Booked this hotel for an overnight stay to break a long drive. It was incredibly good value at 62e for one night including a quite good buffet breakfast.

It was very clean, dated and quite dark. The gardens are very pretty.

It has a cafeteria/restaurant adjoining where we had a quite good menu del dia for 12e per person.

We did not have dinner at the hotel.

Overall, excellent value for what we wanted. We wouldn't stay here more than one night but would stay again for a rest from driving.

Mostly good - We arrived late for our overnight stay. The staff were friendly. Mostly the room & bed were clean and comfortable. the selection and quality of the food was food was decent. The only issue was that it was very warm in the room. There was no air conditioning available and no warning or advice that this was the case.

Great hotel, spacious rooms, clean, comfortable. No balconies but big windows that opened. A/C. TV etc. All rooms seem the same size with same furniture.

We were allocated a room overlooking the forecourt of the neighbouring petrol station but reception changed for a pool view with no fuss.

Pool very nice, clean and not very busy. Pool bar open with snacks etc.

Most of the staff speak a little English but remember its a city hotel so a great place to practice your Spanish.

We were not aware the main restuarant would be closed during August/September but not an inconvenience as there was a bbq on the terrace every evening for 14 euro's which included salad bar, a selection of bbq'd meat and jacket potatoes, dessert and drink plus coffee. Everything very reasonably priced.

Breakfast was included in our package and had a great selection there was also a choice of fried breakfast to order as well at no extra cost. Great fresh juices and lovely coffee.

Very reasonably priced on the whole ,check out their website for offers that are not quoted by booking agents. We requested a late check out and was accomodated without extra charge. We will be returning again in September..

Located on the western outskirts of the town, the hotel is easily accessible from main routes, and there is plentiful parking space available. Check-in was efficiently completed by friendly and helpful reception staff. Our large room was quiet, comfortable and well-furnished, with all necessary facilities. An excellent buffet breakfast provided a wide choice of hot and cold options. For a 4-star hotel this represents fine value for money We did not take advantage of the spa and gardens, our main reason for visiting the town being the renowned Semana Santa processions for which Lorca is justifiably famous.

Newish designer hotel but difficult to find- just off ring road, follow directions to hospital. 2 kms from Lorca centre. Good value, large modern rooms. Ask for rear rooms which overlook gardens and pool. Excellent restaurant. A quiet area with free car parking. The must see in Lorca is the Castle.

Check in was quick. First impressions were decent looking. Stunk like crap outside! Parking available. Rooms quite dated, so alot of room for improvement. Has a pool which we didn't use. I suppose it would be ok for a stop off but i wouldn't spend more then a night or two there.

Been there 2 times now, very nice personnel and a good restaurant.
The pools have been closed both time I have been there, but that was not the hotels fault.
It is a little outside the center of Lorca, but ready to get to.

What a strange place this is: it is billed as a 'spa hotel' in a thousand square metres of garden. Well, that's a fair description. This bit though is missing: it's located, like lots of more budget hotels, in the middle of an industrial-cum-car-showroom-estate, moments from a motorway and a pretty nasty hike from the historic town centre of Lorca. And the road it's on - part of the town most affected by the recent earthquake - was a Friday-night nightmare of congestion and road works and it took some finding.
Persevere though. All those Trip-Advisor reviews can't be so wrong, can they?
Marie Celeste comes to mind next. Massive, 1980's (?) entrances, lots of wood, tiles, marble, all very was-once-state-of-the-art hotel design, sans people. Charming, but not great English speaking (I know, I can't speak any Spanish, my fault) receptionist and smooth check-in, until we discover spa not included in our deal: €30 more ....mmm. Free wifi. Logged in we find online deal that includes spa for just €10 more than the €60 we paid on Booking.com: much checking, confused conversation and reception agrees "it's Friday night special" so spa included.
Room had twin beds, not double as ordered, but as perpetual room-changers we give in and go off to spa. It's a separate building in the grounds (more in a moment) and a confusing find. Hats obligatory of course and we've left ours in the room: I get a pass being bald, but himself decides €2 saving on a new one is not worth the walk. And the spa? Possibly the best hotel-based one we've ever been in.
We are spa fans and serious critics: does it all work, is it a pleasant place to be, is it CLEAN? This gets 5 stars all round: bits of gear we've never seen before - too complicated to describe - amazing showers - six sorts! - and large steam and sauna rooms. The pool isn't for swimming, just lots of watery fun. Unlike many spas it isn't computer controlled by a person in a control room (like Baden Baden) or on auto for predetermined times, meaning an unseemly rush to the next thing (most places). Here each jet, jacuzzi feature can be individually controlled. Of course that can lead to hogging the best bits, but it was quiet enough to avoid. And everything worked! Only negative, out of control couple of kids - parent's fault. The two hours, which normally cost €15 each, zipped by. Would have been worth it ... but more later.
Evening food: we didn't want to drive, the restaurant was deserted - later one couple dined in splendid aloneness. Streetview showed two local bars - don't bother. Thank goodness for picnic supplies.
Next morning breakfast proved a hit - ask for eggs and you get fried eggs and bacon. And do walkabout the gardens. Stunning, beautifully maintained, two outdoor pools, massive party spaces, and two ducks that we released from their pen into the ponds. Two very happy ducks.
And at check-out the reckoning: just our original €60 plus the hat. Bargain of the holiday, would have been worth more, just needs the evening food problem sorting ..... Takeaway pizza?

Two couples stayed one night in Lorca, and chose to stay at Amaltea Hotel & SPA. We had nice rooms, all clean and tidy.
I just wish there were more carpets available in the rooms, it was a little bit chilly during the night.
The staff was friendly and helpful, but the reseptionist forgot to tell us that they had a special gourmet lunch this week, so we missed that. It was a little bit annoying.
We had a good dinner in the restaurant, and the service there was excellent. The restaurant had a good variety in the menu list, big and small dishes, and all of what we had, was delicious.
We had SPA in the afternoon, and it was a great experience - professional and helpful staff, nice and clean, and a good variety of treatments. The prices were OK.

I stay here regularly for business and prefer this hotel over all others in the area. It always feels as if you are the only person staying as everywhere is so quiet! I am always guaranteed a good nights sleep here, which is rare for me in hotels.
The service is always great, very efficient. Being a sole traveller I tend to order room service for dinner, and this always appears in 10 minutes and is very good. Breakfast is varied and very fresh.
The gardens are beautiful and the spa is well worth a visit.
The rooms are very large and have everything you could need, with huge comfy beds and unusually for Spain, kettle and tea bags etc.
A large shopping center is only 2 minutes away by car.
Highly recommended - although I feel a little reluctant as I don't want the hotel to be invaded!

"I asked for something special as it was my friend birthday but they did not do anything sadly ... it had been completely over looked as when we arrived we weren't actually designated a room by the looks of it - we were given one there and then that was free then ... room very large but not up to 4* quality , dirty mark on bed spread, a very small amount of toilet roll that we actually ran out and grout yellow - no tea and coffee making facilities either which for me as a regular hotel user is usually standard. The food in the hotel at dinner time was great., good size portions, drinks also reasonably priced and friendly service - the breakfast was ok but the hot selection was not refilled very often and we had to share an egg ! The staff were great and the hotel in general was very clean and inviting ... we would return . "
