Property's Favorite Review
As long time visitors to Damariscotta this was the first time we had stayed at the Newcastle Inn, and we will be back for sure. Carolyn and Liz were super helpful during the booking process and were so welcoming in person, we felt at home right away. The inn is peaceful and in a beautiful position overlooking the river which twinkles in the sunshine through the trees. It is an easy walk into town to the shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was served in the light and airy dining room and was excellent, served by two delightful ladies. Even on a very wet day it was very pleasant sitting in one of the public rooms just quietly enjoying the tranquility . The bedrooms are spotless, spacious and very well appointed Thank you Carolyn and Liz.

Location - Compassionate Hosts / Owners - High Standards all describes the Newcastle Inn. This property provides a relaxing atmosphere, clean (very) and well maintained facilities that have great accents. While many B&B’s list having breakfast, this property truly provides a detailed home made breakfast featuring only fresh in-house baked goods and other locally resourced items. So what the “special sauce” of Knewcastle Inn? It’s the two young ladies who own this great property. Example, we notified them we would not be arriving until 10:30pm. They made sure we had everything needed for our very late arrival and checked on us to make sure we were good to go. Example, the young ladies greeted us in the mornings, prepared the fabulous breakfasts, made sure we were pleased and assisted us in planning our days when we asked. They are both professional and excellent hosts. Only advice we offer is, Young Ladies - you are on a great path to continue to experience great success, stay the course. Those that don’t book this property will miss an opportunity to enjoy a great experience. Continued success ladies!

My wife and I spent two very pleasant nights at the Newcastle Inn at the end of August. The inn is clean, comfortable and very well kept. The bedroom was very pleasant and clean with a very comfortable bed. Carolyn and Liz were extremely warm, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. There is a nice little bar area and we had a very pleasant conversation with Carolyn there when she served us. Too bad there weren't other guests down there too but that can't be helped although maybe a Happy Hour would bring folks together. Only small negative was that the in-window AC (which worked very well) was a bit too noisy going on and off overnight so we ended up switching it off and so the room got a little warm. But, hey, it was a hot and humid August. We loved our stay and look forward to returning.

What a lovely place to stay in Maine! We stayed for 2 nights and loved the delicious home cooked breakfast. The inn was quiet, comfortable, charming, and private. It was in close proximity to Boothbay Harbor, Wicassett and Pemaquid Beach. Liz was welcoming & flexible when we needed to check in late. We hope to be back soon!

This is larger than it first looks, but it is clean, comfortable, and inviting. Our room was spotless, with understated New England decor. You are in easy walking distance to Damariscotta, which has lots of good places to eat and shop. The owners are cheerful and clearly work hard at maintaining a great place. And breakfasts showed creativity and were tasty.

We highly enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed eating freshly cooked and delicious breakfast on the deck that includes a beautiful view of the river. The rooms are quiet and clean and there the location and parking are easy. The hosts make the inn feel warm and comfortable immediately upon arrival. A special place we will be liking to visiting again!

The most genuinely engaging hosts and staff. Liz and Caroline welcomed us with smiles upon arrival and gave a lovely tour of their Inn. Our room was very clean and met all our needs. The bed was comfortable. The pillows could have been a little fluffier, but the beautiful sunrise made up for it. Breakfast was delicious and presented i. Such a lovely way, edible flowers and all. The proximity to town was convenient as well as other Maine sights. We look forward to staying with you again.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Newcastle Inn recently and had a fabulous time! The innkeepers, Liz and Carolyn were so gracious, friendly and genuinely focused on our stay being perfect. Each morning's breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring local ingredients and served both inside and on the outside deck overlooking the Damariscotta river. Our room was cozy and very clean with all the amenities. We would highly recommend the Newcastle Inn!
