I love dining out wrote a review Jun 2023

Where to begin…..We booked this hotel months ago and requested a lake view room. When we arrived, we were told that we weren’t staying in the main hotel because the hot water had failed that morning (Not sure I believe this was the reason for our move) but we were staying in one of the adjacent lodges (first floor with a view of the lake). Oh & by the way….we were the only guests! Not a problem because we do like a bit of peace & quiet. We knew that the restaurant was closed and we’d already booked a local restaurant for dinner. What we hadn’t realised was that the expected ‘guest’ breakfast was actually in the staff dining area with some pretty awful food available for us as guests! Why the hotel did not inform us way before our stay, I do not know. If it hadn’t been for

I recently stayed at this hotel for 5 days with a large ski group of approximately 50 people. I've stayed here several times in the past when the service was good. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. Upon check-in I was sharing a room with another person. The bathtub did not have a shower curtain. We could not turn down the heat which was very high so had to leave the windows open over night. I was offered a separate room on day 2. When I entered the new room it was already occupied by another customer. This could have been very embarrassing/serious! I was offered another room later that day. The room was not cleaned on the second day and even after complaining it was still not made up and the in-room coffee was never restocked for my remaining stay. The

Thankfully we only stayed here one night. It was possibly at the wrong time of year (even though the description says 4 seasons), but it was very quiet. We arrived quite late in the afternoon and the receptionist was efficient but not friendly. I asked about making a reservation for dinner and got the response “speak to her in there” and pointed towards the restaurant. We were not told of facilities or any nearby places to visit. Our dinner should maybe be reviewed elsewhere but it was fairly basic and we were annoyed at how much it had cost. The room was spacious. The bathroom however was filthy, the toilet had not been cleaned. I could not wait to leave. Our staff on check out were no friendlier than the staff we dealt with the day before. Thankfully we were not charged a

We stayed Friday and Saturday night the passed weekend, and it was awful. We were there for work, and on the Friday night there was well over 10 people partying in the hallway outside of our room on the third floor. Tried to ask them to be quiet with no avail, tried calling front desk with no answer, tried walking around the hotel to find any sort of staff, tried calling the number left on the front desk, no answer and no staff anywhere. We have a one year old, and we were staying for work and getting up early in the morning. The next day, when we tried to speak to the manager about it, he gave us horrible attitude and acted like a child. You can really tell that the wedding parties matter more to the resort than the rest of their customers. There was also chunks of mud, and

Hotel looks lovely from the outside, but it’s not great inside. Fit for purpose but very tired and in need of some love and a refurb. Check in ladies were very polite and welcoming. The local area appeared deserted, not much to do out of season (Sept 2022).

Hi I booked a single king bed room ,pet friendly . For a wedding on the long weekend . Room was clean and comfortable bed. I had a bar fridge and sink with toaster that didn’t work, there was a coffee maker but I couldn’t find the special coffee pads at the local store . In calabogie village . There were plates and cups in the cupboard however no cutlery of any kind . I wouldn’t have minded that much thinking I could go and get something at the restaurant however it was closed for breakfast and lunch which was a surprise to me as it says in website it’s open . The staff were friendly and the resort is nice . However I payed 260 per night and could only book two nights minimum . Taxes in I payed 586.60 for that amount It would have been nice to have a breakfast and lunch

Clean rooms, friendly staff, comfy beds, accommodated our three teen grandkids and us. Rain or shine, we had a lot to do. The beach is lovely, and there were bikes to ride and an indoor pool. I must compliment the front desk staff. So helpful and welcoming. Wifi was spotty in the rooms. I

We held our daughter’s wedding here recently, July 9th. It was wonderful; perfect weather for an outdoor event. The event planner Elaine, knew what she was doing and was easy to work with. All the staff were so helpful and pleasant. Jack and Mel behind the bars where very good and friendly. The food at the beach BBQ buffet on Friday evening was well presented and very good. The location was perfect by the water and some guests were able to enjoy the lake. The reception in the Lodge Hall worked out so well for the 65 or so guests it was nicely decorated and the DJ set up outstanding. The food prepared by chef Jonathan was excellent. The chicken and beef was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The service staff were so good too. This was intended to be a outdoor semi

I took advantage of this hotel for a staycation and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. While the hotel is a little older, the rural location with a quiet (in summer) atmosphere and friendly staff make up for it. My room was clean, spacious and had everything I needed including a fridge and lots of toiletries. I stayed on days when the restaurant was open and I took advantage. The meals were outstanding and I would recommend dining in. There's lots of trails nearby and a small golf course across the road as well. A great getaway location regardless of the season.

If it wasn’t for the skiing this was not worth the cost. Hotel room was cold when we arrived and throughout the first night…all night. The extra services…pool, internet and gym weren’t available (good thing I didn’t need access to the internet). Food wasn’t especially great and only available between 5pm and 10pm; so much for any after hours stuff as there were no vending machines either.
