The construction rises on a hill, from here we can enjoy a splendid view on those nearby valleys. The house has been recently restaured and divided into 5 apartments and 5 rooms. Apartments and rooms look out on the garden, where we can admire different varieties of plants and flowers. On the surrounding space, you can find many relax areas, such as the characteristic "Concimaia", a very panoramic place endowed with pavilion, table, chairs and a romantic swing. In the west, close to the construction, we can find a little natural lake, habitat of ducks and frogs, whose croaking amplifies the feeling of close contact with nature. For nature and good form's lovers, Podere Benintendi offers the opportunity of walking and training in the open air. The structure is endowed with a very big swimmingpool (4,5x17 m). Guests can enter into the pool through a roman flight of steps that dips softly into the water. Here you can spend pleasant instants steeped in relax and welfare. Close to the pool, under the wonderful terrace made up of stones, is the characteristic "Enoteca" in rustic style, where you can buy oil of our production. Adjoining to the Entoteca, you can find the gymnasium, that guests can use free.

This was one of my favorite accommodations in my Tuscany trip because it was so unique! It’s located close to Certaldo a medieval hamlet in the heart of the Val d’Elsa which is incredibly charming and worth spending a few hours in. It is also where the famous Italian writer Boccaccio (author of Decameron) was born. Bocaccio was a great fan of Dante Alighieri, and our room in Podere Benintendi was inspired after Dante! Some of his books were displayed as well as a drawing of his unequivocal face profile on one of the walls and a quote from Dante’s Paradiso on the other. The room has unique pieces of decoration such as an amazing chair-nigh-table-and-lamp piece of furniture. When I woke up here and peeked through the window and couldn’t believe my eyes! Podere Benintendi is located at the top of a hill and in that foggy morning, we were sitting above the clouds. The view was unbelievable and I felt so blessed of having been able to experience it. After documenting that enchanting morning through photos and videos, we went to the lobby for breakfast which was extremely complete with lots of home made delicacies and many options to choose from. We then spent the morning exploring the estate as there is a lake, an aromatic herb garden, and nice quaint corners with sculptures or fun details spread allover. There’s also a pool, a gym, a billiard room and a shop where they sell their self branded wine, limoncello, marmalade and olive oil at very competitive prices.

We were recommended to stay here from friends and it did not disappoint. Exceptional value. Lovely clean rooms, beautiful breakfast and dinners and a lovely pool area. It’s also close to the must see Old Certaldo and a short drive to the train. A lovely family business.

Beautiful and clean place in the heart of Toscana. The location is advantageous because you are very close to places like S.Gimignano, Firenze, Siena, Motepulciano, Montalcino etc. The family who owns this place is very friendly. The breakfast buffet is very nice and rich. There is a pool and even a gym. Ther is a shared kitchen if you want to cook/prepare your own dinner. The area is very peaceful. Especially the evenings are very calm and quiet, which creates a nice escape from the rush of everyday living.

I visited podere benintendi in June for a whole week. We only wished we could stay longer. The accommodation is very well kept with beautiful gardens all around. We enjoyed visiting the towns nearby. The owners are so nice and welcoming. We also had a chance to have dinner and food was divine. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday, with beautiful surroundings and an outstanding property with all amenities you can require.

My husband and I spent a few days at Podere and our host, Nicola, was there to welcome us. Nichola is the perfect host who knows the area, best restaurants and places of interest. The weather wasn’t great for us and rained every day which was a shame. I would suggest Nichola provide blankets in the bedrooms (the ones there are too thin and yes, I perhaps could have asked for one). Our apartment was adequate and clean, a typical Italian accommodation in design. Fabulous , decent sized, pool set in stunning surroundings.

We visited in April and stayed for 6 nights. We could have stayed another 6 months! Accommodation is very clean and well presented, hosts helpful and welcoming and the setting is absolutely phenomenal. It took our breath away every time we looked out of our window! There is ample land to explore and only 1 hour from Siena, Pisa and Florence. Be sure to visit Certaldo Alto, San Gimignano and Volterra. I would give this place a higher rating than excellent if this were possible!!!!!

The hotel couldn't be more perfectly positioned, being in a rural setting but close to amenities.Easy driving to Sienna, San Gimignano and Chianti region and train ride to Florence. The rooms were beautiful, breakfast on the terrace with a view of pool and the rolling hills was varied with a choice of fresh home made cake every morning. Being able to use a communal kitchen and buy wine from the amply stocked cellar was indeed a bonus. The views from our room were picture postcard perfect, the staff were friendly at welcoming. Everything we needed for a perfect holiday in a beautiful part of Italy.

Stunning views were our first impressions and then to have a fabulous welcome to our traditional Italian style holiday retreat. Our apartment was perfect for our family of four adults. It had a spacious veranda with panoramic views of the olive groves. We kept our food in the fridge and didn't not have any issues with insects, the air conditioning worked efficiently with the temperature of 37oC. We had a traditional feast twice, provided for us by the Benintendi family, which was delightful. Thank you for a relaxing stay. Lisa Farrall x

Excellent location, stunning views, great staff, very good breakfast .We were 4 people at three room apartment. It was very comfortable, lot of space, clean bathrooms. The heating system was working properly. Still, you have to be tolerant for insects when staying between beautiful fields and hills of Tuscany.
