We’ve traveled all over the US and Canada and this is the worst RV park we’ve ever stayed at. Perhaps if you were in the newer part it would be a bit better although you are still in a “parking lot” with no trees. We were in the older part and we could barely get our slides out. The family next to us had to eat right next to our sewer and their picnic table was actually under our bed slide - that’s how close the sites were. And to make matters worse we woke up to extremely loud gun fire as there is a shooting range right next to the park. The price we paid for this site was ridiculous. Way too high for what you get. We will not be back.

First of all there is a charge of $5.00 for early check in or late check out. We have been traveling for about 6 months and have stayed at 20 campgrounds and this is the first time we have come across this. Once we arrived after 1:00 we were escorted to our site. After setting up I noticed 2 bags of dog poop in our fire ring that I disposed so as not to incur any additional fees. While we were in our RV one of the young men employed there drove his golf cart thru our site twice, which was unnecessary as we were on the end and the main road for traffic was right next to us. Also, while doing laundry I was sitting in my truck waiting for the laundry to end and there were a few young men cleaning the restrooms. They used a lot of profanity, even though they knew I was right there. The dropped the f bomb several times. Mind you this is a family campground. I would not stay there again. …

Travelled through 3 states this summer and this was the best campground of all. Enjoyed it so much that I invited two more friends that were travelling across country to join me there. They stayed 2 nights and loved it as well. On the return trip, made sure to spend the night back at Timberline. Marta and Matt are the best!

A long family weekend stay in Timberline’s new cabins. What an enjoyable time in a quiet peaceful setting, with a super accommodating staff. I remember living in Waukee 25 years ago when this campground was much smaller, but the new ownership has done wonders in improvements and expansion. We’ll be back!

Nice campground and the staff were tremendous to work with. Clean and well cared for. Pool was closed because they had a new building going up beside it. Stayed here while we had a family member in the hospital in Des Moines. We thought we might have to stay longer than we had reserved and they were willing to work with us on that. Very caring and it was very much appreciated! Easy commute to Des Moines from campground.

This seems to be good campground for kids. Lot's for them to do - plus, volleyball court, rec room, etc. for groups to mingle. Great location if you like that and don't mind small, close campsites where you hear everything your neighbor says. For us, it was just ok. We were only there for 1 night, but we selected our site specifically because it was near the showers - we are traveling across the country and need a shower. Unfortunately, the showers are being rebuilt - I just don't understand why they didn't mention this on the website. Yes, there is another shower some distance away, but there are hundreds of people here. You really are not honest if you don't mention that the showers and pool are out of service when taking online reservations. The site plan is a bit usual - I'm no pro, but it seems there is a better way to lay out the very large property. Too many sites are barely useable and others are too big. Our site was not flat and there is really no way to eat outside without sitting on a hill and the picnic table flipping. WiFi did not work, despite their efforts to provide us with multiple passwords.…

Love this campground! Marta goes above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The restrooms are super clean and the store has all you need without having to leave the campground. The $20 cancelation fee is pretty much a given at 99% of campgrounds I've stayed in so a non issue.

I was really impressed with this campground. So much so, I have kept a tab open on my phone with this campground to remember to review them! My partner and I were traveling cross country and we were driving through a torrential downpour late night and we were lucky enough to cross paths with this campground. The staff were accommodating and friendly! We were set us up in a cabin for the night! It was cozy, clean, and had electricity-air conditioning and heating. Also, showers were hot! Lovely!! :) If to go through Iowa again, I would definitely make an effort to stop and provide my business to them again! Well wishes!!

Stayed at Timberline while attending the state fair. Pros: excellent hostess - when she was told my daughter had to work while on vacation she gave her premium WiFi for free! Clean shower house and laundry Site sizes in the newer section were very spacious They delivered firewood, and the helper was really sociable WiFi actually was decent, never ever get WiFi at campgrounds! Salt water pool Very quiet here. I saw in some reviews that people didn’t like the shooting range next door but it was only a few hours on Saturday and you couldn’t really hear it in the newer part of the campground Cons: pool was a bit small, it was really busy on Saturday! But it was fair time so understandable No shade in the newer part of the campground Arcade games were mostly broken…
