We stayed in an outdated condo, building 3 #7. The condo was fairly clean but everything was well used and tired. The beds were all lousy, no one was comfortable in their beds. The clubhouse on the property was nice and welcoming. If we stay there again, I would request a remodeled or just updated condo.

The unit had such a terrible bed we checked out after one night although we had paid for three. The management company did refund our money but it really screwed up a long weekend we had been looking forward to. I should have read the reviews prior to booking and I never would have stayed here. The beds were unsleepable - the queen size bed folded up like a hospital bed with it's feet and head up. The entire unit was dingy and pretty sad looking. We booked at the last minute so I didn't expect a 5 star hotel but this was completely unacceptable. I've stayed at hostels with better beds than this. Really not okay to keep screwing up people's vacations with no standards - read the reviews and protect yourselves from a potential problem.

This is a HORRIBLE hotel. I arrived at the hotel just after midnight and was UNABLE to check in. - There is NO front desk. - The hotel's phone system was broken and was unable to connect me to a live "after hours" person - Hotels.com was unable to contact the hotel - I had to go and find another place to stay - Hotels.com will not refund me for my reservation even though the hotel provided me with no way to actually check in. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

The condo rentals at Meadow Ridge are great for families. You get lots of space and a convenient location. We have stayed at 4 different units and all are very good. The quality varies but all are at least as good as a reasonable hotel.

We've stayed at Winter Park Meadow Ridge condos several times, starting in the '90's when our kids were little. The units we rented were always clean, reasonable in price and well maintained by the owner and management companies. Now that our kids are grown, we visit the more "shiek" ski resorts but have fond memories of Meadow Ridge and Winter Park. This is a good area for families with small kids, i.e. grade and middle school age. At that point, they aren't interested in night life and the mountain is, in my opinion, perfect for that age group. An area is reserved for small kids just learning to ski with their own lifts, etc. My 4 kids learned to ski at Winter Park and now ski anything on the mountain and at the other resorts. I've not found a comparable area at any of the more popular destination resorts. The restaurants on the mountain provide just what kids want for lunch and treats. The mountain itself is the second largest area in Colorado with just over 3,000 acres of ski able terrain that has runs for all skill levels and more annual snow fall than any where in the state except for Wolf Creek. Thus, no rocks and stumps. The kids always enjoyed visiting the gift shops down town and always found something they liked. If you have a family with small kids, it doesn't get any better than Winter Park ski area and meadow ridge condos.

We were looking for Unit 28-08, and found out that they moved rental companies. They can now be found at the website for Winter Park Lodging Company. I am actually typing this while staying at this condo, big fire roaring in the fireplace, 20 degrees outside, gorgeous view of snow covered mountains. This place has stayed clean and well equipped. Last night we watched a DVD, from the Red Box in McDonalds, on the flatscreen above the fireplace. The tv has a built-in dvd player that worked perfectly. The other day we saw a maintenance guy and asked him if we could burn real wood, usually had to burn Duraflame because of draught conditions, and he said yes we could burn real wood and a guy would even deliver 4 bundles for $15, cool! He saw that we were staying in this unit and said that he really likes the way the owners redid this unit and since everything is new he doesn't have to come fix things all the time like he does for other units. Yesterday we took a break from skiing and dragged our sore muscles over to the Hot Sulphur Springs pools, 30 min. drive, and it was great. There were 16 outdoor pools of various sizes filled with hot water straight from the ground, they mix it with cool water to be comfortable but the water is not recirculated. With the sulphur, it smells a little eggy but it was great to relax in these small pools outside right in the middle of these hills covered with snow. They rent towels and robes. I was glad we remembered to pack our swimsuits. So, this Meadow Ridge condo is still awesome and an amazing price. Right now my two teenage boys each have their own room and bath downstairs and my husband and I stay in the 3rd story loft, I like the vaulted ceiling up there, there's a great kitchen and family room with fireplace on the 2nd story. We will be coming here again.

This is an update to a previous post. Since my last post we have stayed at Meadow Ridge two times, and I will not stay here again unless I can stay in building 28 unit 8. We were told that this unit is now being rented from a different rental company, so we stayed in a different unit and omg it was nothing like our usual place. Outdated, cheap furniture, just depressing really. I'm sure there are other good units here, but I have only seen the one good one. For our visit last March, I called around and found that 28-8 is being rented out by Winter Park Lodging Company. We booked it, showed up and it was fabulous! Love, love, love this place. I could move there.

We just came home from here. Left early Friday morning, The trip was over 700 miles. Got there late. Had booked through RCI. If you want a place to relax and enjoy your vacation go elsewhere, We were told this was a stand alone "cabin" type location. It wasn't. There are 12 units per building. That was the first disappointment. Went inside and discovered the place was dirty. Old food on the floor, dirty couches. NO air conditioning. The only TV was in the living room and it didn't work, there were NO TV's in the bedrooms. The bathroom was so small barely one person could fit. We were used to having zacuzzi tubs, separate showers etc. in the units we had booked with Wyndham and RCI. This place also has no washer/dryer in the unit. The freezer did not even have an ice maker. There was mold growing in the bathroom. Plus the people in the unit next to this one had a barking dog. There is no available interent in the unit. After driving almost 12 hours to get there we called RCI. They had no other units available in the area. We drove down off the mountain and found other accommodations for the night then headed back home. Over 1400 miles in 2 days. We had planned a weeks relaxing vacation seeing country we had never seen. Had a few things we wanted to do, plus just explore the area. We didn't get to do any of this. There is a poster on here who showed her pics of a really nice unit. I don't know whose place this is, but it is not what you will get if you are booking through RCI. We have made a complaint with RCI about this place and hope they do something about it. You do not want to stay here.

I stayed at the Pines at Meadow Ridge Resort through a RCI exchange in November 2009 (timeshare). Needless to say, that after a stressful drive on a road that twisted high up in mountains, we were disappointed by the property. Though the Winterpark ski slopes are only 10 miles to the south, the resort's unit quality takes away from any possible pleasurable stay. Units are "rustic"... I'm not sure if they've seen renovations since being built but the units certainly are showing their age. When I checked into the unit, it was obvious that the cleaning staff did not finish since the stove/range was apart and a bag of garbage was sitting in the middle of the kitchen. When I travel, I expect to at least "upgrade" from my old college apartment. Wood-panel walls and shag carpet were once common in the 1980s but this is the 2000s. What once gave the impression of "warmth" and "cozy" now gives the impression of "worn" and "dark/dirty". Check-in was interesting. Though I have used "off-site" check-in at other properties in the past, this check-in is located in an office building without any signage. I was unsure if I was in the correct office right up until the time they gave me the unit key. In my opinion, the Winterpark area offers a slower pace when compared to that of Vail, Cooper Mountain and Breckenridge and the views of the mountains are wonderful. But I am sure that I will be consider another timeshare property versus returning to the Pines at Meadow Ridge.
