Very Pleasantly surprised, we stayed here October 2023, Melissa in the front office was very nice and accommodating, the grounds were clean and well maintained, the rooms were very clean and well kept, the beds and linens were clean and well kept. You never know what you’re gonna get with places like this but we really liked it. The rooms were a bit small but decorated nicely, had a boutique motel vibe to it. Very fun to stay in such a historical motel. 👍👍

Traveling Route 66 and found this place in the book we are using. When we realized we could make this in our day, I called and luckily they had a room vacancy. Very cute place, sat outside with a bonfire that night, and very cute room. So glad we were able to stay.

What a gem. A wonderful step back in time! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful in the day but wait until you see that neon light up at night! This is a must stop on your route 66 road trip! There is a cute shop for souvenirs or a cold drink in the office!

This stop was part of our Route 66 eastbound cross country drive. We actually didnt spend the night at the motel, but we walked around the property and enjoyed the nostalgia of this classic Mobilgas station. While the pumps are the immediate eye catcher, the more compelling piece of history is a walk over to the 1950s Chevrolet, which is parked a top an old maintenance hole.

We stopped here whilst driving Route 66 and to be honest we were slightly disappointed after reading all the wonderful reviews. Firstly despite making a booking on line some time ago for which I had an email receipt our booking had been entered into the manual diary on the wrong date. Luckily Connie had a room free but it was more expensive than we had first booked. It might be an English thing but because it was their mix up we didn’t expect to pay the extra however we did in order to secure accommodation. The room itself is fairly compact but it was clean and had everything we needed. The shower, however, was broken with no holder. When we mentioned this the next day we were told “the part is on order”. Meeting some fellow guests around the central seating area was the highlight of our visit along with discovering there was a laundry for which Connie willingly changed up some dollars to quarters. We left feeling that whilst Connie is a lovely friendly lady she is struggling to cope which is not being helped by a nightmare time trying to recruit staff. It’s an issue that seems to transcend the Atlantic post Covid.

What a pleasant stay at the Wagon Wheel Motel. If you are traveling the Mother Road (66) you need to stop and book a night or two. It's a unique experience. The grounds are very nice with places to sit and converse with fellow travelers. Also a nice patio to spend some time on. The bed was great, and it was quiet assuring me of a great nights sleep. The Wagon Wheel is a piece of history and if you have the opportunity, spend a night or two. Connie and her staff will make sure you have a great stay.

I could not wait to stay at the Wagon Wheel Motel on my route 66 trip! and I was not dissappointed. I got there after the office closed so I called the number on the door, got the last room available over the phone, no hassle! and she told me she left the room key under the front mat; felt like the small town I grew up in, super safe and friendly! the room was very clean and tidy. Small, but it was just for me so it was perfect! the buildings are so beautiful and the grounds were super nice, seating areas all around for visiting with fellow travelers, I will definitely be staying here again on my travels! what I loved the most is that it did not feel like a typical motel/hotel!

We loved our stay at the Wagon Wheel. Connie was wonderful and made our visit very memorable. Our room was fantastic, with a hot tub and huge bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and we sat outside around the fire pit and visited with other travelers

The motel is one of the oldest continously operating on Rt 66. The outside of the motel looks like English cottages on the front side but not so charming on the back side. We had one of the cottage rooms that had been remodeled to be vintage. The fridge looked like a mini 50s fridge and the table resembled at table at the local malt shop. The problem was that the room was designed for a double bed and there was a queen bed in it's place. There was very little room to get around the bed on either side. It appears that the original tub was removed and a shower was installed. The shower was the size of a cruise ship shower and difficult to use. Unfortunately the gift shop was closed.
