Dinner the first night was very good. That’s the good news. We stayed in the Carriage house . The room was very large with a vaulted ceiling. In the giant room was a king sized bed which was 30 feet away from the little TV sitting on a dresser. Essentially you needed binoculars to see the set. The furniture consisted of two wobbly dinning room chairs next to a small table. When you have a giant room you would think there would be a chair or couch to sit on. I went to look for ice in the building and was told I had to walk across the parking lot in the rain to get it at the front desk. Last year I stayed on the first floor only to hear the roar of a car engine parked three feet from my window in the morning. I thought the second floor would be an improvement. The only benefit was I didn’t have to go to the gym because I got to make a few trips carrying my suitcases to the second floor. There is no third floor so I guess I’m done staying at the Brewster in.

My husband and I love staying there since it’s just under 30 minutes from Syracuse campus. The rooms are historic but have modern touches that you need and always clean! #11 this time was perfect! The restaurant downstairs does not disappoint. Last night was lively and food is always great! This place is truly a gem for the price!

Year after year, visit after visit, the Brewster Inn offers consistently high quality food, service and fun. I appreciate the owners constant investment in the property and the excellence of the waitstaff (many of them have been there for many years). Truly a gem! - and I sure know gems.

The staff was friendly, and very helpful. Our room was impressive, spacious and well appointed. Lots of space to spread out, with a large bathroom. We had room 7 which had a private balcony with a beautiful view overlooking Cazenovia Lake. The inn is walking distance of the town, which is pretty small, but enjoyable. There is also a private beach and dock area. The circular staircase to the second floor is a little difficult to navigate, but do able.

We stayed at the Brewster Inn on Sunday night, 9/26/21. The fall decorations on the front porch were very welcoming and the lobby area is beautiful! We reserved room #3, which was on the 2nd floor at the top of the steps. It was a pretty quiet room with a nice view of the lake. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom big and roomy. Plenty of counter space. The shower was large with 2 shower heads. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice. Great server...Zach! Wonderful food. Most of the people at the Inn seemed to be for dinner only . The next morning there were very few cars left in the parking lot. I wish we could have stayed longer and walked around the town of Cazenovia. Next time! We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning.

Great dinner views of the lake. But overpriced menu and truly awful hotel experience. Stayed here on our wedding night 33 years ago. Was great then. Not so great now. Returned for three nights this August. Flys in the room and maid chatter in the hallway could be overlooked. But no internet on one day and very weak signal on the others made it impossible to work from the hotel, which charged $190+ per room night plus service fees. That, too, could be forgiven. S**t happens. But the staff response to my queries and concerns was unacceptable. Clueless and rude. I approached three different people at different times of day. As a former hotel executive, I am firm but respectful when I bring up issues to staff. Morning front desk person, if not a relative, should not be guest facing. I did hear the inn was sold recently, would may account for the consistently poor performance. Then, again you’d hope new owners would bring new energy and attention to this special property. Hope they get their act together soon.

Wonderful overnight stay. Beautiful location right on the lake. Accommodation was very nice. Dinner was superb . The best service , so friendly and accommodating. The owner gave us a tour of the wine cellar - exceptional. This was our first visit. Will definitely be back soon. Bar tenders inside and out were terrific.

When a restaurant as great as The Brewster Inn offers a bespoke private dinner one’s expectations are high. We enjoyed being the first “1890 Table” diners. Cut to the chase it was perfect and spectacular. It seem the whole staff played a role with JoJo the event planner thinking ahead for everything. The kitchen chefs truly had an opportunity to show off with exclusive execution of a myriad of dishes from a menu created from conversations between us and them. The dinner, 7 courses over 3.5 hours while sitting in our elegantly set and flowered lakeside table was leisurely with great expression of style and craft by I’m sure the whole kitchen but a special tip of the toque to Ryan and David. Our server Molly was such an important part of the joy, and of course, Dottie, Kirk, Caitlin and Stephen. This was a truly memorable special night in our lives, so much more than “just” a great meal. Sign up before the summer is over. #makingmemories #grandcuisine #overthetop

Under the cloak of Covid I wanted to take my wife away for a weekend safely. Persued a place new and not far. The Brewster was perfect. What a hidden gem. Wonderfully vintage with roots in the gilded era. They spoil you start to finish. Great staff. Caitlin took us down old servants passage to private wine cellar featured in Wine Spectator. No reason to leave, room had private enclosed 2nd story porch overlooking lake. Restaurant same special attention, server Steve was the bomb. The food was fantastic. All around 5 star.
