This is a place I would recommend for everyone. Join them on rafting and cayoning, its an experience you will never forget. The staff is super friendly, and good food. We slept in cabins with the wall aganist the river is open. That was so coil! The whole place is magical! I would love to come back!

Borderlands Adventure Eco-Lodge is a great place to stay if you are looking for an adventure-filled vacation in Kitulgala, Sri Lanka. The lodge is located on the banks of the Kelani River, making it a perfect base for white water rafting, canyoning, and kayaking. The food at Borderlands is delicious and plentiful. Fab location overlooking the river. Staff are very friendly, food is plentiful, beer is cold. Great afternoon white water rafting and canyoning, felt very safe with the two guides. Good fun for teens and their parents. The cabins are very rustic. Lots of wildlife included so did not result in a great nigh’s sleep but the joy of waking up to the sound of the river and the bird song makes up for the slightly uncomfortable sleep. We were the only tourists at the time of the stay, a large group of school children were leaving as we arrived. The atmosphere would be better with more guests.

Although very beautiful place, the price isoutrageous ! Especially for Sri Lanka! You sleep on a hard matras in a beautiful cabin, but with a shared bathroom. For our cabin you had to take two stairs. Because everything is outside you get wet when it rains and everything is slippery. Diner was simple but ok. Breakfast was the same. Staff is friendly and helpful like everywhere. It is just the price!!!we stayed in places which where way more convenient for half the price. Eg Mutu village in Habanara or La Lyvie in Tangalle.

I stayed 2 nights in this camp the cabanas are rustic style and open up onto a fast flowing river. The food here is amazing and compliments to the chef. The adventures here are full range from beginners to advanced. Ranging from kayaking, Rafting, canyoning and hiking. Definitely worth a stop over for a night if you like the outdoors..

Our stay at Borderlands was good, the staff were very helpful and so good at the activities they take you out on. We stayed for 2 nights last week on our tour around Sri Lanka. The atmosphere at the camp was really great, we experienced the rolling blackouts of Sri Lanka but it was special to socialise by candlelight in the middle of the jungle. We did white water rafting, canyoning, the hike and kayaking. All the activities were fantastic, even in a monsoon the staff made them enjoyable and the rain added to the experience. The view from the eco lodges is special and right onto the river but be prepared for living a simple life. We really enjoyed this. The only issues we had with our stay was that the evening meal was the same choice for both nights of our stay. Not a massive deal anyway. We felt like we were trying to be fobbed off when Wade said he had made an error in scheduling and he asked what time we were leaving in the morning, this suggested to us that we were not as important as the VIP clients that were attending at the same time as us. We were told there weren’t enough kayaks for us to join but when our guide took us to get our gear, there was plenty of boats. When we all got out on the river, we had a great time and the issue was resolved. I mention this only as I have read in another review a similar issue, Borderlands needs to decide if it is for families or corporate events and treat all guests equally. The owner Wade and his family are very interesting people and we enjoyed listening to their stories. Thanks Borderlands!…

Me and my husband had the pleasure of staying one night at Borderlands and doing their Advanced Activity of Waterfall abseiling From the start the staff was professional and provided the best for both our stay and activity The rooms are by the river and it was amazing to sleep with the sound of the river They are all in an eco friendly concept The food was also amazing!!! The activity itself was epic and a best experience Two people were there to guide us and we abseiled 3 stages of the Sandun ella waterfall They were very professional and our safety was the highest priority also they encouraged us to enjoy the nature and get the best of it Overall Borderlands is highly recommended for someone who seeks an adventure and to relax and get lost in the nature for a while

After staying in many towns, this place opened our eyes to the most amazing nature to be had in Lanka, and ended up staying for weeks while we worked on our laptops! Totally worth it as we woke up to amazing views, birds, flavourful cooked food with so many activities to take advantage of. Definitely one of the most memorable places we've been to so far.

A very pleasant eco-lodge. Nice activities (canyoning, rafting and hiking). The guides and the welcoming staff are very careful of their hoists. The location in the deep jungle, bordering the river is stunning. The Manager is very helpful and his advises are really good.
