The Alpine Homestead sits in the quaint little Irish village of Olmstedville, in the town of Minerva, New York. Our location in the Adirondack Park is ideal for Fall and Winter sports and activities as well as Spring and Summer outdoor fun. Hiking, rafting, skiing, boating, and fishing can all happen just minutes from our back door. Looking for relaxation and peacefulness, you will find it with us. Our 1850's home was renovated by us in 2006. Antique furnishings are throughout our home, yet it is warm and welcoming and very relaxing. Three of our guest rooms have private baths for your convenience. The other two rooms share a bath. The whole house rental can accommodate 13 people.
We enjoyed our stay at this secluded bed and breakfast before we picked our son up from Deerfoot Camp. Very peaceful after our long drive. We were glad to be able to walk to the wonderful restaurant next door, The Owl at Twilight. The hosts are a lovely couple, and the baked oatmeal was absolutely delicious!

The Alpine Homestead is a lovely departure from standard B&B life - it is a rambling home, beautifully restored, but cozy and welcoming without being overbearing. It's a very difficult thing to balance, and Barry and Peg pull it off beautifully. The breakfast was great (baked oatmeal), the rooms well appointed and clean, and the bathrooms have great linens (the bathrobes are divine!), piping hot water with good water pressure. It's all a great experience, and we had a really great time.

This B & B is so lovely, comfortable, warm, welcoming and more. The breakfasts were a slice of heaven. The porch (and hummingbirds) were so enticing, fun and relaxing. But the best part of our 3 nights there was the hosts, Peggy and Barry. They made us feel like family, yet used all their best china and bedding on us:-)....strangers in their lovely home. This place is for sale so the next owners have huge shoes to fill.

In a word - wow! I've stayed at many B&B's over the years, and this one is really special. The house is immaculate, beautifully decorated, with a wonderful sense of history (being from 1850), and overall so lovely. Even so, it is the owners that really add that special touch - they feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. So warm and friendly - simply delightful. We had great conversations with Peggy and Barry over the weekend. The breakfasts were amazing, and served on such gorgeous heirloom china - made us feel very pampered. Loved the front porch and sitting out there in the morning with coffee delivered to me from Barry. Really hope the next owners have the same love for the home that Barry and Peg do! Would highly recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed in this B & B while passing through this small town. The owners of this B &B were just lovely, as was the decor of the house. The beds were very comfy, as were the pillows and a special kudos for the absolutely scrumptious bathrobes! There was an inviting wrap around porch which overlooked an eye pleasing garden. Close by to a great restaurant where you can walk to in a jiffy. Breakfast included a lot of tasty homemade goodies including baked oatmeal, breads, eggs, lots of coffee! I would highly recommend this B&B to summer travelers as well as the winter ski vacationers.

My wife and I were there for 2 nights for our 23rd anniversary 07/31/2016. Barry & Peg are just the best ever, very accommodating to any need you may have. We had the best time sitting in the dining room at breakfast with the other guests discussion was lively and interesting especially because Barry and Peg know everything there is to know about the area. GREAT PLACE!!!!!!!!! BTW the breakfast was amazing!!!!!!

Stayed here recently while my friend was visiting her daughter at a nearby summer camp. As it turned out, all of the other guests were there for the same reasons, so immediately there was some level of automatic camaraderie. As for myself, I was there for company and so I had the house relatively to myself for most of the day. From greeting to departure, we experienced warmth and genuine friendliness from a very nice couple who obviously have a love for this unique business. The room/bed was very comfortable with a private air conditioner. The bathroom facility was clean and homey with a very nice shower. The great room is very spacious with plenty of seating and windows, allowing for a nice breezy cross ventilation even on a warm summer day. The front porch also had plenty of seating and little tables which adorned the space and wrapped around to another corner of the house. The breakfast was served fresh and hot. The recipes were delicious and the portions were generous enough to make us all quite satisfied. The owners have coffee and tea ready at about 6 a.m. each morning for early risers. Also as an added bonus, there is a "mi casa, su casa" attitude for the guests, as they allowed us to come freely in and out of the kitchen to use glasses, utensils, ice, etc. A great example of a real American Bed and Breakfast.…

Needed a budget friendly place to spend the night so I chose the "economy room" at this B&B based on other reviews. So glad I did! Cozy, quiet, clean and inviting! Delicious 4 course breakfast included! Barry and Peg are delightful hosts, my daughter and I felt welcomed and pampered from the first to the last minutes of our stay!
