Recently refurbished, rooms are bright and very clean. Breakfast is included and very good. There is also a small gym and a sauna. However, there is one real problem: the property is completely understaffed and, as nice as they are, staff should try a bit harder. There really needs to be a receptionist on duty all the time, and some information packs in guestrooms would be helpful.
All in all, a decent hotel.
We managed to get the very last room available at the hotel, and just loved the very large, updated room with balcony that had an amazing view of the alps. The room was extremely clean and well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was awesome! Very modern and appeared to be recently updated. Huge glass walk in shower with rain shower head. Nice sized vanity too. The toilet was in its own room. Wifi was good, and we were very happy to get CNN on tv, too!
The breakfast room was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful! Yogurts, jams, cereals, fruit, sliced meats and cheeses, bread, hard cooked eggs and more.
Service was very friendly both there and at the front desk.
We loved our stay so much we decided to spend another night there. Unfortunately we had to move to another room, as ours had been booked. It was a very small room, and while updated, with a nice (but smaller bath) there was just one tiny window and NO ventilation. Note there is no air conditioning in the hotel. The first night in the large room, we had a wonderful breeze from the open balcony door and open window. Our room was not hot at all. Not the case with the small bedroom. It was stiflingly hot and not so much as a breeze. Needless to say, sleep was very difficult. A fan would have helped, but the hotel didn't have any available. If we'd ended up with the small room the first night, we wouldn't have stayed an additional night. Temps were in the mid to upper 80's and quite humid while we were in Austria, and a/c would have been so appreciated.
Overall this is a gorgeous hotel, it's just too bad they don't have a/c. If they did, I would have given 5 stars for sure!
I arrived late in the evening around 8pm as my flight delayed for 4 hours. There was no hotel employee welcoming, no sign of what you should do or where you should contact. There is no reception! Only thing you can see a writing to the left of the door, in german that says nacht's something, I was lucky enough to realize it, no warning in English and I dont have to know German to stay in an international hotel right? They knew I would arrive and my name is absolutely not a native name!
When you push the button on this night ring, a nervous lady answers a phone, telling me instructions on how to unlock a drawer that keeps the key to the booked room. I took the key, I climbed up the stairs to 3rd floor with huge luggage, no porter no elevator!
Most terrible of all, I entered into an attic room, where only bed option you have is under the inclination of the roof. 35cm above the bed ceiling starts! And I have claustrophobia and there is no way I could sleep there! I rushed downstairs to the speaker again (remember no reception!) speaker lady told me with most rude manner that I have to accept what I have been given , she can not change the room at an hour that late! Is 8pm in the evening THAT LATE to give proper customer service in a hotel? Seriously??
I told the lady that I will not be able to sleep in this room, this is an illness and the lady told me "NORMAL people can sleep in that attic room" Yes she told me that I am not normal! This is one of the saddest comments I have ever heard about my illness, I will sue this hotel.
I couldnt sleep whole night and I had this important meeting the other day which was very difficult for me to cope with. My agency called them during the day to ask for a change of the room they said it is not possible and they don't care about the illness, "in the end she was able to stay in the room for the first night so she can stay the second and third nights!" Terrible attitude, very disappointing.
There is another FRIESACHER the original one, choose that one and stay away from the Aniferhof. They dont care for customers how can they run a hotel with hospitality. They should learn from their relatives how a kind, nice, perfect hotel can be run, they should go and benchmark real FRIESACHER
WiFi is great and all restaurants are at your service in a 100m distance.
Wellness and sport gym will help to relax after long day climbing on the hills.
The receptionist was definitely very warm and welcoming. The room that we got was with the mountain view..it was magnificent!
The breakfast was great!
Will definitely come back!
breakfast was poor, no variety of things to eat and just a few pieces of bread. And the wooden benches were rough, so my stockings were broken in a second.
The keys are soo heavy and you have to keep them with you. The only positive thing was our bathroom, specious, nice. But only ours... well... definitly not coming back. :(
Extremely friendly staff.
Great views of the mountains.
Close to major highways, so easy to get to and also just a few minutes away from Salzburg City center.
"Chose one of the larger rooms facing the mountains, for the best views, as well as a balcony."Read full review
