Going to Les Aromes is always a delight as so many reviewers note about the welcome service and cuisine never failing to be excellent. That the reviews include those in French and full of praise indicates the best that can be said for this charming hotel with its unique restaurant. The menu is of the chef's devising and reflects his innate knowledge of the Aveyron melded with that of the Perigord providing taste and aesthetic pleasure with panache but also with the delicacy of an emerging and contemporary offer.

We found this hotel by chance on our way back home. And in turned out to be a little gem. The staff was very friendly. The room was a bitt small but we very happy to have found a room at all. The real surprise was the diner. We both took the eur 24 menu (4 courses) and it was delicious. Very well presented plates with very tastefull food. When in the neigbourhood we can surely recommend this restaurant and hotel.

Littlebit oldfashined hotel in the middle of nowhere Its a very very small town with nothing to do. For diner you can eat in the hotel, which we didn`t because the staff was not so very friendly, or you have to go to another town about 12 km away Hotel was clean, wifi was weak

The town of Negro des offers little except to be on the way somewhere in the Dordogne. That's why we stopped. This family run hotel seems to have had a makeover to look more trendy and modern. The room (we had a room with balcony to avoid the noisy street side) is bright and cosy. Like a lot of ancient hotels those days, Thera lack of plugs to recharge all the appliances we all travel with nowadays. But we managed. The bathroom is quite small but enough for an overnight stay. We had a nice regional dinner in the courtyard. The service is friendly and helpful. I'm not a jam person for breakfast and when I ask for something more savoury, they brought me a cheese plate. Perfect! All I needed.

The quality of the food here is fantastic! A hidden gem. Food comparable to a good restaurant in any major city at a fraction of the price. I would eat there again tomorrow! Foie gras with pineapple chutney, succulent turbot, delicious local cheeses & trio of creme brulees... All for €33!!

I booked an hour before I arrived. Les Aromes is in the village of Negrondes, about 10km south of Thiviers. It is a typical French logis/relais and mainly caters to French travellers and consequently only minimal English is spoken. Between us, with my even more minimal French, we communicated and I had a short but pleasant stay. They only have about 10 rooms and all seem to have been recently refurbished. I opted for the very keenly priced Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package at 69 euros. Dinner (soup/confit duck/cheese platter) was very enjoyable. I would happily stay here again.
