STAY AWAY from PARRISH KAUAI COLLECTIONS rentals/management co. We were gaslit, treated poorly and punished! We will NEVER STAY AT A PROPERTY RENTED/MANAGED BY PARRISH KAUAI - UNPROFESSIONAL AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their “ALOHA SPIRIT” is NON-EXISTENT. They had our money, there was no other condos available so we were literally backed into a corner. They didn’t care about us having an enjoyable vacation on the beautiful island of KAUAI and they won’t care about you too. As I was writing this review, I saw others on this platform and other review sites that Simone Mccaffrey, sales manager and others in their company have treated them just as poorly and have gaslit them as well - A COMMON THEME. This is how they treat their customers. Simone’s LinkedIn page states, “Our guests are guaranteed a superior vacation due to our unequaled commitment to personal service, attention to detail and true sense of Aloha.” There behaviours toward us could not be more opposite than this. There was NO ALOHA IN HOW WE WERE TREATED! A dream vacation we thought….Rented a 2 bdrm condo in Poipu Beach, Kauai at Poipu Sands #412. We carefully searched for a 2 bdrm accommodation in Poipu Beach (2 families): NO wall to wall carpets due to health issues, ocean view, close to trails, etc., etc. 1 1/2 weeks into our 3 week vacation (Feb 2024), we reported a water leak coming from the above condo, water was dripping from a pot light above the kitchen sink. Leak was fixed same day (a hole was left in ceiling that they needed to come back and fix). Next day we are told they need to URGENTLY move us - to remediate. They advised there were no condos available in the area for the remainder of our stay but they had a house available after completing a walk through of both, we declined them as follows: House 1) Cleaners were just finishing, upon entering the smell of mildew and mould was so overwhelming, carpet in living room was disgusting - stains all over. The pictures and in person visit did not match. House 2) Smell of mildew and carpets - no go. We specifically advised Simone Mccaffrey, sales manager, that we could not have wall-to wall carpets due to health issues of one of our family member. Both houses had carpets. WHY did she provide us with options that did?? She clearly wasn’t giving ANY consideration to our health issue. So we provided Simone with 2 options available on their website that had NO carpets, in the Poipu area, etc. Yes, these were upgrades, but this was based on what they had available. Simone, said these were not in the price range and after being exposed to her gaslighting, I eventually hung up. Through email, we were provided a couple house options on the OTHER side of the island. We reluctantly took the one as there was NO carpet and we had no other options. This home although was very nice on the inside, that’s where it ends! Interesting to note that the rental rate of this home was in the ballpark of one that we provided as an option in the Poipu area- we felt like she was PUNISHING us. So yes, we are justified in saying that we felt we were being punished, as it was a 3 HOUR round trip to the south side of the island which is where we originally booked our condo - we chose the Poipu area (we’ve been to Kauai) weather is warmer, sunnier and less rain - plus we had restaurant reservations to celebrate a few special occasions and other activities reserved and had mapped out all the things we were going to do in the area. Of our 3 week vacation, we WASTED ALMOST A WEEK of our vacation time, our hard earned money was wasted and the joy had been diminished which is priceless. - 3 days dealing with being evicted. This included dealing with calls, emails and waiting for responses, repacking and unpacking everything, including food; and - at least another 3 days of travel time getting to the south side of the island to do some things and back to the north side of the island (where we were relegated to stay). Due to how we were treated by Simone and her establishment, we will NEVER STAY AT A PROPERTY RENTED/MANAGED BY PARRISH KAUAI! As you can see, if you go to Simone Mccaffrey’s LinkedIn page, how we were treated DOES NOT align with how she states she treats customers. NOT ONE BIT!

We were here in October. We had a two bedroom, two bath condo. The condo was large - more than enough room for a family of 4. Plus it had a pull out sofa that we did not use. The view was amazing. The grounds were beautiful. It was a short walk to Shipwreck beach. Poipu beach was also an easy walk. It really was perfect. However, you should know that it does not have a/c. We had lots of fans, but it was a bit warm.

What do you do when you arrive at your long anticipated and very expensive Hawaiian vacation and find your condo is adjacent a smelly and noisy water treatment plant?? This wasn’t mentioned in the host’s website. You booked for the stylish decor, property amenities, location and, of course, the beach. Poipu Sands #525 has all of the above. It’s nicely furnished, well equipped, has a great view and…a vague odor with a constant low engine hum. The host, the Parrish Collection, was responsive to our concerns and advised us that we had few options. Though they manage numerous units in the Poipu Sands development, if they had an available unit to move us to we would be required to pay for both our original and the new unit. At $800 a night you might hope for a more accomodating response. After all, the treatment plant was an unwelcome surprise. Sorry, no. We rolled the travel dice and this was our result. Sometimes you win.

We have stayed in various Poipu Sands condos over the years, with our kids, their friends, our friends and relatives. Poipu Sands is really quiet and the large, long greenbelt is a major plus to the complex. Yes, it is older, but all but one condo I have stayed in have been remodeled and updated. We really like building 4 ground level units. Just across the grass from the BBQ grills, short walk to the pool or Shipwrecks Beach. Parrish does a great job managing the units in Poipu Sands...very clean and lots of little extras! Most recently we were in Poipu Sands 412 and it is A++ The complex is next door to the grand Hyatt Kauai and it is easy to walk over for a cocktail and live music or dinner.

We stayed in unit 522 which overall was somewhat disappointing. The cons: 1) no A/C but " the trade winds" provided adequate ventilation; 2) no safe (a first for us); 3) dated and tired decor with carpets; 4) pool was far away from our unit and didn't have a view of the ocean and you needed a key to access the pool; 5) slow service from the front staff (they replied 24 hours after asking about a safe); 6) no elevator (not a problem for us but anyone with mobility issues wouldn't be able to access units on the upper floors and 7) unable to swim at Shipwreck beach. The pros: 1) large lanai with fabulous views of Shipwreck beach and the Hyatt; 2) large shower with excellent water pressure; 3) well equipped kitchen; 4) fridge had water and crushed ice dispenser; 5) large concrete pool with perfect water. After getting over our error of not reading the fine print about the possibility of not having A/C , we were quite surprised the unit didn't have a safe. But in the end we enjoyed sitting on the large lanai with amazing views.

We had a college reunion in Kauai and stayed in Poipu Sands. All the 4 different units we used were all nice. For our group, #316 is clean, beautifully furnished and well stocked with almost everything one would need for the stay. The curtains were new. The unit has a view of the ocean. We walked the short walk from the terrace to the ocean and watched the sunrise in the morning. Also close to restaurants. I highly recommend Poipu Sands.

We stayed in unit 224. It is a large, modern, well decorated two bedroom and two bathroom unit. The kitchen is extremely well stocked for cooking. It has a big lanai overlooking the pool, ocean, and beautiful grounds. It does not have air conditioning; however, it was very comfortable with ceiling fans & open windows. The location is convenient to many restaurants and beaches. We had an outstanding week in Kauai & highly recommend Poipu Sands.

It was a pleasure to stay at Poipu Sands #124. The unit was larger than expected and our group of four - two adults, 2 kids - never felt ‘on top of’ each other in the space. It was fully stocked from pantry essentials, to dishes, cups, and cookware, to beach towels, laundry essentials and even a portable beach cooler which made daily excursions much easier. The beds were super comfortable and the unit was very clean. And the selection of books and games was very appreciated. I would stay again and highly recommend. Mahalo!

A very well kept little collection of condos in a quiet section of Poipu. Easy access to the beach, and a lovely southern view to the ocean. Really enjoyed the oversized lanai. No AC, but lots of cross breezes to cool the place down. Plenty of parking. Good beds. Lots of space for us to spread out. Very quiet neighbors. Highly recommend.

We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo at Poipu Sands and we could not have been more pleased with the location, amenities, and comfort. A good chunk of our trip was spent looking out at the ocean from our lanai. Very friendly back office staff, who were more than accommodating to help us with our plans during the pandemic in 2020. Could not recommend more highly, and we hope to be back :-)
