The Cobb Arms hotel offers a unique stay with its quirky, artsy pub atmosphere that many guests find enjoyable, though some feel the luxury doesn't match the price. While the staff's friendliness and the pet-friendly environment are highlights, opinions on the rooms vary: they are often seen as cozy and clean but basic and lacking in amenities.
Travelers are drawn to the picturesque harbour views and the proximity to the sea, yet some are left disappointed by the value, citing overpriced meals and service inconsistencies.

Great welcome from Rob and the team. Fabulous food and atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble, even the dog got sausages for breakfast. We spent 3 nights having a fabulous time. We would recommend this as a place to stay in Lyme Regis. Thank you Rob, you are a great host and made all the difference to our stay. Will definitely be returning

We go to the Cobb arms every year when we come down for our annual fossiling trip! Last nights meals met and exceeded expectations and the hospitality from Rob and the team made for a truly amazing evening! We’ll definitely be back next year for more!

My son in law and I popped in for a pint. It was cold and wet outside and our two dogs were similarly soaked. How things changed! A couple of excellent pints each, I had a superb crab sandwich and he had the scotch egg that looked and tasted equally good. Young man behind the bar was friendly and professional and all in all a lovely visit. Would not hesitate to return and thank you all.

Wandered in hoping to find some gf food after the restaurant we booked was a let down. The manager Rob immediately assured us the chips were in a gf fryer, there were gf fish and chips and a gf pie! The pie was absolutely delicious and the pastry was lovely and flakey, the onion rings were the best i’d ever had and my mum said the fish was delicious. the staff were lovely and chatty and reassuring about the safety measures to ensure gf. One of the best meals i’ve had and would 100% reccomend for any gf or regular diners!

Food was incredible, making it amazing value for money. Both starters and mains were large portion size wise, making it both quality and quantity. Service was also super, really welcoming, fast and friendly. Environment and decor was also super interesting. Can’t wait to visit again next time we’re in the area!

Fab food and lovely staff. I had the mussels starter, which was gorgeous and better than I’ve had in Brittany, but the portion was so generous I couldn’t have managed a main course! Veggie pie also thoroughly recommended , and unfortunately no room for puddings afterwards.

Just had a weeks stay at the Cobb Arms. The location is perfect and even in November theres so much to do. Our room was cosy and had everything we needed. The staff were amazing and we were well looked after. We had a couple of evening meals and breakfast every day - food was good and portion size excellent. There was decorating going on in the stairway but its was a minor inconvience. The only down side is parking - we opted for the closest car park which being right on the beach was expensive but avoided the hill to cheaper alternatives. Would highly recommend a visit and we will be back at somepoint

My wife and I had lunch at the Cobb Arms today and as vegans were a little concerned about a possible choice of suitable dishes. We needn't have worried! The home made, hand raised pie offered as one of of the vegan alternatives was the best meal we have had in ages. The pie was full of delicious mushrooms, sweet potato and spinach. Was accompanied with twice cooked chips and a dish of perfectly cooked winter vegetables and an incredibly tasty sauce. Staff were very friendly and attentive and we were delighted that our dog was welcomed into the restaurant.
