The Junction... Where country vibe and prices- meets city service.. The Junction Motel is a clean, value for money 30 room, Motel and Function Centre situated in the picturesque town of New Norfolk, the gateway to the West Coast and Wilderness National Parks- Mt Field, Styx Valley and Lake Pedder. The "Best Food experience" awarding winning Agrarian Kitchen is 10 mins walk away. Whilst also being just 30 minutes from Tasmania's capital city - Hobart or what the locals call Slobart. Also only 15 minutes away from the much controversial and Fabulous Mona Museum of Old and New Art at Moorilla Estate Vineyard (Berridale). Port Arthur and the Huon-Valley are about one and a half hours drive from New Norfolk.
An interesting eclectic collection of posters, outside seating with an excellent bar and very knowledgeable host who stocks Yamazaki whisky so must also have good connections. Seems to know everyone from cheese makers to wineries to Vodka makers down South. We dined in, excellent home style meal, and breakfast was around a single table which provided an opportunity to swap knowledge. Would recommend as a base instead of $$$ Hobart as not far from MONA, HBA, or Huon . Will definitely stay next time we visit TAS.

This place is run by someone who cares - clean, comfortable, but with bonuses beyond that. 2 minutes and you are walking beside a rushing brook. 10 minutes and you are strolling the main street. Your leap into Mt Field, Gordon river dam, Lake Peddar, the Creepy, Crawly trail, Junee falls is best made from here. Your motel has an outdoor gallery and posters and pictures festoon every wall. Tim is a friendly, knowledgable and interesting character of great generosity. New Norfolk grows on you, with aboriginal and settler history, along with antique things.

I booked here because the hotels in my price range in Hobart were full. I'm so glad I did! It was a comfy, safe haven. It's a unique motel with a lot of character and that balances out the parts that could do with some updating. I fell in love with the gorgeous scenery in the New Norfolk area, and it was a good hub for my tourist travels in Tassie. The owner is very helpful and provides a nice continental breakfast. The cafe was closed during the time I was there, but the room service pizza was great. I had a fantastic day trip to Mount Field National Park and it was a gorgeous 30-40 minute drive from the motel. Amazing waterfalls and accessible hikes. The funky MONA museum was about 20 minutes away. I had a great time exploring their quirky collection and the museum cafe…

Stayed recently. Management & staff very friendly & hospitable. Rooms & service provided are awesome. Great onsite menu. Would be my first consideration for my next booking requirement within a 100k radius maybe more. Don't book online call direct.

My wife and I were looking for an overnighter close to Hobart. I stumbled on this venue whilst browsing the net. It's certainly quirky with all sorts of art works in the rooms and outside. The room was clean, bed good, shower good and heating soon warmed the room up. The included continental breakfast was well presented. Good value for money here!

We chanced on this place and really enjoyed the experience. It was quiet despite being on the road to Hobart. The room was spacious and the cafe was a bonus. We loved the decor with the use of zany colours and artworks, and for a really reasonable price. Good value for money also.

This place was amazing. Perfectly priced for our random stay. The owner knew my partners name and remembered it. That this day in age is a huge thing. Total professionalism in owners manner. And very friendly. The room we stayed was quaint. Cute. Warm and super homely. If we ever end up back in NNF we will stay here no questions asked. Everything we needed was there. Thank so much. The Service you guys provide is hard to find these days. Cheers. Ben and Bec. :)

Quirky decor, very friendly staff and warm comfy bed and room at a budget price. A wonderful surprise, really can't rate it high enough for value for money. Also included a great continental brekkie delivered to our room - enough for lunch. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very good, the tandoori chicken was delicious and my hubby really enjoyed his pizza and the meals were very well priced. Overall a great stay service with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms have everything you need including oversized bath towels! We would definitely stay here again, can't go past it for good value stay.

Live in New Norfolk but dined here for the first time. Great food and atmosphere. Such a step up from the local pubs. Recommended to locals and travellers alike. A real find. We will certainly be back.
