A rustic motel located in the heart of NW Michigan in the quant village of Kalkaska, MI. Many local attractions with in 40 minutes in any direction. Trails, lakes, Lake Michigan Charters, casinos, many wonderful local restraunts and shoppes.
NO DISABLED WITH SERVICE DOGS. A mantinance worker Craig C. Hill threatened a 100% disabled combat veteran just out of surgery on his first trip in 3 years out of house Because he had a service dog. Told him it was fake and he couldn't wait till they stop all service animals. Because they actually have to shampoo and clean the top sheets when you leave. He gave his name and phone number so the veteran can call a lawyer. Fridgerator had a hole in it and no cups in room

Older motel but good value for the area. Room was clean, comfy bed, good A/C, fridge, micro, plenty of ice. The hot water took a long, long time to get hot. Breakfast was coffee, cereal, milk, muffins. The room was stated to be "Entire unit wheelchair accessible" on Booking.com but the doorway into the bathroom was not wide enough for a wheelchair.

I am a return guest at this everchanging Motel, the last time I was in I had an issue with the girl at front desk, which never occurred before, well now since back, she seems to be gone and things seem to be looking up. My room was warm with a light on for me when I arrived. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and made me feel welcome. I am happy to say I will be back again and I hope these bad comments get turned around because they do not at all reflect my experience at this Motel.

Manager over books rooms, she tells you that your room is ready then gives it to someone else while your are standing there. Then she tells you that your room is not ready yet it still needs cleaned so you ask where is a good place to eat in town and tell her you will be back, when we came back she just rented our room to another person.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT BOOK HERE BECAUSE YOUR CONFIRMATION DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING! My mom drove HOURS because this is where my grandfather (her father) is buried. We had a confirmation #, and they STILL wouldnt honor the booking...even though their website is showing availability still! We showed the front desk person our confirmation but he didnt care. WORST MOTEL IN AREA DO NOT STAY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! Please do not believe the owners response.. we DID have a reservation, provided them proof, and they STILL didnt honor the reservation. If you don't believe me just check the rest of their reviews. Sadly I should have read reviews before booking this place, we are NOT the only ones they have done this to. Not honoring reservations is apparently a very common theme for them, as there are MANY reviews stating they dont honor reservations. This hotel SHOULD be shut down, and I will absolutely be reaching out to the Attorney General in regards to their scams and horrible treatment of the public…

Bathroom had no stoppers in sink, there were long hairs on the bathroom floor. Carpet was worn, wrinkled & fraying. The room above us had extremely squeaky floors...people clomped around til 11:30 & again at 5 am! Not the best, especially for over $125!

About all you kind find in this price range, in the middle of summer season.Rooms near Grand Traverse Bay run from $350+ anywhere near the water. So we drove east for 30 miles to find this place which was about what you could expect for $100. 00 . Found out they are tearing it down next year to erect a Holiday Inn so rates will go to$150. +. Can you tell we are on SS. Housekeeping is a nightmare. I cleaned the A/C filter myself because my wife is allergic to dust. But we got a goodnights sleep except for the elephant walking in the room above ours. The woman that helped us was very nice , they are very short of help like most everywhere we have traveled this summer.

First the good: located right on the main drag. No bed bugs! Functioning air conditioning. We had plenty of towels and wash clothes and the bedding appears to be clean. Needs work: the motel is old and is in need of updates and a good cleaning. Carpet is worn and bare in spots. There are no sink or bath tub drain plugs (originals have been removed) and the tub has a moldy rubber plug. There was a giant cobweb hanging over the bed and lots of dirt in the corners of the tile in the wash area. I would recommend a second floor room if it’s available. We were on the first floor and the people above us just walking around could wake the dead with the amount of creaking it makes. Woke me up multiple times. Overall, the motel serves its purpose but I would look elsewhere next time.…

This site says they are pet friendly, but when I called they said no. For a dumpy motel they could at least allow emotional support animals. Rude guy on the phone anyway..ugh Whatever happend to good customer service?
