Travelers' Choice
Laid-back luxury in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. Four meticulously and individually themed suites include large bathrooms & living rooms, queen beds & sleeper sofas. The backyard paradise with a cocktail pool & hot tub, cabana with wet bar & bathroom is perfect for small parties, casual meetings or romance. Employees disappear unless called upon so with only 4 suites, guests often feel they have the "place to themselves".

I went to New Orleans for a wedding and booked a room for myself at the Lookout Inn based on its proximity to the venue. However, I got much more than convenience. While friends of mine had booked a small, bland hotel room in the French Quarter, I paid the same price for quite a LOT more space, plenty of comfortable seating, a beautiful bed, and a delightful backyard. It became the default space for a couple of us to get ready before the wedding, and you can bet that some took note of the inn for future visits! Plus, I could not ask for a better experience with Kelly. Not only were they friendly and responsive to texts, but they went above and beyond to return an item I had left behind.

This was our second time staying here. We just LOVE how SPACIOUS and IMPECCABLY CLEAN the ROOMS are kept. Kelly is always available if you have questions. The Bywater neighborhood has alot of good restaurants and is not that far from the French quarter.

We stayed in the Elvis suite, and it was so charming! The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was huge!! I loved the Elvis decor and the southern details of the room - stained glass above the doors and extremely high ceilings. The backyard oasis was lovely and very relaxing. We spent a lot of time at nearby hangouts like BJ’s Bar, and the French quarter was only about a 25 minute walk. Be sure to stop by the Bywater Bakery for breakfast. We’re already making plans to visit again as soon as possible!

I travel to New Orleans frequently to visit my daughter. I stay with her when it's just me, and when my partner joins me, we have found a variety of interesting spots for both of us. This has been my favorite so far! Spacious accommodations, fabulous amenities, fun and funky, terrific location! Looking forward to our next stay!

Easiest review to write. Great place to stay! The bed was in great shape and very comfortable, the room is inviting and has everything you need. If its not in the room chances are its out back in the cabana or Kelly will have it or get it. My wife and I stayed for 5 days being in town for my daughters destination wedding. As father of the bride I was running around doing the last minute things needing to be done and with some of the more challenging things Kelly was my "go to" to solve them. I forgot to mention her help began before we even arrived as we contacted her from the rd several times and she bailed us out each time. Our visit was like staying with family that leaves you alone during your visit but is always helpful when you need them (fantasy family lol) So many gems within walking distance for food and drinks so be sure to visit them all. Thank you Kelly, Mark & Flo for an amazing home away from home in NOLA. Send us pics of Flo as a Vampire on Halloween!

This was a super comfy super lovely place to stay. The bathtub is awesome, great for soaking even for a tall person. Comfy bed, spacious room. You can hear the train nearby so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Great value for a lovely spot. Neighborhood is kind of a food desert on Mondays/Tuesdays or if you are gluten intolerant.

Peaceful, convenient to downtown, friendly, tastefully furnished rooms. The small courtyard and pool also were cool and very appreciated after walking the french quarter. I wish the tv would have been bigger but you can't have it all. We will be back. Terry Lewis

The Lookout Inn is a fantastic place to stay when in New Orleans. It is conveniently located to a bus stop which will take you to the French Quarter and you can ride the trolley down canal street or get off at several points and walk just a few blocks to Bourbon street. We rented the entire house (4 bed, 4 bath) which was perfect for 4 couples (no sharing of a bathroom). The rooms were amazing and all decorated differently but set up is very similar for each. Kelly (owner) was super easy to work with and very communicative and helpful. Bonus is the pool area with a sitting area with a fan (needed that for the heat and humidity if you weren't in the pool). The "kitchen" area has a microwave, toaster oven, small refrigerator (also one in each room), coffee maker and coffee as well as a couple of coolers to use. Very quiet neighborhood except for the trains that run through blowing the horn even at night. I would absolutely recommend staying here unless you just have to be closer to the French quarter and want to spend more money on a hotel. Worth every penny for our group.

My Mother, and two children stayed in the Bollywood Suite and we loved it! We were only there one night but wished we could have stayed longer. We loved the decor in our suite. The beautiful antiquity of the suite was stunning. We also really enjoyed the pool and the patio area. It was quaint and a very relaxing atmosphere. Ms. Kelly is a great host who is willing to help in anyway she can. She also makes you feel right at home! We will definitely come back when we return to New Orleans.
