Tony welcomed us very enthusiasticly and efficiently. He was so nice. We staid in the Aiken Room. It was very cute and well decorated. But it is not a good choice for a "romantic" night. The bed and headboard and the TV stand rattle, squeak and wobble. Otherwise the Inn is very nice, a great location and well cared for..

We came to Salado to celebrate my husband's birthday and ended up staying here after changing our hotel last minute. There was a mix-up with the booking site we used and the staff at Inn At the Creek did everything they could to fix it even though they weren't at fault. We really appreciated the service and the hospitality they showed us. We really liked the breakfast charcuterie assortment which was delivered to our room. We stayed in the Salado College Quarters which was a quick walk to shops, the museum, restaurants, galleries, and historic sites nearby. We'll definitely come back and stay here again.

My mom and I stayed at the Inn on the Creek because we were in the area for a doctor’s appt in Temple. We usually just stay in a Holiday Inn, but we love Salado and I wanted us to have a mother-daughter mini getaway. We are both so glad we stayed here! The property is just lovely and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have several options for rooms spread over the 14 acre property; our room was in the Holland House. We stayed in the Willingham Room which has a king size bed, a love seat and bathroom with a mini fridge and coffee station. The room is very spacious has a nice fire place (not that we used it in the Texas heat). The bed was so comfortable and we both slept well which is rare for my mom. There is a porch on the main house with benches and a swing to enjoy watching wild life and enjoying the scenery with the creek and beautiful sunset. We were able to see several deer up close while sitting on the creek bank, and a doe actually left her two fawns close to our room while she was finding her own dinner. It was so neat! There are two restaurants on the property to eat lunch/dinner. They aren’t open every day so make sure to check the schedule before planning a meal there. The Shed is a casual place with delicious southern food and Alexander’s is a fine dining place. For breakfast, you can either eat with the other guests in the main house, or they will deliver it to your room. We chose to eat in the dining area which was very nice and the breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cheese, a boiled egg, and a fresh baked blueberry muffin. I was delicious! They also served coffee and orange juice, but they would make you a mimosa as well. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back to stay!

Arrived at the Inn very excited because it was our Anniversary, unloaded our things and went inside only to find out that the room we booked was not even on the main property. When we booked online it said nothing about it not being at the "main house" I did not even know there were different properties. We were told our room was down the street and around the corner. Even thought the room was cute, bed was soft, and ac worked great, there was no view of the creek, no hammock, no dining, no bar...nothing we were looking forward to. We tried to make the best of it and walked down to the Shed. Was seated and ordered drinks and before we even asked what we wanted to eat, we realized the air was not working. Sweat was dripping down my face and back. We just left and ended up driving to Johnnys which was GREAT! Once we got back we decided to walk down to the creek which was nice. We did see some deer and I did love that. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted to come to the house and eat or if we wanted it brought to our room, of course we had it brought to the room! We wanted to sleep in and thought it would be nice. Again, so excited for the FULL BREAKFAST as it stated online "every room includes a full breakfast" and they showed up with a trey of yogurt, boiled eggs, bread and cheese. I was so upset we just packed up and left early. If we do ever go back to Salado, we will stay somewhere else.

Hello, we are sorry that your anniversary weekend wasn't everything you had hoped for. Our website lists the different areas in which the rooms are located, and contains our property map. We are sped out over several acers. Some of our guests prefer to stay closer to Main street and The Shed, while others want to be closer to the creek and Alexander's Craft Kitchen and Cocktail. As for breakfast, we changed our breakfast after covid, to the breakfast charcuterie board with the option to dine in or have it delivered to your room. Our website lists it as an upscale continental breakfast. If you could please help us by telling us where you got your information so that I can make sure it gets updated. Again, we pride ourselves on hospitality and we are sorry we didn't provide you with the weekend you were hoping for.

Beautiful historic inn, well-maintained grounds, excellent staff (thanks, Tony!), delicious continental breakfast, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, wonderful plush robes. We were in the Fowler Room (located in the main Manor), which had a lovely view of the creek. We enjoyed sitting in the rockers on the back porch in the evening, watching the deer and ducks along the creek. Don't miss eating at The Shed and at Alexander's!

Not only was the Holland House and each room well kept and comfortable but the location was beautiful. From the creek to the bamboo Forrest to the grounds, this is a paradise tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Special shout out to Jason who is one of the friendliest people we’ve ever met but really, everyone at the Inn at the Creek deserves praise. THIS is what a B&B is supposed to be. Thank you again for such a great stay.

The Inn on the Creek consists of several buildings so this review is specifically for bungalow 3. The building that houses the bungalows is one street over from the main inn. My sister and I stayed in a 2-bedroom bungalow on the 2nd floor. The pros: It was very spacious with a living area, kitchen, dining area, bathroom, 2 bedrooms (and even an additional room off the kitchen with a daybed), also a lovely closed-in porch and an additional balcony. This a great choice for a family or a friends' get-together. It is nicely decorated, there is plenty of closet and drawer space, and comfortable seating. The cons: The building is old and could use a bit of refurbishment. I noticed that a couple of windows in our bungalow had small gaps between the window and frame. They did not do a very good job of keeping out the constant noise from I-35. If you are a light sleeper I would recommed ear plugs or a white noise machine. I think that replacing the windows with a sound-resistant variety would go a long way in terms of quietness and energy efficiency. Also, we could not find a dishrag to wash our dishes with. But there were dish towels for drying. The Inn provides a continental breakfast that can be brought to your room or can be eaten in the main dining room. This is not a full-cooked breakfast as you might find in a B&B. It consists of yogurt, granola, fruit, fresh-baked sweet bread, boiled egg, and cheese. Also OJ and coffee. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds around the main inn and creek area are beautiful to walk around. The bungalow was a quick walk to Main street where the shops and restaurants are. I would certainly stay at Inn on the Creek again. But I would probably check out one of the rooms in one of the other buildings.

We booked another hotel in Salado and were so disappointed we checked out early and moved to the Inn for our last night. The only regret is we did not do it earlier. The family, the staff, the restaurant, the Inn......we just fell in love.

This was a milestone trip for me as I just turned 65. This place was very relaxing and we really enjoyed our dinner at the Alexander! We stayed in the Aiken room. We were just looking for somewhere to go not too far from home in the Katy area. We found this gem just a couple of weeks ahead of time. We really liked Salado too. We will be back.

So many good reviews of this place. I hate to be a wet blanket. Here’s a few of too many reasons they did not meet our expectations: Our stay started at Alexander’s Restaurant for a 3 course dinner. All food was served cold. I heard someone at dinner say “for a small, laid back community, this place certainly has a lot of rules”. Bingo. Not used to an Inn keeper bossing us around and locking us out of the lobby and the restaurant until they were ready for guests…on two consecutive rainy days. At breakfast, everyone was asked to leave 1 hour after being allowed in after waiting in the rain. We were told it was due to short staffing. All of the adirondack chairs on patios and lawn overlooking the creek are covered in green mold and not usable. Tonkawa room is nasty, moist, smells bad, has a motel unit AC that is old, noisy, doesn’t work well. 1 flat pillow each. Perhaps it’s all a fluke but for us there are many other B&B options in Salado. Hoping they take this feedback as constructive.
