Cottage 37 was absolutely perfect for our family getaway! Toni thought of any everything you could possibly need while away from home. The location is perfect, the pool and marina are directly around the corner! Toni even allowed us to drop our things off early so we could go out and about and start our getaway. We will most definitely be returning to Cottage 37 at Edgewater Resort again.

the cottage was comfortable, and the grounds were peaceful. Overall our stay was just satisfactory. A few reasons we are going to rate our experience as a 2.5 out 5 are. 1) the water damage to the ceiling in the 1st floor master bedroom, 2) The ripped outdoor seating. 3) The malfuctioning hot tub. 4) The non working upstairs jacuzzi. 5) The non existent internet. These are some of the reasons we left on Wed 7/21 instead of staying thru the 25th

Our group of nine friends go here each summer for a fun get-away: the living/kitchen/dining area is spacious and we enjoy the pool. There are places to eat in Taylorsville and we also enjoy renting a boat at the marina.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin: it's very clean and has a comfortable open space for the living room, kitchen and eating area. The hot tub worked fine and we also enjoyed the community pool. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed. We also were able to rent a boat at the marina and had a pleasant stay. NOTE: this is a cabin and not a hotel.

This was our second family trip staying at Edgewater Resort and again I was disappointed with the accommodations. First of all, what is the point of having a gated premises if you leave one gate open 24/7? I am happy to say that the change in management has improved several things. Such as, a coffee maker in the cottage, cushions on the deck chairs and an umbrella on the deck. However, my biggest concern still lies with cleaning. A cobweb here or there is one thing, but our cottage looked like it had not been cleaned in months! I slept fully clothed every night because I found TWO pairs of DIRTY socks in the bed. Speaking of beds, they are all awful and the couch is no better. Everything just seemed warn down and at over $200/night you'd think they could clean, buy two ply toilet paper and get some decent beds. All of those things aside, the bath and beach towels provided were very plush and nice, the marina is great and the lake is so calm and peaceful. I highly recommend boating on the lake, but I would suggest finding another place to stay.

We stayed in cottage 39 and we absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was exactly as advertised on AirBNB and our host, Rick, made sure to answer all of my questions and went out of his way to explain everything to me since this was the first time we had used AirBNB. At first I thought I would be miserable without having internet services for the duration of our stay, but I actually enjoyed it. Having a washer and dryer helped a lot because I did not come home to a ton of laundry to do. The beds were very comfortable. I hope we get the opportunity to come back soon!

We got basically what we expected, a good, no frills, accommodation. We had been here before. However we did not expect the very noisy wedding party that is still going at 10.50pm. Thank goodness we have no young children!

We had a great time visiting Edgewater. We were on vacation and hosted a family reunion. We rented three cottages that were great and the employees were super helpful. We are already discussing evening again next year.

We stayed in a two bedroom cottage. The cottage was clean, roomy and well decorated. Our cottage also had a good view of the lake from the hot tub. My wife and I both took advantage of the spa services, which we scheduled a couple of weeks ahead of time to insure availability. Willow, the massage therapist that worked on both of us, is very good at what she does. I highly recommend getting some spa time at the resort. The facility has a security gate which you card into, so there is no thru traffic. There is also a playground and pool for kids. Larger units are available which I am sure are equally nice.

False advertising. The pool is small and dirty with weeds in the concrete. The "beach" is a mudhole down a steep trail in the woods. The "spa" is a massage room and a waiting room with 2 old chairs covered in white blankets in the back of the pool house next to storage. Will never come back or recommend. Aweful.

Response from Alison S, General Manager at Edgewater Resort
Responded Jul 20, 2015
Thank you for your feedback on our property! We are so sorry that you were disappointed during your stay. Our 20 X 40 pool is usually able to accommodate the needs of our guests as they also are enjoying boating activities on Taylorsville Lake and a private hot tub at their own cottage. I am sorry you found the pool and its surroundings dirty and “weedy.” Our area has experienced severe weather for the past 3 weeks, including severe thunderstorms, high winds, tornado warnings, and flash flooding. The Louisville area has been featured on the weather channel regularly during this time! It has been a challenge to keep storm debris out of the pool as we have had thunderstorms and accompanying winds multiple times a week. Despite the weather, our maintenance staff has made every effort to maintain the pool and pool deck in an effort to keep the pool open for our guests to use during their time with us as the marina has been closed and its parking lot has been underwater due to the weeks of heavy rain. While Taylorsville Lake is a flood control lake and does not allow sand beaches, we do have one of the few naturally cleared shoreline areas on our property that allows access to the lakeshore. We always strive to make clear to our guests that it is not a typical “beach,” it is a naturally cleared area accessible only by a steep trail through the trees. Unfortunately due to the heavy rains, the water level of the lake is up over 30 feet higher than normal. Not only is the marina property and main state boat ramp currently underwater and closed to the public, but our entire “beach” area is inaccessible. I am sure the trail is very muddy but you would not have been able to see the “beach” area as it too is currently under 30 feet of water. We are blessed to be able to offer our guests a spa location onsite that offers great spa services. It is located near the pool, although not in a poolhouse, and yes, there is covered storage behind the building. From our records, it seems you did not have a spa appointment during your stay so I am sorry you were unable to experience the wonderful massage services we offer. While your outside peek into the waiting room through the window would have revealed several vintage chairs with throws, there are also several massage rooms available for services. Our therapists Willow and Katrina get such wonderful compliments for the personalized service they provide to our guests! I wish you had been able to experience it for yourself. Thank you again for your feedback and we wish you luck in your future travels!
