Absolutely lovely little hotel. Super sweet staff, phenomenal food, and very clean and comfortable. It is basic and simple, even has a hot shower. Quiet, and in a heritage building. It’s not fancy, it is just what you need while on safari in Kenya. The location is perfect for waking up to a trip to Naivasha national park.

Me and my wife visited Taphe Guest house recently and thought to leave them a little review. Taphe guest house rooms are a nice and cozy yet spacious room to stay in. The staff and food is exceptionally amazing and you will feel right at home with the cleanliness and service you receive. Thank you for the hospitality

This place deserves more recognition. If the facilities are quite old and not everything works properly, I feel giving 5 for their food. The chef is a master - always cooking excellent fresh and diverse local dishes. Everyone from our group was so happy about food, even our guides said they barely get such quality ! The prices in Jan22 were 2500khs (slightly below 25$) for a queen-size bedroom including breakfast (an amazing and huge one). You can also get a cheaper room for 2000khs for 2 single beds. The chef and the manager are very friendly and helpful.

I was at Taphe as a solo traveller. This was part of my 5-day safari (Masai Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha) booked with Karibu Safaris. While the rooms are nothing to tell home about, they are clean and very spacious. This guest house is tucked in a quiet part of a busy town. Close to the police lines, safety is not an issue. Full marks for Carol, the manager, and George (?)the cook and caretaker. He was new to the property but knew his way around and made sure that I had two delicious meals in comfort and care. They are exceptionally good people. Carol and I went out to the local pub at night to check out how Naivasha parties!

PROS: Lovely garden. Away from the crowded streets of Naivasha. Staff was nice. CONS: Facilities were rather outdated. Difficult to use the shower and toilet. Had some electricity issues that were solved speedily.

We stayed here as part of a 10 day safari. We were the only folks there at the time due to the Covid 19. We had a comfortable room with adequate facilities, hot water, good food, and an overall enjoyable stay here.

I had a lovely stay here as part of a guided trip to Mount Logonot and Lake Naivasha. Beautiful room with a balcony, yummy dinner and breakfast, kind and welcoming hosts, quick WiFi - can’t fault it at all.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend. It was included in our safari package and will inform the tour company with our disappointment. First room we received , the room next door was in process of painting so our room had a strong paint smell, next room didn’t have a toilet seat ask for a seat , didn’t have one so we moved again, 3rd room the toilet has a leak. We were too tired to move again. The meals were just provided, no choice a plate in front of you. The service in the restaurant was extremely slow.

I Have taken your review seriously and want to say that we had a difficult situation with rooms last year. We have now started normal operations with all rooms in good shape. Next time we decide to paint or work in a room we shall close off the area and make it inaccessible to our quests. I regret that this happened to you and want to undo it and because I can't, I ask for your generous pardon. If you come back again, do not hesitate to check us because we are upgrading and improving the customer experience this year. I promise to do something special for you, please let me know.

We stopped here a night on our trip from Masai Mara to Nakuru lake. Staff was very welcome and helping. But room was below standards: 2 beds in the room with no place to move. Bathroom door not closing. Shower in front of the toilet which make it very unsafe on slippery floor. And no hot water. WiFi was poor and impossible to use even to load emails. Only one plug working in the room which is very little with phones, watch, pad to charge at night. Hotel is in full renovation which was not a problem by itself but is not making it pleasant. Dinner and breakfast buffet were basically good for the earliest patron but really cold or not replenished for the late comer. In summary not a good experience at all and would avoid

We are very very sorry for this poor experience, Since then, we have stopped renovating and are choosing our guests first above anything else. When we start to renovate again, we shall take safety measures in place to make sure our customers are far away and will still be comfortable. We have removed the manager and other staff. Since this establishment is dedicated to our international niche of travelers, we take this review very seriously. For a hotel like this which has many five stars in service, we are looking deeply to prioritize service to our guests henceforth. Thank you for taking the time to tell us.
