I stayed for over 7 months for a work contract, and I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are the friendliest group of people I have ever met. They treated me so well and always went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was the best. They left treats on holidays, loved my kitties, helped me out in many ways, and offered advice for places to visit and good restaurants to try. The room was clean, it was quiet, and they put me far away from the loud areas due to work and taking classes. Everyone was fantastic from Chris, one of the night clerks, to Autumn, the bubby day clerk/helper/person who knew it all and could do it all for you, to the wonderful housekeeping staff, the guy who fixed my refrigerator, Tracy the amazing, Director of Sales, and Becky Jo, the Manager. They were not only there to help with my long-term stay, but they became friends as well. Thank you all. I would highly recommend this hotel and them all!!! Tracey Carter

The room was fine, but the cleaning did not inspire confidence. I had to go out and buy my own cleaning supplies. The ironing board had a booger on it, so I had to dedicate one of my towels to covering up the ironing board. My room had no hair dryer. I was worried about the other reviews about cockroaches, but I never saw any. The walls are incredibly thin, and I could hear neighbors' conversations and other nocturnal activities. The staff seemed fine.

Please save yourself some grief. DON’T STAY HERE. It’s a glorified extended stay motel that wreaks of marijuana and is filthy. They don’t clean your room but once a week and if you need anything (i.e a bath towel), you have to go get it. I do not recommend.

Thank you for your feedback of your stay with us. We understand you were unhappy with the cleanliness of your room and we are very sorry for this experience. We take pride in our guests being satisfied and apologize that we were unable to meet that expectation. The Hotel Management Team will be working with our housekeeping staff to prevent this from happening in the future. Please note that as an extended stay hotel, our full-clean housekeeping service is only done once per week but we do offer a daily refresh upon request. However, if a guest places their Do-Not-Disturb sign on the door, we respect their privacy.

Left a suit jacket in the closet. Called 4 hours later. Asked if they would send it at my expense. Was told no because it was an "invasion of privacy issue". I didn't get it. But they would hold it for a while in lost and found. I explained that I lived 600 miles away that is why I was in their hotel. They suggested I call the next day and speak to the "owners". I did. I offered to give them a credit card for the charges. They would not send it. They explained that this was for my protection. I don't get that either. Very unhappy. I don't think I will ever stay at a Sonesta Suites again if that is their customer service policy.

10 o’clock quiet time? Stay here if you are unemployed, your deaf, have taken many sleeping pills or enjoy staring at the ceiling while belligerent profundities and profanities stream through walls of paper until 2 o’clock am. If I could attach a recording I would have. My recommendation is for Sonesta to buy a white noise machine — some of the guests may be familiar with these from courthouses.

Location convenient: near to pretty good restaurant, quiet, secluded, very comfortable bed and clean kitchen and bath facilities. Sown side the apartment smelled strongly of chemical cleanser of some sort. We arrived late so had no time, patience or energy to address to management and be relocated. We opened windows and ran fan and slept fairly well having to rise early and with a sore throat.

My husband and I booked this hotel for a one night stay because we had a wedding to attend in the area. He checked in in the afternoon and everything looked fine, so he left and we headed to the event. We got back in pretty late, and while I was sleeping he realized how gross this place actually was! He found about 8 cockroaches around the room crawling. This obviously made him look around the room more (taking pictures and video) and there was what appeared to be blood on the door to the bedroom, a burn hole in the blanket, some neon green splatter on the walls by the nightstand, and dust and pet hair all over the place. Since it was so late he decided to just go to bed. We went to check out in the morning and complain, but we stood at the front desk for about 5 minutes waiting for someone. No one ever showed up, and we had to leave to get to the wedding. It was disappointing to have spent as much money as we did and this be the condition that we stayed in.

Great customer service every time I stayed there on business. Chris goes out of his way to accommodate my requests. He even brought the gift bag out of my original room and hand-delivered it to my new room, all on his own. I would not even have known there was a gift bag waiting for me in the original room, had it not been for Chris' thoughtfulness. GM Adrian was equally thoughtful, responding to me with personal emails, which I did not expect. Thank you, Chris and Adrian.

I visited the Candlewood Suites in Hampton, VA for work for a few days in November 2019. I was SO GLAD to have made a reservation there as friends told me about it. I stayed when Virginia had rain all day which turned into snow by the afternoon! It was an unexpected winter storm! Kaylee Gallant was the Hotel Manager. She greeted me when I arrived. I had made my reservation with her as well. She was so positive, welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. She made an outstanding first impression. Then when I went to my room, I was very very pleased. The room was sparkling clean - which I have NEVER seen in a hotel in over 20 years. Really. Then the thermostat was set to be so easy to use - you just digitally select the temperature you would like, and the thermostat functions to attain AND MAINTAIN that temperature. It is just that easy. I was able to set it to 70 as it was SNOWING AND FREEZING by the time I got there, and I never had to touch it again! I was all warm and happy in my room. Kaylee then recommended a wonderful Italian restaurant, Anthony's, and I was stunned when they delivered the world's best PIZZA I have ever had. REALLY. It had this actual thing called CRUST. Baked fresh in their oven. Even in the midst of miserable weather, the delivery man had to return because he forgot my salad dressing - which I appreciated since I had none and did not wish to try to drive and buy some in a city I wasn't familiar with in freezing weather. He had a great attitude and didn't mind at all! This is the place you want to order from - great food and EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Back to the hotel: the room was so clean and perfect to work in since it had a large desk which I needed. It also had a nice-sized refrigerator so I could store lots of water bottles - and the pizza leftovers. I was so impressed with how quiet it was on the third floor too. It is a pet-friendly place, but I didn't hear any dogs barking, etc. The bed was divine. It had a thick and comfortable mattress, with very clean and soft sheets and pillows and linens. That was so appreciated on a frosty night! The TV was wall-mounted and made it easy to watch the news and weather from the desk where I was working. The shower was the best - it had strong water pressure and was nice and hot. PLUS THIS HOTEL HAD SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, AND BODY WASH SOAP in three large bottles in the shower! That was something I have never seen in a hotel! Not little bottles, but large bottles that you would have at home, and very good quality products. That was so convenient and they were wall-mounted too. I also talked to Chris at the front desk, and he shared with me how HE LOVED HIS JOB and how CANDLEWOOD treats employees, he said. How nice to see happy employees! I also praised the Housekeeping Manager because she sets the tone for how clean the hotel is and how well that is maintained. Kaylee brought me extra towels when I thought I'd have to stay for another night, which was so nice and again, exceptional customer service. Parking was plentiful and I parked right in front of the building, and I was able to see my car from my room. They had a convenience store so you can buy water and other items, plus they have FREE YES, FREE LAUNDRY! Plus a small gym! The people, the place, the cleanliness, the peace and quiet, the amenities, the quality of the rooms, THE FANTASTIC LOCATION IN A WOODED BUSINESS PARK, located by the highway, all contributed to a very enjoyable stay. The place was very secure and safe too. I can actually say that nothing was sub-par. There was not one thing to complain about! I even FORGOT my cell phone charger, and HOUSEKEEPING TURNED IT IN TO THE FRONT DESK AND KAYLEE MAILED IT TO ME! I would give them 10 stars if I could. I travel a lot, and this is the place to stay for me from now on when I am in Virginia - or anywhere they have Candlewood Suites.

My family and I absolutely loved staying at this hotel. There was enough room for me, my husband, my son, and two dogs to have our own space. The room was clean and organized and had everything we needed! The staff was so helpful and friendly! Gentleman at the front desk was so thorough and knowledgeable! All the services this hotel offered was so nice! Free laundry, snack bar, fitness room... all so lovely! Thank you for a great stay!
