We were looking for a smaller family run resort. This is it. The owners are so nice and made us feel right at home. The property is great. There is a nice beach, a few docks for fishing and planty of open space for kids to run around. Additionally, they had fire pits set up and a playground for the kids.

We had a fantastic and relaxing time at the resort. The resort is about two minutes from Nevis. Nevis is a nice little town with a little grocery store, a bar or two, an ice cream shop and a few other stores. There is also a nice paved trail which starts in Nevis and goes some twenty miles. It is great for biking or running.

We will be back next summer. Thanks

Visited the Royal Starr Resort the last week of July, a great gathering place for fun and games with family. Owners friendly and very accommodating. Resort on 6th Crow Wing Lake between Nevis and Park Rapids. Good fishing, and fun beach for the whole family. Cabins spacious, nicely decorated and well maintained as well as the grounds. Recommended for a serene and picturest getaway.

We have been gathering together at the Royal Starr each summer for the last eight plus years. Ernie and Linda are fun and involved--the perfect hosts. Our family has rented a number of different cabins. All have been clean, well supplied and with comfortable beds! We enjoy the swimming, fishing, boating, hiking and beautiful views. It is the perfect retreat for our extended family!!

We had a three bedroom, two bath cabin for a week to relax with our son and his family. The cabin was great, located right on the water with a well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed all the activities offered at the resort. Some guests chose to spend all their time fishing, others never fished at all and enjoyed the swimming beach with its fun rafts and water toys. Ernie and Linda are great owners who are frequently seen visiting with families and renewing long-time friendships. Linda has a fun craft hour that kids all enjoy weekly. They have wonderful popcorn available in the lobby every afternoon, so that's a fun treat to enjoy. We really appreciated the amenities at this resort and hope to return.

Once again, our 2014 stay at Royal Starr was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Linda & Ernie are great hosts. That's why it's our vacation of choice. We've gone to "The Starr" hit and miss for many years and get just as excited to go now as the first time. The cabins are top notch - the best around. Clean, homey, with all the comforts of home. The scenery is beautiful and the fishing is great. With 3 Crow Wing Lakes connected, fishing options are endless. We had children with our group ages 6 mos. to 15 years. They all had a fun time. From crafts for the kids to the Holey Board Tourney to minnow races, there is plenty to do. Thanks Ernie and Linda for another terrific week.

My husband and I needed to get away for a couple of nights and came across this resort. We couldn't have been happier with the outcome. While they normally only rent by the week, they had a cabin available and rented it to us for a couple of nights. I am a bit picky when it comes to cleanliness and the cabin was spotless! They had so many things available to their renters: life jackets, water toys, paddle boats, paddle boards, boats, pontoons. They had a corn hole tournament you could sign up for and even an exercise class on the beach. The owners bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. This will come to the top of our list for a family reunion spot.

Our first stay at Royal Starr was fantastic. We couldn't have asked for better hosts. They're new owners this year and so friendly and already doing an outstanding job. Our kids had a blast on the lake and at the resort. I had fun fishing and and it's great ski lake too. Who knew Holey Board would be so fun?! Thanks Kerry and Shelley, we can't wait until next time!

This is a family tradition. Linda and Ernie are the best host you could ask for. Great rates, great fishing and Awesome cabins to fit any size group. We have stayed in #1 #6 #8 and #9 depending on the size of our group in previous years. They are all VERY clean and nicely furnished. Lake view from every cabin. Fish 5th 6th and 7th Crow Wing Lakes without pulling your boat. Walleye Large mouth Blue Gill Sunfish for the kids!

We've been managing to make a summer trip to the Royal Starr a family tradition since 2009! What a blessing!
Our multi-generational family group loves the Starr. Linda and Ernie are kind and thoughtful hosts.
We now need to rent 3 cabins instead of one to accommodate our larger and older group.
The resort itself is beautifully located on the lake and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. The resort supplies canoes, sit on kayaks and paddle boats not to mention a swimming bong or the beach is simply a comfortable place to sit and relax.
The cabins are super clean and well laid out for families. The extra sinks and vanities in the bedrooms of the newer cabins make for more harmonious family time!

Our teenage daughters sum up the spirit of time at the Starr best. They say that sometimes we go on more adventurous vacations but they always want to go back to the Starr because its the place where everyone relaxes and slows down.
