Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

At the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North, the staff's exceptional service is frequently celebrated, with many guests commending the team's friendliness and professionalism. Despite this, the hotel's value is questioned due to outdated facilities and unexpected fees. The distinctive design and stunning atrium may appeal to some, yet the decor is often described as dated. Room conditions, including maintenance issues and ineffective air conditioning, are a concern, though cleanliness generally meets guests' standards. The location is convenient for local events and shopping, though parking fees have been a point of contention.

This is an old Embassy suites that was never upgraded. In m room the pullout couch sofa is worn, and the furnishings are very dated. The atrium and the rest the property feel as my dad would say, “it was ridden hard and put away wet.“ Rumor has it this hotel is about to get a renovation so they know all of that but you should be staying here only for the rate. The people though are very good.

My review is based on 10th floor lounge staff. Cintya is the best in the mornings! I have been going to this same hotel for over a year every other week and she has always been friendly and nice. It's a pleasure to have breakfast there! Anthony has always been nice as well when I check in/out.

Definitely bellow par of a Marriott hotel. This hotel needs an upgrade and urgent repair. This hotels is in urgent need for repairs and replacements. The rug was really worn out and stained. The closet door was literally ripped out, frames in the bathroom picture was broken. Marriott should really take away teh brand name of this hotel, or give it a different level brand. The breakfast in the concierge lounge is totally not worth it. I was charged for use of the it besides being a gold lifetime level, felt like a rip off, I could have paid for better food anywhere else. Zero upgrades for elite status. Not many options in Albuquerque, but this is not one of them on my next trip.

First the good: the staff there are wonderful! Couldn't ask for any better. It's also nice to have a "fancy" bar on the main floor to celebrate with friends. However, this hotel needs a bit of maintenance and attention. Hopefully this review will help them. I've been going to this hotel since the 1980s and still think it's an interesting design. The bad: the bathtub plumbing needs to be replaced, as the tub diverter sprayed water all over the floor creating a puddle. The toilet seat also needs to be replaced as the back tab is broken. Also, the bed was "ROCK HARD" and very uncomfortable. Hopefully these maintenance issues will be addressed and I will look forward to staying there, again.

Stayed here during a convention…hotel is looking exhausted not just tired..duck tape on carpets especially in public areas…bathroom door warped..ALL the furniture in the room was chipped or dented…food in restaurant was pretty good but the service was terrible…general lack of staff…lots of things labeled as under repair but it felt like the sign had been up for months if not longer…Marriott needs to pay attention to this property

We have stayed in this hotel several times a year for the last 5-6 years. It just continues to degrade and the last year it has declined rapidly. We are currently staying in our 2nd room of our 3 night stay. The first room was freezing and maintenance said the A/C was leaking terribly and he would get us another room. Room #2 (some time later) was also freezing. Apparently, the heaters/A/C units must be switched in each room, manually. So again, maintenance had to come to the room. No compensation was offered after this long fiasco after having traveled nearly 12 hours to get to this hotel. After visiting with the front desk, they did offer extra Marriott points. Really? This morning I was looking forward to the well advertised and never disappointing breakfast buffet. NOPE! There was no breakfast buffet because the hotel was not at 70% capacity? This doesn’t even make sense to me. The carpet is dirty and nasty. The refrigerator in our room is old, loud and froze our food while on the warmest setting. This hotel is in serious need of an upgrade starting at the front desk and moving up!

Stayed here for the balloon fiesta. I'll agree with the others that the hotel is very dated and far past its prime. Hotel room was dark and dimly lit. Restaurant offering for dinner was extremely limited, and food was mediocre. However, the staff is very excited about the forthcoming remodel. It can't come too soon because the hotel is below Marriott standards.

We had reservations way in advance for three days during the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. The hotel's location near the festival was very convenient. On the Friday of the Special Shapes rodeo, we left the hotel at 4:50 am and had no trouble with traffic or parking. On the Saturday of the final mass ascension, we left the hotel at 4:30 am because we had a 5:00 am check-in with Rainbow Ryders for our balloon flight. We had no trouble with traffic or parking. The hotel itself had good parking and the rooms were just like you would expect. We stayed on the 10th floor - the concierge floor - and the lounge was supposed to be open every day but was locked almost the whole time we were there, which I didn't understand. In the evening, we could see the fireworks from our hotel room, the nights we didn't go to the festival.

Disappointing at best. My husband and I are lifetime Titanium members. We stay at a lot of Marriotts and Marriott chain hotels. The lobby is nice enough but the rooms are really lacking. The beds were comfortable, to be fair, and the air-conditioning worked, but the rooms are old and dated with carpet coming untacked and dirty grout and caulk in the small bathrooms. The internet did not work and the front desk was like, "Yeah, we can't help you." The ice machine was out of order on 3 floors! Also, as Titanium members, we have access to the Executive Lounge, which is usually a really lovely experience but not here. Bare bones. While I appreciate a little fruit and salad, that is not what my husband is looking for. Beyond that were cold, very mediocre (or just bad) egg rolls. Period. When they brought out "dessert" it was one small cake - maybe 5 pieces? - which was immediately gone. That was all and we got none. Grab a water bottle and go, folks. Really? This hotel should not be called a Marriott. The rooms are more like a dated Fairfield. I would rather stay at a Fairfield than here - their cookies are way better than the Executive Lounge offerings.

We have been loyal Marriott/Bonvoy patrons for years (Titanium level) but our experience at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid South left us cold. It was far below the standards we have come to expect from a Marriott chain hotel. Our check in process was anything but smooth due to insufficiently trained staff. Although we had booked two nights, one each in separate reservations, we were assured that the reservations were linked and we would keep our same room for the second night and our record was so annotated. Despite this assurance, we received a call while touring that we had to check out of our room for the first night. Our room, a one bedroom suite, had no complimentary water, was missing both glasses and plastic cups, had virtually no bathroom amenities, the bathroom had no vent plus the door was missing a stopper to prevent it from hitting the wall, a night stand lamp was missing its bulb and the room suffered from significant road noise, something that could have been moderated by using heavier window curtains. The Executive Lounge had one of the skimpiest assortments of snacks and did not offer any alcoholic beverages. The web site for the hotel did not permit on line check out (as confirmed by the manager Holly) and we were charged for a breakfast that should have been included based on our experience at other Marriotts and given our loyalty status. As owner/managers of a tour company for 27 years, we could neither recommend this hotel nor would we stay there again until a management change can address these shortcomings. The only positive was the service of the wait staff at the breakfast/dining area (albeit a very limited dining menu) which was very good.
