila. ours was no 1. we learnt that no 2 was better but we didnt see it. the main problems were: the toilet and the shower are enclosed by glass door together. if u shower, the water is surrounding the toilet and good luck with drying it. not all the rooms have this stupid arrangement. our friends had another type of room but still didnt like their room. the other problem: little pieces of the wall plaster came falling on the bed. also the room was cold even with the a/c working all night. it's not working well, very weak. the breakfast is in another place, a few lanes away from the hotel. it's for all 3 locations. a terrible freezing room. every one sits with coats to eat no heating there. the food is very minimal and unappetizing.…

We had a wonderful room - huge , well lit and very nicely decorated. The lobby is spectacular.. with many elements of a traditional large home. Location is quiet but only a short walk to the more popular old town.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. It is situated at the quieter part of 独克宗古城 (near 月光广场) and hence a very ideal place for rest and respite after a day of travel。 Our room was at the upper level- a challenge if one is battling altitude sickness. We were upgraded free of charge (many thanks, Zoe). From our room, we could see 龟山公园, which was lit up at night. On a clear morning, one can see the sunrise from the room. Room was clean and spaceous. Air conditioning and humidifier are available. Travel books are also available. Wi-Fi works well too. The hotel provides breakfast at her restaurant, which is situated near the hostel, owned by the same company. Staff were friendly and polite. What we like about the hotel is the rooftop patio. In summer, with the sum setting after 8 pm, one can have a drink or read a book to end the day. Altogether an enjoyable stay. Thank you.…

In March I spent 2 weeks in Yunnan and this was my favourite hotel room. The bed and room were both huge, and beautifully decorated. All the staff were lovely. My room was in the block of 4 just opposite the restaurant. Yes, it was chilly at night but the hotel provided an electric heater and an electric blanket. The tv in the restaurant even had an English news channel. They offer either Western or Chinese breakfast (but I think the Chinese one was hotter!) It's located in a tiny lane just around the corner from the main square. March was very quiet in Shangri-La as it is their low season.
