Enjoyed pleasant Al Fresco dining here today . Good trad Pub , freshly prepared food and a pleasant Waitress , what's not to like . Use or loose Watering Holes like this or they will be gone forever .

We stayed 3 nights to go and help a relative fit a kitchen in his house. The rooms clean and lots of tea coffee a Hugh kettle . Breakfast amazing and evening meal was wonderful. Staff friendly and especially Barbra who served us breakfast and made sure we where looked after. Would highly recommend this pub and the rooms.

Thank you to all of the staff. I booked my stay here at extremely short notice booked online at 5pm and arrived at 6pm. This didn’t faze the staff at all. I stayed in the cow room which was so super lovely with a bath and huge comfy bed. I ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was exceptional as was breakfast for the two mornings I was there. The staff were absolutely fantastic. So friendly and helpful and fun. Would highly recommend staying here.

This place never lets us down. Always a brilliant meal, great atmosphere super friendly staff. Just wish I lived nearer so could visit more often! Sunday lunch is just huge and the cheeseboard is to die for! Always a good selection of real ales whenever we visit and not let down this time. Glad we walked so could sample them all. A must visit if you are in the area! We will be back next time we stop at Fernwood!

The menu is extensive catering to all tastes so our party of four experienced Thai, American & British all at the same meal. The food was superb, in particular the lamb rump dish, perfectly cooked and generous in portion. This was our first visit with our new grandchild of one week old and the staff were very accommodating to give us a table with space for the carry cot. Overall an excellent meal & great staff, I highly recommend this place and will be returning on our next visit.

My wife and I visited on 17th December. The food was excellent and the waitress despite being very busy was both charming and attentive. The local real ales were delicious. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the log burner was a bonus. What a superb venue, We will be returning and with others!

Visited for Sunday lunch which was absolutely delightful. Home made pate delicious. Salmon fish cakes lovely. Steak was cooked just right which these days is getting difficult to find. Roast beef was cooked superb and I didn’t want to leave any but I could not leave the Yorkshire which was the best I’ve ever tasted. The staff greeted us very friendly at the bar and found us a table. The two staff who served our meals were both pleasant, smiling and friendly. What a lovely place to visit and we will be back.
