I’m happy in a hostel or simple B&B, so I don’t mind simplicity. But when a place advertises as relaxing, spa hotel one expects a different level of service, tranquility and cleanliness. Unfortunately, SELLODGE is not the experience they advertise. I’ll start with the positives though as these cannot be overlooked. Very friendly kitchen & housekeeping staff, great Chilean breakfast, lovely grounds and spacious room with comfortable beds and clean linens. Hot tubs were clean & in a lovely setting under the trees. On the downside, the front desk staff person not informative, despite the fact that my sister and I grew up in Chile (she still lives here) and we are fluent in Spanish. He told us the pool was fine to swim in despite the fact that it was filthy and had been shocked with chlorine in anticipation of a cleaning it was to have that evening. When we signed up for a hot tub, we had to go back to find him to let us into the tub. We were told that we had to hand in our key at the front desk before going to breakfast, which turned out not to be the case. The walls are very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING in the room next door. The restaurant next door is also a wedding venue and on weekends (especially) you can here the music in your room. Such a shame! Seems they are struggling to keep customers as it’s summer and there are not that many people here. SELLODGE has seen better days and my hope is that it’s owners will have the opportunity to revive it before it continues to decline.

staff were very nice Rooms were nice and clean plenty of parking Food in the restaurant was good pool needs to be cleaned. hot tubs are not free and require advance notice. they lock up the property after 7p in our case and we were locked out from getting back in. there was a phone number listed but my cellular was not working so there was no other way to get in. I yelled and shook the gate and walked up and down the road but no one heard me. I had to flag down someone on the road to call the number and come let us in. they don’t speak English at all. The Wi-Fi only works at the reception. Not strong in the rooms and doesn’t work outside on the patio

There's so much to like about this hotel. The staff are wonderful - really helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very nice (ham, eggs, cheese, cereal, juice, yoghurt, pastries, bread), as was the other food I had in the restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by stunning scenery. The pool and hot tubs looked very nice. My room was large and comfortable (although you might want a travel kettle). The problem is that it's located next to a wedding reception venue that plays very loud music and has an MC until past 3am. It's literally like trying to sleep in a nightclub. For two of the three nights of my stay, I did not get to sleep until after 4am (and the third night I was then woken at 6am by the staff talking to each other in the lobby). After the first night, I asked at reception if it would be the same the following night and they told me definitely not (it had been a holiday the day before, so i thought perhaps it was a one off). But it was exactly the same, which is when a different person on reception explained to me that it's a wedding venue and they don't know the itinerary and of course have no control over the noise. He was extremely nice and apologetic and granted that it was impossible to sleep through, but by that time it was 10pm and too late for me to move to another hotel. I don't understand how a hotel can function like this, and it is such a shame because otherwise it is a lovely relaxing place. During the dav it's pretty idyllic.

The money you pay for one night is not worthy at all!! Don’t make the same mistake as us! In Booking.com website there are described some hotel amenities that doesn’t even exist (thermal pool, covered pool, japonese bathtub) and they charge for everything (sauna, hot bathtub), even that it’s not described as paid amenities. Their excuse was that they just bought the hotel and they are having some changes. So they are using the ratings of QAMIQO Hotel while they are SEL LODGE. In the breakfast, there is no coffee (only instant coffee), the juices are not natural and we ordered eggs and we were CHARGED for it. It’s important to say that when we ordered, no one told us it would be charged. In the night, around 12pm we wanted to go out to eat something and the gates were closed and there was no one in the front desk, we called a lot of times and no one answered. We spend half an hour to find someone to open for us. They don’t have minibar, so we needed to ask some ice to make our wine colder. The only thing that was fine is that the manager offered us the sauna and the hot bathtub for free (as described in the website) and gave us two drinks. But it has not change the impression of them being mercenaries, charging so much for one night and not offering the amenities for free. And just reinforcing what I said in the beginning, the price you pay is not worthy at al!! Not recommended.

I'll start saying it's a small nice hotel. But far from having the merit of any star. As I walked in, the receptionist was fighting loudly with a guest who finally left very unhappy. (I believe the receptionist was right but who cares). There are only 2 suite. I got the one on the left of the reception desk. Believe it or not, the door won't close hermetically, so whoever wants can easily watch through. Besides that, everything is regular. They try to make some effort to compensate, such as nice breakfast to the room. Wait... if you like/don't mind to share your SEX-LIFE with others, give this comment a like !!!

Great place to visit the Cajón del Maipo zone. Just an hour away from Santiago you can find this nice mid size hotel with good accommodation and a super friendly staff. Rooms are good size, with cable tv and small but useful bathroom. Two king size beds each. Restaurant has good variety specializing in Salmon, Ceviches, Chicken and Meat. Our room included buffet breakfast with cereal, pastry, white and brown bread, eggs any style, cheese and ham and salami. Lunch and dinner were very good as well. I can totally recommend this hotel, I'm looking forward to come back soon.

Due to a friend´s wedding, we escaped from Santiago and stayed there for the weekend. The place is great, peaceful, sorrounded by large hills. The breakfast is also very good. We enjoyed our stay. Also you can plan trekings from the hotel.

Nice little hotel excellent for a weekend escape in the nature. We had our doubts to visit this hotel during winter season, but everything was warm and comfy. Breakfast has improved but still could be better, it didn't have the same quality every morning. Staff is prepared to help you any time. (we speak good Spanish, so language wasn't an issue for us). Activities in cascada de las animas where great!

Like other reviews, I too think the price is too high for what is offered. Facilities are OK but nothing special. We stayed at much better places for lower prices during our trip in Chile. Besides, we had a bad experience with the older lady of the recepcion. All she basically said was NO during our stay and she 'accidently' overcharged us for 50% (what we had to get back ofcourse). I hope the younger lady that sat next to her realizes this is NOT how you are supposed to serve guests. Other staff of hotel was helpfull.

This is a nice -but relatively basic- structure, with some amicable staff (especially in the restaurant) in a beautiful location, close to Santiago. However, the person in charge of check-in made an unfriendly and unhelpful impression, as well as a highly unfortunate remark. While asking me to fill in a form with personal details, in reference to my wife, she requested: "and do this also [fill in details] for your companion, if you have them". We found this quite rude. In addition, in the rooms there is a list with prohibitions rather than a welcome note. So, although the place has advantages, it would have to improve and display a bit more hospitality for this to be a place where one would like to return. To be fair, at check out, I did leave the complaint, and the person in charge apologised, but this was not accompanied with any suggestion of compensation for the inconvenience.
