I'm at a loss with this company. My heart goes out to the people of Lahaina, and I pray for those who have lost loved ones, as well as their homes and livelihoods. We had a trip scheduled from October 5th-14th. I made the last payment on October 7th. The fires broke out on August 8th. I attempted to cancel our reservation on August 10th, and was told I was 3 days past the cancellation date. They offered a credit to be used within 2 years, which is of no use to me for a variety of reasons. They also said they were hopeful I would be able to visit by the time of our scheduled trip. The Governor of Hawaii has even issued a proclamation strongly advising against non-essential travel to Lahaina through October 17th, and warned that there are likely hazardous materials in the area. The local hotels are also banding together to offer accommodations to locals who lost their homes, which I applaud. I am in my mid-60s, retired and am on a fixed budget. I'm talking about $3,500 that Maui Resort Rentals is refusing to reimburse, for a trip that is not possible. Why would I ever choose to do business with this company again.

Booked HK 144 through these jokers at Honua Kai…so far it’s been a S show. Amenities advertised weren’t provided…when we asked they said their listing was for multiple rooms on this resort property and so weren’t 100% accurate…sorry….! Then when we went to put the kids to bed..no bedding for the hide-a-bed. Called 6 times, texted 10. Never got any actual confirmation that ANYONE was coming to deliver bedding. Keep in mind that they knew our kids were coming to stay and told us repeatedly where to find the non-existent bedding! Asked for a manager…no one available…”We’ll mark your message as urgent”! All with an “I don’t care” attitude that seemed borderline discriminatory! I guess maybe there is an issue with the night staff and “Haoles”… Called Honua Kai front desk…nothing they can do since we didn’t book through them. Save yourselves a ton of stress and eliminate the middle man by booking direct. Whatever discounts these guys offer you will pay for x2…believe me..:and look at their other reviews! Once bitten…

I am currently staying at Luana Garden Villas, which was rented through Maui Resort Condo Rentals. We arrived at Luana Garden Villas late October 9, 2022, around 11 pm. The check-in service has been absolutely garage. I went to one of the towers and got our wristbands. It was late, so we went straight to the condo and didn't explore the resort. The following day, I tried to use the wristbands, and it did not work. 1. I called Maui resort guest services and was advised to return to Konea towers, and their staff will assist with the new programming of the wristbands. 2. I walked to the Konea towers and waited 20 minutes. No one was there to assist. 3. As I was about to leave, the front desk staff showed up; he then told me, "sorry bro, I can't help you, and you would need to visit the other tower." 3. I called guest service again, and they said they would send someone to the condo 4. I was waiting, and without knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell, I saw someone walking into our condo, through the main floor and to the patio area where I was sitting. How is this even allowed? 5. I explained the situation to the service person, and he said he would return with new wristbands immediately. An hour went by no one came back. By now, my entire morning was shot by 11 am. 6. I called guest service again; it's as if I've spoken to their entire staff by now. They assured me they would check and call me back. Twenty more minutes went by, and I got a call back from guest service, and they said he would be there within a few minutes. He was still a no-show; I called back again and was told he would be there in 2 mins. Sure, he showed up. By now, we are around 12 ish. 7. Finally got the wristbands, went to the pool and returned to the condo to find the front door code was no longer working. 8. Called guest service again and spoke to the staff. I was advised the code was changed a minute ago. Why would you change the code? More importantly, why wasn't I notified? I requested to speak to Caitlin (the manager) 9. Caitlin called back; I was told they have a new system and didn't change the code. Then why did your staff give me a new code via email after I requested it for documentation purposes? We came here for my daughter's birthday, and instead of enjoying time with my daughter and family, I spent my entire day calling and waiting for Maui resort Guest service to get their act together. "Sorry, bro, I can't help you."

It was supposed to be a dream vacation... Maui Resort Rentals made it a nightmare. My family leased room 529 in Honua Kai Resort through the management company Maui Resort Rentals. It is a beautiful 3 bed 3 bath suite with full kitchen, dining room, living room and balcony overlooking the Pacific. Since there were 7 of us, I used a futon that was delivered in a tightly closed bag right before we arrived. Since we got to the resort early, we had to wait while they finished cleaning and delivered the futon. So the futon was in the suite in a bag for only a brief period. When we entered the suite i immediately took the futon on the balcony where I planned on sleeping. In the morning I woke up and saw bites all over the top of my hands, my arms which were exposed as I wore a t-shirt and one leg which was exposed as I was wearing shorts. I used a comforter so I knew it was bed bugs. Grossed out I called Maui Resort Rentals. They came and got the futon off the balcony, then called pest control. I thought they were going to have the futon looked at... but they had the suite looked at. Within one hour of waking up they had removed the futon with bed bugs and an hour later had pest control look at all of the beds, but not the futon. After being asked three times if I took pictures of the mattress, or saw any bugs, and told them not yet because I had to take a shower. I realized I probably should have before the whisked the futon away. I thought it was suspicious how they got rid of the futon before pest control came, because the issue was the futon... no one else had bed bugs. I went to the doctor across the street from the hotel because by the second day there were over 50 bites showing, and they were oozing clear liquid, and they itched horribly. The doctor wrote a letter confirming the bites were bed bugs and treated me for bed bugs. After two days I asked to see the report from the pest control company. It took them all day to send it because they had to call the pest control company to check the futon at their office. The problem was the futon, and they never had it inspected. The pest control had no way of knowing whether it was the same futon or not, and said in their report that there were no bedbugs on the futon they inspected at the Maui Resort Rental office in an addendum to the already written report. I have no doubt that they were shown a different futon. I have taken pictures for 9 of the last ten days. Some of the bites are going away, but I have several that look infected and will leave permanent scars. I asked to receive new sheets and towels daily...on the third day and the salesperson replied they will provide that complimentary (they normally charge an outrageous amount) for my inconvenience. At that point I said that I would like them to pay my doctors bill and prescriptions for the bed bugs, as well as compensate me for giving me the bed bugs. Two hours later I received a text in a threatening tone that if we are not happy with the suite... they have done what they have to do, they have a report stating there is no bed bugs. We were told we should leave immediately and would not be charged for the remaining five days or let them know all is fine and to drop the issue and not bring it up again. They also said they will no longer speak with me, and only to my Dad who signed the lease. I let them know I was power of attorney and they had to speak with me. And that we had no problem with the suite, and never did. We only had a problem with the bed bug filled futon they confiscated before we could get evidence. They never followed up giving us the sheets and towels daily. I dropped the conversation worried they would kick us out of the hotel after the salespersons nasty threatening text. Lesson learned. Check all beds when you travel for bugs. Get pictures before they rush the evidence out the door. Don't use or trust Maui Resort Rentals. They will not do what is right, they will lie, mislead, and covertly cover up wrongdoing. Buyer beware of Maui Resort Rentals.

This was my first time renting a condo rather than going the hotel route for a vacation. My experience with Kathy and other staff members was professional, personable and efficient. The process went smoothly with no unanswered questions. They were honest about the properties amenities and photos which was a huge concern for me, as it was my first time. The property was clean and well equipped. I highly recommend!!

Use another rental company. They charged the wrong rate. Then added fees when they corrected it. Demanded paperwork return which had the wrong mailing address on it. They were rude saying they did not provide the wrong address. I highlighted it on the returned mail. They harasses us by phone while we were on vacation, interrupted our stay with a handyman visit to fix a problem we did not call in. I would not use them again.
